Our experience at Kyoto was not pleasant, and ended with our entire family of four being very sick afterwards. When I called to speak to the manager about our experience, he blew me off, and even asked if I had been to the doctor. He informed me that when this typically happens (I assume that means many people are getting sick after eating here) the owner requires a doctor's note to prove the illness. Not only did my family get sick, but while at the restaurant we had very dissatisfying service. The wait staff was not the best by far. My order, my fiance's, my son's, and 3 other people's orders at our table were all incorrect in some form or fashion. Our drinks were rarely refilled without having to track down the waiter. My 5 year old who loves hibachi and the "show" was terrified by the man who was doing our show. He was literally hiding under his chair. This is the worst part... the hibachi chef spiked someone's drink at our table, and stirred it with his bare hands (touching her straw). The woman had to ask for a new drink because she did not consume alchohol. This was very upsetting to the entire table. As someone who has many friends who participate in alcoholics anonymous, I thought of them and how this man could have potentially taken someone's sobriety without their permission. I thought about if this were to have been me, a breastfeeding mother who choose not to consume alchohol so that it won't pass to her child. We also witnessed the same chef throw hot rice onto a newborn babies head, attempting at humor. The mother was furious, and I would have been as well. My son was luckily out of his way when this occurred, or it could have been my newborn as well. I was very dissappointed with our experience, and even more dissappointed that when I reached out to the manager I had no response. Not only was this a horrible place to dine, but our ticket was about $85 for only two adults and a child. Also, a gratuity was automatically included. In this instance, I do not think gratuity should have been included because of how atrocious the experience was. I've never eaten at a hibachi restaurant that did this. Also, our waiter had very limited knowledge about the menu. When I asked for a typical sauce that I get at every hibachi place I eat at, he did not know of it, and did not get it for me. We will not be back, and I encourage you...
Read moreOur server Savannah was very attentive as our waitress but i felt bad for the other patrons because their other staff was not as well trained? Please refer to the photos.
We arrived at 1245pm and were seated immediately. We started with drinks and appetizers. My wife and I had Arnold Palmers and some pan fried gyoza as well as steamed ademame. We then ordered our sushi and entrees. We had the shaggy dog, mardi gras, and princess rolls, and shared the yaki soba.
The portion sizes were a bit large but very flavorful. The sushi rolls were great flavors. The princess was different than expected i think due to the soy paper instead of standard nori. It didnt take away anything from the roll but it was a different texture profile. The mardi gras was as wonderful as its name however it was a very large piece of sushi. It was hard to eat in a single bite as traditional sushi should be eaten. The Shaggy dog was exceptional with the fresh jalapeños.
Things i didnt care for were the numerous televisions. They really take away from the ambiance and almost gave it a bar feel instead of a nice upscale Japanese restaurant.
Over all i cant go above 3 stars due to the staff. If my review was solely on the food its a 4.5. We will consider dining again, possibly during a dinner service when the young people are not so idle.
Thank you and Please feel free to check out all my...
Read moreI needed some ✨️me time✨️ today, so I stopped in at Kyoto around 2:45pm, the perfect time to stop in for a late lunch. The atmosphere was super calm and relaxing, and the restaurant was fairly empty with the exception of a few tables.
My waiter Peyton was extremely helpful and attentive. He even helped me pick a sushi roll because I couldn't decide what to get with so many options. I was in and out quickly.
I started off with the kani salad. Highly recommend. It was the perfect amount of crab, and all of the veggies were super fresh. I could have eaten just that, but I didn't stop there.
I ordered 2 pieces of the tuna nigiri, and I was not disappointed. The tuna was SO fresh and light. The perfect tuna to rice ratio. I also ordered a super crunch roll with eel sauce on the side and ended up leaving with a few pieces to go.
Everything was fantastic, from the atmosphere to the service to the food. I was not at all disappointed with the price for the quality and grade of service I received. I am now fat and happy, feeling a little more at peace than I did when I walked in.
