When I checked in, I was told there would be no eggs or bacon in the morning, but he said there would be a selection of danishes and a lot of other things to choose from. We got there in plenty of time in the morning and the selection was horrible. 3 containers for cereal, but only had cherios and bran flakes. Nothing 'fun.' The pastries consisted of stale white bread, small plain frozen bagels and some small muffins. No danishes, donuts etc. One of the main reasons we stayed there was because they were supposed to have a good breakfast, and having been to other LaQuintas, I expected much better, as did other guests as I heard at least 3 others complaining (and there were only about 7-8 people there).
We had reserved a 'forest view' room. Instead, they gave us a room overlooking the top of the carport of the entrance... tar, paint, and dirt. There were a few trees behind it. When I said something to the desk clerk, they said they didn't have any 'forest view' rooms available... As that was my reservation, shouldn't one have been held for me? To make things worse, the next morning I asked if any had become available and was told no. But, a man was checking out and said he was leaving one of the forest view rooms, so one was becoming available. But, the woman at the desk said no, that's assigned to go to someone else checking in. Why them and not me?
After going out for the day, we came back and we were locked out of our room. I went downstairs and the clerk said that they had only set the code for 1 day. He gave new keys. But the next morning when checking out, I mentioned it to the clerk and she said that she had double checked the previous morning that the codes were set correctly. So, I don't know what happened there, but it was fixed quickly. Then, when we went into the room, all the air conditioning had been turned off and it was hot and humid in the room. I turned it on, but it didn't come on. There are 2 controls in the room, I tried both. I was told the thermostat on the wall was the one that works. But, the 2nd digit numbers on it were not showing. The screen was broken. I finally got it somewhat working, but it kept going off. So, an uncomfortable night.
Getting ice, there was a place for a machine with a sign on our floor (3) and the 4th floor, but I had to go down to the lobby to get ice. Not a big deal, but just on top of the rest.
Even with all these problems, nothing was done to try to make it right. One or 2 problems, things happen, but this was constant. And the clerks seemed to be used to these kinds of things, as they all shrugged it off (except the night time guy seemed concerned, but he didn't do anything either). On the plus side, there was plenty of parking (probably because the hotel was fairly empty), and the rooms were clean (not sparkling, but clean).
Just to top it all off, a couple days after our stay, they sent me a long survey asking about our stay, with a lot of places to fill in comments and they were pretty redundant in some of their questions. It took probably 20 minutes to fill out. And, I mentioned all the problems, left my contact info. I gave it a week, and never heard back from them. So, why send a survey if you are just going to ignore...
Read moreFirst I booked a hotel with a pool. I go to check in. I'm told no pool closed for awhile for construction. Then as checking into my room I was greeted by this crazy shirtless man. He looked like he wanted to kill me. Then after dinner I go to shower and the curtain has red all over the inside. To me it was blood. I look out my door and there is crazy man. So I left only being there for a few hours. Nobody wanted to refund me because I was told I booked through a 3rd party. Now mind you I am a Wyndham member. So I called the number for reservations. After leaving I drove about a hour to another motel to sleep. Since I didn't sleep for 2.5 days. I then contact customer service after I got home. But I also sent a email as soon as I checked in also. Wyndham offer's me 3000 points. That will not even pay for a quarter of a night stay. So I responded back to no that will not work. Then they offered 4200 points. At this time I feel like they are insulting me. They know they were wrong that's why they are offering something. I call customer care to be hung up on. I tell them I want a refund. I did not shower or sleep there . I was told they need the information for the other room I rented in order to be refunded. First thing is I threw that receipt away because I was not trying to have them pay for it. So now I would have to call the place and get a receipt and all that. My point is even if I didn't get a room. Their service was horrible. I did not receive what I paid for. On top of that the crazy man walking up and down the hallway and the nasty shower curtain. I was there maybe 3 hours. Which 2 of them I was out to eat. So as of now I'm fighting for re inbursement. When I call customer service and ask for a supervisor or someone in charge they say they are it. Not being rude but I can barely understand what they are saying. To top it off they each make up their own little story on why I can not get my money back. I'm pulling my hair out. This is not how you run a business and treat customers. Again I am a Wyndham member. When you call the membership number and are done your reservation they transfer you to a sales person trying to sale you a timeshare. Every dam time. If you ever dealt with this before you would understand. I just want to be refunded my money for the room that was not up to standards and the fact there was...
Read moreExcellent value hotel. Very quiet end of July 2025. I was able to get a $65/night rate, which is realistically all it's worth. Pool is CLOSED summer 2025, possibly permanently. Small fitness center is available. Breakfast is included and is served from 6:30a to 9:30a. Free coffee is also available at breakfast and well into the afternoon, which is very good. Consisted of scrambled eggs, bagels with butter or cream cheese, toast, make your own waffles (very good), cold cereal, mini muffins, coffee, tea, orange and apple juice. Everything was very good, clean, and well stocked. Possibly because it's a pet friendly hotel, the entire property has a strong, pungent odor of some kind of cleaning chemical. You get used to it, but it's very strong. You notice it immediately as you enter. If you're sensitive to smells, this isn't the property for you. The room is very spacious. Bed was phenomenal. Slept great. On the firmer side, which I prefer. Good TV, lots of channels. Cold AC, which held up well in a heat wave. Room cleanliness was probably a 6/10. I'm not super picky, so it didn't bother me. But hair in the shower, floor in the bathroom/hallway was dirty. I didn't go barefoot. If you're a stickler for room cleanliness, don't book here. It's merely passable. There's a couch seating area as well. Desk, chair, table, plenty of room to spread out and eat or work if you'd like. Near a Circle K, McDonalds, Olive Garden, RaceTrac convenience store, Chase Bank and right off I-75 exit. For $65/night, I'd book it, but not much...
