With all the delicious choices in there for a chocoholic, it's hard to even know where to begin. First of all, it's great to have places like these, locally owned boutique shops that offer the best in the category. Of course you'll find the usual trays and trays of house chocolates that all scream "pick me, pick me." However, I have a soft spot for fudge and I got a fair sized portion and was it ever so dense, full of flavor and devilishly good. Eating it is like mainlining something awful...ly so rich, it's like sinning in real-time. Even the Pope would indulge. There's all kinds of sugar stuff in there it's insane, jelly beans, chocolate bars from Europe, Asia, where they make 'em better than the U.S. I'm also a sucker for root beer, which they had plenty of. And if I get sent to hell for all my sinning, then let this be my hell.

Was craving some chocolate after a delicious lunch down the street. Did a simple Google search and journeyed our way to Tahoe City Chocolates. It's located inside a mall on the second floor. It's on the right hand side at the end of the hall when you are at the top of the staircase. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by two friendly gentlemen, who were immediately eager to let us sample their sweet fare and introduce various imported chocolate. We tried so many samples we felt guilty! This is one of the most knowledgeable chocolate shops I've ever been. If you tell them what you like, they can recommend something to fulfill that craving! They offer plenty of homemade chocolate and imported chocolate/ candies you don't normally see, even in an import shop. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back!

We got green tea and pumpkin ice cream which are not typical flavors but they were amazing. I don’t usually like pumpkin-flavored anything but this was an exception for sure. The texture of the ice cream is to die for. They knew all about their chocolate and candy and even encouraged us to ask any questions we had about them. They gave us free samples without us asking as well which was much appreciated. Definitely would go back once we visit Tahoe again!

The best chocolate/sweet shop I have ever been to in all my travels. The guys who run this shop are so kind natured, truly lovely and oh so knowledgeable about everything chocolate and sweet! We had such a magical experience in their store yesterday - we were greeted with so much warmth and after much cheery conversation we were asked what type of chocolates we like, and then were recommended different chocolates and sweets based on what we told them - every single chocolate and sweet they suggested was exactly what we would liked - they listened and advised and were so on point with their suggestions (gladly welcomed suggestions as there are so many options in this shop, you could be there all day deciding what to get!). The chocolates at the counter that they are making in this shop are truly something special - we bought a small selection, walked down to the lake to enjoy them and had to go back to get more after our walk. The coconut chocolate is insanely good, as are the assorted fresh berry truffles, and the cherry jelly and raspberry jelly chocolates are genius - never tried anything like them. If you are in Tahoe and you want a magical, joyous experience go to this shop - the chocolates and sweets are magnificent, as are the wonderful humans working there! Thank you so much for a truly heartwarming experience yesterday, we...

the owner tried to sell a candy mystery grab bag to my son. He advertised the bag as a great deal, $25 value for a $10 bargain, with wonderful candy. After his deceiving pitch, my son decided to purchase the grab bag with his own money. My son opened the bag, which contained vegan, gluten free peanut butter pellets, a rice crispy treat, a cinnamon candy, and EXPIRED cookies! I immediately went to the store to try and exchange just the expired cookies. The owner did not care that the cookies were expired stating that "the cookies are still good after the expiration date" and that "they are wonderful." I was shocked by his response, and tried to reason with him. The owner even tried to trick us by saying that the cookies were Australian-made so the expiration date is later. In the end, the owner would NOT exchange the cookies, and did not give us anything in return. Deceitful, wrong, and...
