La Fiorentina Pastry Shop — Restaurant in Springfield

I went in to get a cake was the employee told me what kind of cakes they had so I decided on one and I even asked again to make sure he got the correct one. I get home we have dinner and them it’s time for dessert. My wife cuts the cake and it was the wrong one. I live far away from the bakery. I called and talked to the manager. She has to call the other store to find out what to do about the situation. Then I was told to bring the cake back. I said with an elevated voice are you kidding me? Well I asked for a phone call from the owner which never happened so I called him. Yes I was upset and I did get a little upset to be honest. Then he said that I was rude to his employee when I talked to her. I didn’t use any vulgarity just an elevated voice since I was upset. Then I was told not to yell when he was the only one that could help me. Well I explained the situation again he told me to email him the pics of the cake and receipt and he will make up his mind if I will get a credit or not. This owner is a real jerk. It was clearly the incorrect cake. Maybe he should learn some proper management. He should have said if it’s the incorrect cake we would gladly refund the money instead of I will make a decision whether or not you will get your money back. Well you lost all of my business I would rather travel into Hartford to get my Italian pastry from Modern Pastry like I should have from the beginning. I never had a problem with them. I am so mad right now, that I have no words! My boyfriend showed up this evening with a box from this bakery! That immediately put a smile on my face, because a couple of days ago I was expressing how sad it is that Northampton bakery closed and it was the closer to me and how much I loved the fruit cake. Well, my boyfriend went out of his way, left his job to get me the fruit cake, but the lady on front convinced him to buy something that she said it was the same. Unfortunately, those cups of something coved with whip cream and fruits on top was nothing near a piece of cake. What a disappointment! Underneath all that cream was crumbs of cake saturated with some liquid that looked like someone vomit in it! Why the lady did not sell what my boyfriend ask for? Is it that is Valentine weekend and they want to sell every single left over crumbs from the back to make money.?. What a shame taking advantage of thrusting costumers like my boyfriend that believe the lady that said that this was the same as the cake. We don’t play with no ones’s food and if you are Italian you should know...

We were recommended to use La Fiorentina Pastry Shop from our Venue. To say we are thankful is an understatement. From start to finish Mauro was professional and such a delight! We brought our baby with us to the initial meeting and Mauro instantly provided our son with a happy little treat.

Mauro asked me all of the important questions regarding the wedding cake from the design, colors, flavors, and etc. It was very easy to finalize everything with him leading up the wedding day.

We received MANY compliments about the cake design and the taste! I even had one friend tell me how much she loves La Fiorentina and that she used to go there a lot when she lived in Springfield. So she was thrilled to know we used this bakery.
