I've been visiting Commons Beach every summer since I moved to Reno, & as always, it's a beautiful, classic beach to go spend a day of the weekend at (without the ocean part!!).

My reason for four stars is that something was missing this year...the live bands. If you've ever partied on Commons Beach prior to Covid, you know that the live music is really an essential, key part to the summer vibes.

I looked around, & was incredibly happy to see that 97% of people were mask-free. However, I wish the few people that did decide to wrap them around their faces, as soon as they got out of the water, wouldn't have. There's really, truly no reason for it, except as a statement of their own arrogance.

Also, an old lady almost tore into me for throwing a (real) flower on the ground while I was sitting in my car. I had to explain to her that flowers are not considered litter. Locals obviously do NOT care for cars with Nevada plates 🧐 don't forget...1/3 of the lake is in...

Lake Tahoe Adventure-Commons Beach We went here on Thursday, June 19, 2025! We set off on a beautiful 2-hour drive and finally arrived at Lake Tahoe around 11 AM. Parking can be tricky here, but we got lucky with a great spot after a little wait. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by friendly guards and the vibrant Farmers Market bustling with local goodies. The beach was stunning. We found a perfect spot to set up our picnic right on the sandy shores with a breathtaking view of the lake. The kids had an absolute blast playing in the sand, swimming, and renting kayaks. The staff and other visitors were so welcoming, making our day even more enjoyable. With clean facilities and plenty of space to relax, we spent nearly 6 hours soaking in the sun, playing, and making memories together.

If you’re looking to escape the heat this summer, I highly recommend Lake Tahoe! It’s the perfect...

Chill, beautiful park, but no dogs allowed. If they make it no kids also I will change my review to reflect this (we are talking 5 stars here TC park admins reading this, ban kids??? Kids can be super annoying and they poop on the beach too. Other than that this is a solid park/beach. I dont dislike kids or anything, just maybe prefer dogs and I'm totally down to meet in the middle and go for one adult only beach, like maybe 24 and over, I think we can all agree teenagers basically suck... I'm drifting.) Okay, seriously speaking and moving on Commons is a good spot and the movies in the summer are cool. Good location for a walk to...

We travelled from Reno to Lake Tahoe to do some hiking on June 7, 2019. As we drove in (wearing shorts and t-shirts), we questioned our apparel; the people we saw were wearing puffy jackets and long pants. And when we got out of the car, we understood why. It was cold! I would guess about twelve Celsius (I think about fifty-four Fahrenheit). Our walk around was very short, but the view was lovely. [NB: As you can probably tell, the pictures are not of the beach itself, but were taken about a fifteen minute drive from the beach].
