Worst Pizza EVER!
I stopped by this place for a quick bite after playing 2 hours of ice hockey and needless to say, I was famished and when I first walked in the joint, it smelled so good I wanted to die!!!
Although the service was OK, and the pie looked amazing, I could barely keep my first bite down... The dough was so off, I couldn't take another bite. Thank God for the Coke that saved me from choking! I washed that nasty mouthful of doughy cheese with the entire can of cola and called that experience over.
For $10.65, I got 2 horrible slices of pizza, 3 dense meatballs and a can of Coke.
Like I said, the Coke was awesome, but I'm pretty sure no one at New York Pizzeria had anything to do with getting soda in a can. LOL
The meatballs were dense, and impossible for me to cut with plastic utensils. #Bummer b/c once again, they looked spot on but one bite was enough for me.
What do I know about pizza and meatballs?
I've had pizza all over the place, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, New York City, Chicago, San Fransisco, Orlando, Miami, Tampa, Berlin (in Germany), Cairo (yes, in Egypt!) and even Rome, the capital of all places, Italy. :)
I am partial to Montreal pizza (3X Canadian pepperoni & cheese please!) although close second, and the only option on the menu here in Florida, authentic NY pizza. The pizza I had today at New York Pizzeria was, without a doubt, the WORST EVER.
As for meatballs, I just wasn't impressed with them seeing how my 13 year old daughter Grace can do better (for much cheaper than $5.00!!!), and I'm certain of it, use fresher, healthier ingredients for example, eggs from our own chickens and ducks, beef & veal from our neighbor and pork from our own hogs (already in the freezer!)
This place gets 1/2 star for the cold Coke and 1/2 star the cook who doubles as the host, who doubles as a server, who doubles as a cashier. He was alright. So, that's that.
To him who has an ear, let him...

Taste of New York Pizzeria isn't just a place to grab a fantastic slice; it's become a cherished family spot, and my toddler absolutely adores it! From the moment we walk in, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff are always friendly and patient (which any parent with a busy little one knows is a HUGE plus!), and the aroma of baking pizza is simply divine.
But the real magic happens when the pizza arrives. The crust is that perfect balance of crispy and chewy, the sauce is rich and flavorful without being overpowering, and the toppings are always fresh and generous. My little one, who can be a notoriously picky eater, devours their plain cheese slice with gusto every single time. It's become a ritual – "Pizza place!" is practically their favorite phrase.
What makes Taste of New York truly stand out is how accommodating they are to families. They always have high chairs readily available, and the staff never bat an eye at the occasional toddler-induced mess (which, let's be honest, is inevitable). They even offer smaller slices that are perfect for little hands.
Beyond the incredible food and service, there's a genuine, welcoming vibe that makes us feel like regulars. It's the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy a delicious meal without feeling stressed about having a toddler in tow.
If you're looking for authentic, mouthwatering New York-style pizza and a family-friendly experience that will have even your littlest one asking for "more!", look no further than Taste of New York Pizzeria. It's a five-star experience through and through, and a weekly highlight for our family! We can't wait for...
Read moreNEW OWNERS ⚠️ New Tampa Staple gone 🥺 We’ve been getting . Pizza from this particular location for over 7 years maybe more. My son had his taste of slice from here who’s now turning 6 this year. The pizza 🍕 is amazing. New Owners as of maybe a month ago and it’s funny because the day we decided to order I asked my fiance if we should get blaze pizza and he said no taste of New York is always our spot. I ordered and when I went to pick up I immediately knew something was up there was a long line and two men bouncing back and forth from oven to register. Openly saying they needed help and are under staffed. MY thoughts are if you’re taking over a business why be so under prepared. Looking at our Pie I could IMMEDIATELY tell they changed something because the pepperoni was smaller and had that burnt curl to it rather that cooked into the cheese as usual. It even tasted different. Garlic chicken knots were burnt for the first time ever and not enough garlic and butter seasoning as were used to. The second time we ordered there was WAY TO MUCH CHEESE cheesy pizza is awesome yes but when it’s blobbed on and slides off in chunks not only are you eating product but ruining the ability for the cheese to melt and bake evenly. Food...
