This place has so much potential to become a fun place to be! I can visualize food vendor trucks, local bands, etc even borrowing from Providence RI water fire shows. However what I saw was drugs, drinking, and unsavory looking characters lurking around.(This was evening into nighttime hours.)although there was a police presence there was not enough activity to keep the nonsense away. I think to make this spot live up to its potential the city must put the fire water shows on, hire the bands, allow the food and beer trucks and then invite the public with massive advertising. Residents of Western Mass would support it! It’s more convenient than driving to Boston, Providence and Hartford. The undesirable elements will then vacate. Of note it would really be nice to have more dwelling places become available in the city, it will eliminate most of the problems of this beautiful spot. And bring in the visitors and revenue the city is seeking.

The Connecticut Riverwalk and Bikeway in Springfield, Massachusetts is a wonderful destination for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty of the area. The trail stretches for over 3 miles along the banks of the Connecticut River, offering stunning views of the water and the surrounding landscape. One of the highlights of the trail is the bike path, which is well-maintained and provides a smooth ride for cyclists of all levels. The path is also wide enough to accommodate pedestrians, joggers, and rollerbladers, making it a great place to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. The Connecticut Riverwalk and Bikeway is also home to a number of interesting sights and attractions, including the Basketball Hall of Fame and the Springfield Armory National Historic Site. There are also several parks and picnic areas along the trail, making it easy to take a break and enjoy a scenic lunch or snack.

Such a great program that has been brought to Springfield MA, out door salsa music! In a beautiful park setting, and the lovely view of the river! It’s from 4-8 pm on Sundays. The last event will be Sunday 09/15, but that event will at MGM but outdoor as well. Ppl bring their lawn chairs, tents , pop up tents for shade and big blankets to have a picnic while listening to beautiful music and spending time with your family or friends. Safe and friendly environment. And they have about 5 food trucks and a guy selling gelato ( we had the coconut one) yum! Parking is a little challenge. I ended up parking at Insa , and then just walked a the way down , then some stairs and then your at the park and event. They do have a slash pads for the kids. And they do have porta potties . And once that is over at 8 pm, head over to MGM for some gambling. And check out their food court.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THIS PLACE "DOES NOT" HAVE LIGHTS AND IS THEREFORE UNSAFE AT NIGHT. PEOPLE TRIED TO ROB/MURDER ME HERE Google Maps led me through here at 7:25pm as I had to bike to East Longmeadow. The path has no lights along the entire walkway yet there is no closed signs or set times of operation. The trail eventually leads to a fork near Liberty St if you take a left, not sure where it leads when you are straight. If I didn't use my flashlight on my phone to navigate on my bike I would not have been able to escape the people who tried to rob me, there is not enough light to make out an exit (I had to follow the headlights from cars near the underside of the highway with my flashlight on.) The path is a fair distance away from the main street, right at the fork a man with a dog proceeded to chase me ordering me to stop, I took off on my bike but the chase lasted a very long 45 seconds. The road was so distant from this point that I would have been killed without witnesses if I wasn't fast enough. Also, leaving the trail, right after the railroad crossing spits you right out under the highway which happened to have a lot of traffic this day. I flew into the right lane fleeing these people are was almost hit by a car. PLEASE BE ADVISED THIS PLACE "DOES NOT" HAVE LIGHTS AND IS THEREFORE UNSAFE AT NIGHT. PEOPLE TRIED TO...
