We booked this hotel for one night to go to the USF and Miami Hurricanes game. The room was over priced at 183.00 plus they held 50.00 deposit. Upon going to our room 418 the tv only had 5 Spanish channel my husband called the front desk and the supervisor by the name of Neri Lopez came and saw it only had 5 channels. She called maintenance and they scanned and got 18 channels of nothing we watch. The front desk gave me a channel guide and the TV could not get any of those channels. We were in and out after that and left for the football game. We returned at 1am I notice the air wasn’t blowing but we were tired and took showers and went to bed I started sweating and got up 4 time and video each time that the air wasn’t kicking on the thermostat was stuck at 74 which was the room temperature and never came on I tried to lower to 70 and turned off and on it kicked in then shut right back. off I have allergies and my eyes was red from no air circulation In the room now just my small air purifier.I was so pissed we just got up and went to check out at 6 am. I saw Neri Lopez at the front and told her what we experience and wasn’t satisfied with the hot room and no tv station that the list had . She apologize and said when Danielle gets in at 7 am she would fix the bill and apologized again. I called at 8:40 ask for Danielle who answered the phone and explain who I was and why I was calling. She said Neri Lopez told her and she was the manager. I said well I am a paying customer and explained what happened she said you are not getting a full refund and besides the air conditioner is working and why didn’t we call the front desk 1am in the morning she could have move us it’s 1 am in the morning we not trying to be moved that late and how did we know some one would come to look at the ac that time of the morning. She said I will give you 30.00!! Is she CRazy!!!-Danielle was very Rude and told me she would hang up on me if I am talking a certain way to her. She need to be retrained . She said call corporate she would not talk to me because she has a lobby full of people and hung. This is straight bad management and customer service and my husband paid for a room for 183.00 and we sweat and couldn’t even watch tv. I need a call from corporate and an apology from Daniele the so call manager of this holiday inn express this by far is the worst I have ever experienced. It is unacceptable I am also a travel agent and Realtor I will never ever recommend that hotel and will put in the data base what I experienced I am not letting this go!! I need a response and satisfaction. Signed The paying customer that was offered 30.00 as an inconvenience fee!! I’m not accepting it! Corporate need to contact me asap! I had to use my own small personal air purifier because the air wasn’t coming on! Disgraceful stay!

I'll give 5 stars to the room, pool, the afternoon and morning front desk clerks. The rest of this hotel gets less than 1 star. May 29, 2024, check-in was quick and we were given a fourth-floor room. Room was very nice. Beds were comfy. Clean and updated overlooking Tampa Bay. Bathroom was well stocked. Pool and grounds were nice. But that's where the positive experience ended. We had 6 large suitcases that needed to be brought in for the night due to an early shuttle departure from the hotel. At 5:45 am I saw the sign on the only elevator stating it wasn't working. I had to take 4 flights of stairs just to get to the lobby.and front desk. I asked if they would have this elevator working by 9 am because that is my scheduled shuttle time to TPA. The clerk stated that they haven't called an emergency service person to get it fixed, yet. So, no it wouldn't be fixed. That meant everyone on floors 2-4 had to hike up and down the very hot stairwell just to get out of the hotel. Many elderly people were trapped in their rooms and the night shift girl at the front desk couldn't help anyone get down. Meanwhile, the shuttle to the airport, which only picks up on an hourly basis, knew of the time-consuming issue this hotel was facing at 6am. Because I had to lug my large suitcases up and down the 4 flights of stairs, it took 10-15 minutes extra. I was at the lobby's front door at 8:57 am. This driver came early, knowing that the elevator was broken and that people were going to be late getting down to the shuttle area. This inconsiderate shuttle driver, who made eye contact and heard me call out to him, purposely drove off w/o us before 9 am. I couldn't believe this just happened. Thankfully, the morning front desk lady called this shuttle back to the hotel to pick us up. It was an awful start to the last day of our Florida vacation. I would not stay here again. There are plenty of hotels in the area that have better working equipment, better ways to handle broken equipment and definitely better shuttle service to TPA.

