DO NOT BELIEVE THE REVIEWS:
Original review: Front desk check in was amazing and the resort is beautiful with a lot of history sitting on amazing beach alit of places nearby and great food options on site thank you for the hospitality I will be back for that alone thank you Whitney Horacio you guys are the best The review above is fake and it was previously given 5 stars (I changed it to 1 star but it still shows 5). The reason why it shows my name is because during the check in they ask for your phone to give a review in exchange to a free from upgrade. However, before posting the review they don't let you see it. And because I was busy checking in and excited to start my trip I ended up forgetting to see what they had written. The bedrooms were a joke. We were charged full price for the resort fee when the swimming pool was closed. TV didn't work, the bathtub was nasty (that was the "upgraded" room. I can't imagine the one we would've stayed in if it was not upgraded). They asked us to check 2 other rooms to choose from. One literally smelled like trash can. The whole hallway did! The other one smelled like chemicals. So strong that we could not stay in. We finally got another mediocre room that worked. Staff is nice at the beginning and we saw them doing the same with new guests checking in. Apparently, if staff gets a Google review they get bonuses. So Oracio is the one who helped with the check in. Whitney is the manager who wrote the interview and we never saw her until we started having problem and I demanded to talk with the manager. I have no idea who Ingrid (mentioned in my friend's review also submitted by Whitney) is, but I believe it was a front desk lady who talked to me very sarcastically (and rolling her eyes) when I asked to talk with the manager.
The valet people were nice but depending on the hour took 30-40 minutes to bring your car (you have to pay valet). One day we just asked for the keys and had to walk to get our car because we would get late for our event and several other guests where away before us. The cars are parked in a parking garage across the hotel. You have to cross a busy street to get the car abou 10 min walk if respectin traffic lights.
To be fair, the only employee who treated us professionally and was very kind was Kesley. I made sure to talk with him before we left the hotel to let him know that we were not upset with him. He did his best to help me and my 3 other friends.
The only good thing to say about this hotel is the location.
Whitney promised to refund one night of the day, and at least she did so. Would never go back to that hotel.
Again, DO NOT BELIEVE THE REVIEWS, specially the ones that mentions Whitney, Oracio, and Ingrid (and maybe other...
Read moreI called the hotel directly on the Tuesday before I booked my stay and was told that the pool was open. I was deceived because they knew I would not have booked at this location knowing the pool was closed since I was traveling with my husband and baby for my first wedding anniversary. After checking in, when we got to the room I had to clean dried urine on the toilet seat in our room. The cabinets were peeling and all the dishes were filthy. The couch cushions were flipped upside down and when I checked it was because the top sides were peeling so bad. The bathroom had a moldy shower and ceiling. We couldn’t get a crib for our 7 month old baby because we checked in at 10/11 o’clock the first night. The next morning I went to the front desk because I was upset about the pool and there was a cockroach crawling on the floor near my feet (I attached the photo). And we were “upgraded” to a room with a balcony where the two mismatched plastic lawn chairs were both broken and my husband fell because the cracked legs buckled underneath him and he is an average sized man about 175 pounds. A chair should have supported him no problem. And the chair I had sat in pinched me because it was crack in the seat but you didn’t know until you sat in it. We had to pay for Valet parking which we were told checking in to call 15 minutes before you needed your car and the first day it took 35 minutes of waiting in the lobby (after calling 20 minutes in advance), we were late for our reservation. The car was never ready for us on time. The day we checked out we called 30 minutes in advance and it took an hour of waiting in the lobby for valet that we were forced to use and pay for to get our car (waited a total hour and a half! Because we called 30 minutes ahead). My family and I ended up spending most of the time in the room because the water was rough for us to swim. Which was why we choose a hotel with a pool to begin with. I called customer care for Wyndham and they told me I would be contacted within a week and I never was. I reached out again and I was very rudely told that only the hotel directly could do anything. So then I called the hotel and they were going to refund us the resort fee $60 and one night of our four night stay (which I don’t feel is enough because I could have stayed home and had a better experience with out spending over $700 after having to tip the valet and concierge) and they still have not refunded me anything. It was all and all a terrible experience for our first wedding anniversary. I am thoroughly disappointed. I don’t know if I’ll ever stay at a Ramada hotel or Wyndham resort. The only plus this hotel has is it is located right...
Read moreSpent 4 nights in the Ramada Marco Polo Beach resort in Miami just last week. I was a bit concerned with some of the reviews I had read prior regarding the run-down state of the property, but really had very little concerns. I'll try to break down a bit....
Leading into the stay, I had read several reviews of staff rudeness, lack of ability to speak/understand English, and just overall negative customer experience. I experienced the opposite.
Upon check-in, the Valet was very pleasant and communicative. He explained the process, gave me a direct cell number to call ahead of time to have car brought up, have me the run-down on expected wait times over the weekend, etc. Once we hit the front desk, there were some issues processing the credit card on the system which would require some calls to be made. Rather than let my family linger in the lobby while this took place (which actually took about 2 hours to correct) the gentleman set us up with access cards and let us go up to our rooms.
The rooms themselves were not bad as I had read in reviews. Yes, the property is not the Ritz Carlton, but the rooms were more than satisfactory. One room was a full ocean view room with a large balcony w awesome view. The other was a partial ocean view. Both rooms were clean and well stocked with amenities.
The Ocean view room had a small refrigerator with a sizable freezer, coffee pot, full sink/kitchenette with glasses, dishes, utensils. The bathroom was sizable and somewhat modern. The king bed was comfortable and not overworn.
The partial view room must have been private owned as it had a full kitchen with electric stove and a full-size refrigerator. This had two queen rooms and was equally presentable.
We did not utilize housekeeping on a daily basis, but the staff was more than willing to provide anything we asked for when we called the front desk, or stopped them in the hallway. Each request was responded to promptly.
The pool and sun deck were spectacular. The pool was crystal clear and well maintained, and the sun deck had many chairs/loungers, as well as direct access to the beach. There is also a bar/grille right on the pool deck serving breakfast and pub menu.
In the lower lobby there is a pizza shop / Italian grill which had very good food at a reasonable price considering you are in a beach front hotel.
One drawback was that the Marco Polo Lounge/restaurant was closed for some reason - leaving no other food options beside the pizza or pool bar (which didn’t open until 9am). There was a coffee counter in the lobby with coffee and pastries as well.
Overall - I would definitely stay at this property again if I visited...
