Bahama Breeze — Restaurant in Tampa

This was a great setup. I checked into my room at Holiday Express in Tampa, my first night. I decided to try the Bahamas Breeze Restaurant. I'm here to take a 3 day class, so I'm on a budget, and I was not disappointed. Jay was my waiter. Great guy to serve you. First the tea you might think really TEA yup the tea. If you're a real tea drinker, especially unsweetened tea, most restaurants serve strong tea, not this place. It was a perfect brewed not to stong and didn't taste like water. Served with lemon. Second, the house salad was awesome. I'm a blue cheese person, and I don't like tomatoes. The dressing that was given was really good, and the cherry tomatoes were actually crisp and sweet. A lot of time when you get cherry tomatoes are soft and just bland. I was impressed, but it didn't end there. I ordered the bacon burger. Now, when I order medium rare, it usually comes out over cooked, but this one came out at MEDIUM RARE absolutely juicy flavorful . Fries were crispy like i asked. The price was perfect, $25 l. I will be going back tomorrow night to try their chicken wings instead of going to Whiskey Joe's. I like being able to walk from my hotel to the restaurant and not spend a fortune. I spoke to the service manager Melanie to inform her of the good service,food, and price. She was so nice and approachable anywhere on the restaurant floor. I saw her all over making sure everyone was taken care of. She did one more thing that made her a great manager that you wouldn't see all the time and was not expecting. Like I said, I'm on a budget and was full. She gave me a desert to eat in my room for later. When I come back this way, I will definitely bring my wife and children to this hotel Holiday Inn Express and go to Bahamas Breeze Restaurant again. This is the place to go if you want a good meal, good atmosphere, and a price that fits your budget. Definitely go here. Thank you for a wonderful experience. See you tomorrow night...

We got there about 715pm, parking lot was crazy busy and a line of people waiting outside for a table.

We thought when we walked up that we would be waiting at least 45-60 minutes however the line was for people waiting on tables outside.

We were sat immediately in the bar area for the 4 of us. Tommy came over quickly. We ordered drinks and appetizers. You cannot go wrong with a tasty Bahamarita 😋 the coconut shrimp was very good, love the sauce that comes with it. We ordered chicken wings thinking they only had the jerk flavor from all the times we visit the Lutz location not realizing they had buffalo when it was brought out. The wings were good but so spicy, unsure of what temps of spicyness they offer. I ordered the steak medium rare, it was extremely tender and had no seasoning so I just added salt and pepper for flavor. My husband ordered the jerk chicken. He said it was good but a little dry. Our friends ordered two of the chicken dishes. They looked amazing but her husband’s chicken was extremely raw. When he went to cut into the one of the two slices of chicken, he realized how pink it was. Needless to say, he lost his appetite. He told Tommy he was fine, he didn’t want anything. The manager came over and said there was another dish coming but he insisted he was fine at that point. She took the meal off his check.

Overall, a great dinner for us as our drinks were great and prices were good for what we got: 4 bahamaritas, coconut shrimp, wings, jerk chicken and the steak $121.

From the host to the server, we had nothing but issues. We asked for a table for 5, preferably a booth. We were told there were no booths available. We were then seated at a booth for four. Wrong size and you just told us you didn't have any booths! Server took over ten minutes to come greet us after being seated. Once he did come, he said we needed to order quickly as lunch ended in another five minutes and the prices would go up. Didn't matter we had already had plenty of time to look over the menu, but we would have had plenty of time if you hadn't taken ten minutes to come over to us. Also if the policy is your prices change at a set time, not with the menu you're offered, then the host should have given us both menus and stated that the prices would be changing in around 20 minutes. Half our food came out, and we had to ask for our server to come to the table another 10 minutes later to ask about the rest of our tables food, that he then had to go have rushed from the kitchen. Needless to say, it was well after the "you need to order in the next five minutes for our lunch rates" that we all had our meals. Never got refills on any drinks, even the two that ordered water, and it wasnt until we were being handed the bill that we finally got our son's apple juice that was ordered the same time as the food.