I'm very fond of the Holiday Inn Express brand so this review is difficult to write. First, the good things: there's a shuttle to the airport, free WiFi, and complimentary breakfast. More importantly, the not-so-good things: *Our room didn't have a telephone (we looked in the drawers), so in order to contact the front desk, I had to do a google search for the phone number. *The back side of the bathroom door had obvious water damage; the laminated part of the door had split apart from the wood and was peeled back a few inches. *The beds were hard--not what I've experienced before at other Holiday Inn Express hotels. *The hallways smelled faintly of urinal cakes (according to my spouse). *The only luggage cart we could find had a broken axle on one of the wheels and the wheel ended up falling off. The front desk associate couldn't (or didn't know how to) fix it, so we had to navigate the cart precariously to/from the elevator with just the three wheels. *The IHG app filters this hotel into searches specifying an airport shuttle, but the hotel’s website states that there is no airport shuttle. Very confusing and worrying, since I booked the hotel last-minute (for a nonrefundable room) assuming that the app was correct and then a family member pointed out the conflicting information on the website. I alerted the front desk associate of the issue. *The airport shuttle runs only once an hour at the top of the hour, which didn't end up working for us and we had to take alternative transportation. If we're ever in need of a hotel near the Tampa airport in the future, I'll look for other hotel options first before returning here.

Worst experience, Ruined our Anniversary !!!!! Where should I begin, when checking in they couldn't find our reservation. The two ladies looked at each other confused than us and asked if must have the room we reserved online. We said yes, then they said they were overbooked and all they had was room 110. We stated that we guessed we didn't have a choice and took the room. They said it would be the same, however, the room faced the parking lot versus the bay view we expected for our anniversary. We accepted it after the manager with pink braids says that's all we got left. What we do not understand is why to make a reservation on the Holiday Inn Express website for a bay view, pay for it, and not be given the right room. The reason we picked this bay room view with a king-size bed is that there were multiple rooms available online. When we opened the room door there was a musty smell and our room looked like it was a room under construction. It looked like a room that should be on the do not rent out the list. I went to use the phone to complain but there was no phone cable attached? So I went to the desk and the lead manager with the pink braids only said ok to my complaint, she did not apologize or seem to care. When I got back to the room, I was going to watch TV while my wife showered and noticed that there was also no remote for the television. So it's comical I couldn't call while waiting for the service guy to bring us a cord for the phone. We also noticed excessive dust all over the room, the easy chair, and foot ottoman were filthy dirty with tears in them and stains so vivid it scary to sit in. My favorite part of this experience was when my wife went into the bathroom to shower and yelled out that there was no shower head but just a big hole in the wall. As we checked around the bathroom we noticed how filthy and disgusting it was. While looking under the bathroom sink the dust was so noticeable, the only clean parts were where the towels would have been. My wife was so upset she then called the office to tell them how dirty this room was and all they nonchalantly said was okay sorry bout that. After the showerhead was fixed we also noticed that there was a mount on the wall for a hairdryer but no hairdryer to be found. Steve the maintenance guy told us that the showerhead was missing because some drunk woman pulled down as she fell. I am assuming that the blood left behind on the tub was from her accident. It was our wedding anniversary and I called the manager to let her know I wanted a refund on my reserved stay for two days, she said if you stay I will reach out to our GM and see what he decides for a discount. If you leave I can refund your money, I said I have no choice at this point, where am I going to find a hotel at 6 pm that takes a walk-in. Plus, we had dinner reservations within the hour. She just said ok I will get back to you. Once again, no apology or customer service skills. Since it was our anniversary, I had purchased a brand new shirt from the mall that needed to be ironed. I pulled out the ironing board, added some water to the iron, and heated it up. The iron was not working properly, had black stuff in the water reservoir, and ruined my brand new shirt. Luckily, I had brought another one with me or we would not have been able to go to our dinner reservation. Mysteriously, when we returned from dinner, the mount was taken off the wall and a brand new hairdryer appeared. We had still not heard from the Gm or any management. Once we got home we called the hotel