Honestly would give this place 4.5 out of 5. Since cannot give half stars on google review, I’m rounding it up for an overall wonderful experience:
I went with a group of friends in July 2024 and stayed in their Deluxe Family Suite. I don’t have photos without people in it but I’ll describe the room! So the room door is right attached to the parking lot, so short walk! The parking lot is not that big either. Once you enter the door, you see two bunk beds, so 4 beds basically. They are relatively short bunk and very sturdy. In that same area, there’s also a pull out couch and a tv. Then, there’s an entrance to a very big bathroom area with jacuzzi, toilet, large double sinks, shower with glass door. One bathroom. Then there’s a smaller room for one king bed. The room can definitely sleep 7 people comfortably.
Pros: If you want to bring a group of friends and like the idea of staying in one room, this would be perfect! If you like the idea of having more space, then this might be too small for you. At that time, this was the cheapest hotel nearby. Maybe prices fluctuates but for the cheapest hotel we could find, it was really great! One of my friends went the year before and she said it’s been renovated and much better now; so if you came in the past, I think things have changed now with the renovation and you might want to give it a try again! Walking distance to water area, food / breakfast places, a cruise ship is right there also. We booked the Tahoe Gal but it was cancelled a few hours before we could go for maintenance, otherwise this is pretty exciting to be able to just walk a few short minutes from the hotel to take that 2 hour cruise around the lake. Pretty bummed when the cruise (not affiliated with Boatworks I think) cancelled. Short drive to other fun places too! Dog friendly! Friendly staff but very busy. They are relatively chill, fast, and friendly. Very busy because the place was sold out the time I went.
Cons: If you’re going with a group of people that do not feel comfortable changing in the open, this might be a slight hassle. The bathroom provides privacy but can only be used by one person at a time since the bathtub and toilet has no divider and the bathroom area is divided by a glass door so people can see. If everyone is comfortable with each other there might be less of a hassle. But still, keep in mind if you are bringing a large family that there’s only 1 toilet. Interesting design. Wasn’t a problem for us thankfully. There was 3 or 4 moths that night by the lights. Thankfully I’m not scared of them so I killed them all but my friends were a little scared haha. I think that’s because of just the area we’re at. On our second night there, the parking lot was full. Thankfully there were street parking. It could be a little stuffy in there but the AC helps a lot!
I personally will...
Read moreWe stayed for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday). On Saturday night, we got back from skiing and there was no warm or hot water starting around 4:30pm. We waited some time to see if it would come back and we informed the front desk around 5:30pm. After confirming it was an issue affecting everyone, we were told to wait around 30-45 minutes to try again. We tried again and nothing. I went to the front desk at 7pm and they said the warm/hot water was not back yet and they were going to shut it off so guests would not try to use it (if I hadn't gone to the lobby, I don't think they were going to tell me this). We were not able to shower as the water was frigid cold and also were disappointed, since we paid extra to get the room with the big bathtub and were not able to use it. For the rest of the night, no one came around to provide an update that the issue would not be resolved that night. Next morning we tried the warm/hot water again and STILL NOTHING. The lack of communication around this issue was frustrating and I wish it was handled better (a note on the door or a knock on the door saying it would not be resolved for 12+ hours would have been helpful). I would not mind a freezing cold shower in the summer, but this is March in the middle of a big snowfall, so we were definitely not pleased with how this issue was handled by the Inn staff. We had to leave Sunday before 8am so we were not able to express our dissatisfaction in person, but I wanted my feedback to be received so future guests have a better experience in case this...
