Initially gave it 3 stars, now going to drop to 1 - let me explain why. Based on a reasonably good prior experience I sent in a few more items, this time entrusting them with a very nice pair of down/leather boots - the issue with the boots was a few small cuts in the fabric, straight lines, approx 1 inch or less. I expected that they would either be returned/rejected as non-reparable or returned looking reasonably good. I guessed that either stitching or perhaps fabric tape would be used to correct the defects. I never imagined that these charcoal gray boots would be returned with a series of 4 mm black plastic jewels glued in a squiggle over the straight cuts - and done symmetrically to match on both boots. My boots are now bedazzled and I am deeply curious as to why they didn't just tell me about the proposed solution before taking on such a creative (and tacky) solution. Oh, and they charged $45 for this "service".
(my prior review is below)
They seem to have done a good job but beware the pricing. 4 light sweaters (2 sleeveless) that weren't really dirty - $9.95 each. 3 pairs of nice pants - $8.95 each (very fair). 1 track jacket which could be considered a special item because of 2 - 1 inch leather strips - marked as "heavy coat" - $15.95. Wedding dress still in the shop - starts at $170 for simple on up for detail. Mine has no detail, we'll see what they charge for that. Thankfully I had a $50 gift card to offset the high pricetag. Depending on how they do with the dress I'll send my nicest garments there, but won't be sending regular items there. I couldn't find a price-list on their website, so my fault also for not asking up-front. The best part is the convenience of pick-up/drop-off at my building, and I guess you pay for that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: Iād like to reply to the owner as the response provided was not helpful. The site does not have steps to file a claim, and Iām not sure what more I should have to do as I already came in person, reviewed video with the manager there of me dropping off the items and the items coming back with my jacket missing, provided pricing and contact information. Your manager and the other male employee that works the front are familiar with the matter. There should be other steps besides you guys paying for the item, which can be done using the phone number under my account: Jessica Herrmann $198. You can also review the videos again of the items being dropped off and coming back.
I rarely leave reviews, and less so poor ones. But I would not recommend this dry cleaners. They lost my blazer and I understand these things happen and they are handing off to a 3rd party to do the cleaning -- but I returned multiple times at their request on the promise that I would receive a check for the item. Twice I wrote down for them my name, number, item price. Their location is no convenient if you are driving due to limited parking space so instead of returning a 3rd time, I called to see if the check was ready. The general manager was out for weeks (again, I understand these things happen) but there was no check left, no notes left in the system, no follow up. I was told to call back the following week, then that the owner would return and call me -- that didn't happen. I shouldn't be working this hard to make myself hole for their error, especially when they want you to pay for the dry cleaning when you drop off the items not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpon arriving at the store, I was assisted by an employee named Yohana, who was helping another customer at the time. I asked for a price quote for the service, and she assured me she would text me the total. I was clear that I would only proceed after reviewing the price and deciding whether I wished to continue with the service.
Unfortunately, I never received the quote until much later in the eveningāafter the shirts had apparently already been processed. The price quoted was shockingly highāmore than the value of the shirts themselves.
As soon as I saw the message, I responded that I did not wish to proceed and that I would return to pick up my items. The next morning, I went back to the store and was told my clothing had already been mixed in and could not be separated. I spoke to the manager, who offered 50% offāyet the discounted total still exceeded $150, which is far above market rate for such services.
I returned again as instructed, only to be met once more by Yohana, who told me the manager was on site but would not speak with me. She reiterated that no further reduction would be made and that the manager āalready gave you the price.ā
This experience feels not only deceptive but unethical. No clear pricing was provided up front, my explicit request to be informed before service was ignored, and I was ultimately left with no option but to pay an outrageous feeāor leave the clothes behind.
In many reputable establishments, ironing services average $3ā$5 per shirt. Charging more than $150, especially without prior approval, is unreasonable and...