again to see if we could speak to the GM. We were told that he was in a meeting and Anna the front desk supervisor asked if she could help. She said she was gone for a few days and heard bits and pieces of the problem. The best part of our bad experience was the serviceman Steve who was more apologetic and genuine in saying he was sorry that the stay has been a nightmare and he would let management know. He was the bright spot during our visit otherwise we had the worst hotel experience in our lifetime. We travel extensively and always stay at IHG hotels all over but this by far was the worst representation of your hotel group and was not acceptable by any standards. Our anniversary getaway was ruined. This Rocky Point location was chosen specifically for the bay view which we were beyond disappointed to not see. We will never go to Rocky point ever again. If I could give no stars I would because the filthy room we were forced to accept and stay in does not even begin to explain how we really feel. They changed our sheets the next day but did not clean anything we discussed with the manager on duty with the pink braids. She was a poor example of management and representation of an IHG hotel. We have been proud members of the IHG brand for over eight years. I cannot say anything positive besides a thank you to the maintenance man Steve for caring and being sincere. We have photographs of everything and are happy to share. It would only allow us to share 6 photos but we have more. Worst experience ever !! Very disappointed and...

We had booked this hotel to stay local to the Tampa airport as we had an early departure date the following morning so I was willing to pay a bit more for location and shuttle service that was provided. What I can say is the front desk from the time we booked, checked in early and also the late shift worker were absolutely great to work with and answered all of our questions we had. That was about the only thing good that happened at our stay. I stay strictly at IHG for all my work and pleasure and often times 15-20 different hotels on a yearly basis. This was the exact opposite of what I experience at any holiday and by far the worst hotel I have stayed in since becoming a member. The room we had 2 queen beds and a pull out couch. When we arrived, we attempted to sit down on the couch but almost fell through as it appeared the springs were entirely broken. The floors were completely dirty and after a few hours noticed our socks completely black from the carpet. The bathroom had rust stains and apparent water damage all over the ceilings and walls, the door threshold and trim had rust and was so exposed it was actually sharp if you made contact. There was also water damage in the main room as well. When we arrived I noticed a pizza flyer on the floor but there was no other restaurant menu or folder to review local restaurants or locations to go to, I asked the front desk and they advised they did not have anything. We resorted to ordering from this location and it was a complete nightmare. We are convinced that the pizza company was not actually a business but they actually advertised for other local business’s and when you placed your order they would sub contract and go pickup the food. It took over 2 hours to receive and we tried to cancel multiple times with no answer. The company had no website as well, again this is not IHG fault but the issue I have is we had another flyer slide under our door at midnight with a similar menu but different company name, trying to disguise themselves as another food location!!!! How can this hotel allow companies to come in especially at this time of the day and solicit their false business this way and not have actual recommendations for the guests? At the end of the night, we went to set up our bed and had a major issue with the pull out couch. The entire spring was broken and you would fall through the mattress to the floor. On top of that, it appeared that someone attempted to repair the mattress with a coat hanger? The coat hanger metal was wrapped around multiple times but then sticking straight up in the air 10”+!!!!!!!!! I have a 5 and 7 year active kids and have no idea how they did not get stabbed by this and have it puncture them. I went downstairs to ask for a rollout bed option because of this and showed pictures to prove it, they advised they may have only 1 single rollout and could take 30-60 minutes to get, our kids needed to go to bed early for our flight and we needed 2 single beds then or a safe place to stay. There were people running the halls almost all evening until 3 AM and the walls and hallway were not quite or sound proof by any means, should there not be a curfew? I would never recommend this hotel to anyone unless there were significant upgrades to the entire facility. There were much cheaper options only a few miles further as well. Again, I have never written a review for IHG or felt the need to as I have had great experiences with your company but this needs to be addressed. There are multiple safety concerns and violations and someone needs to review this immediately for the sake of your guests and employees at...
