We stayed here on 9/21. We checked in just after 4pm. We had two rooms. One for my in-laws and one for us. My in-laws got a king room and we had a king suite so we could have the hide-and-bed for our teenager.
Upon walking in you smell a strong fragrance of cleaning products. We got up to the 3rd floor where we were staying 321 and 301 and it had a strong odor of pine sol or something similar. As my group walked to 301 right across the hall from us was 5 grocery sacks filled with garbage just sitting in the hallway. We got into our room and the odor of pine sol was even stronger.
When I took my small dog outside to go potty around 8-8:30 pm, I came back in to the hotel and told the front desk all that garbage was there. We left this morning about 5:20 and it was still there. That garbage had been in the hall for over 12 hours and nothing was done about it.
When it was time to get ready for bed, my son pulled out his hide-a-bed and looked around for sheets, blankets and pillows and there were none. My husband called down to get some and he was told he had to go down to get them. He was pissed because those items should have been there already. You have people requesting a room with a hide-a-bed and you’re not going to make sure everything needed is in there for it and then when it’s not you’re going to make the guests go get it? Horrible customer service. The gal at the front desk could tell my husband wasn’t happy and called back and said she’d bring it up. That’s the way it should be. Have customer service. Make sure rooms have what is needed ahead of time. If you fail to provide those things, don’t make your guests get them. It’s not our job to go get our own bedding for the hide-a-bed.
I woke up this morning super congested due to all the fragrance of cleaning products. I tried to clear my sinuses and when I did, I could taste the smell of the cleaning products. Those products are so toxic as is and then you have your guests inhaling it for hours. If my in-laws hadn’t booked and paid for this stay on our trip, we would have just left. I would have rather slept in our car at a rest stop than sleep there. Will never stay or eat anywhere in...
Read moreHow would you like some smarty kid to add charges to your credit card? Trip Advisor has this hotel as pet friendly. After driving five hours from home I realize when I arrive that it is in fact not. I could have driven further to the next town, I have a 7 pound teacup Chihuahua so with that I broke the rules. I was charged the next day 150.00! I would have been glad to pay, but I only paid 113.00 for the room. When I wrote a complaint to Best Western I was contacted by a very rude and condescending young man who informed me that it was their "policy" and normally they charge 200 a night because they have to hire a third party to clean for the next guest who may have pet allergies. I would like to add I stayed one night and there were no damages to the hotel. I asked if they had Safe-Pro come rip out the carpet he actually replied he was unaware of the third party cleaning crew. He stated he would look into it, I checked my account today and there was a new charge to my card...for twenty dollars more! Yep, 285.89 for one night at a Best Western for an old lady and her 7 pound dog! No one should have the power to charge your card what ever profit they feel, I broke the rules yet I damaged nothing and left...
Read moreFrank was pretty much the only employee who was accommodating to us. Frank is awesome!!! 10 stars for him and him only!!! Our first room was awful!!! The moment we walked in the door to the room we were smacked in the face with moldy smell. literally smelled like it was flooded and they just left the water to dry on its own. Thank goodness for Frank switching our room without any issues. The next room was good! The cleaning ladies were good about switching out our towels but not about taking our trash. Set it out by the door in the AM and when we arrived back it was still there. Another concerning matter was how each evening we would arrive back to the hotel and there were people openly smoking weed by the front doors. Now, it may be legal there and I don't know all the laws for it, but jeeeeeez at least go somewhere that other guest don't have to smell it. Another thing is, we were told that we would be Tax Exempt for our hotel. We were coming in from Texas and the lady was fully aware that our entire baseball team was coming from Texas, but didn't honor our exemption because we are once again, from Texas. So we were all hit with a surprise charge on our bank statements after we left. Thats super...
