I wish I can share a good experience about this place because the dishes we ordered (lamb and okra) were superb, but the service was so bad I couldn't let it pass. The server didn't greet us, nor smile. He just put down 2 bottled water without saying anything. Then he came back about 20 seconds after handing us the menú, and just stood there waiting for us to order something. I asked if we were getting charged for the bottled water and when he said yes, I asked for tap water. But instead, he gave us room temperature bottled water and still got charged. He never checked us during our meal, and I had to go to the kitchen to let him know we're done and ready to go. If I could give NO stars for service I would. The only service we received technically was when our leftovers were packed to go. I hope it was just because it was off hours, or maybe because we're not from the same culture as his. We've been to a few Indian restaurants in Bergen county, and based from this experience, I would NOT...
Read moreWe booked the entire space for a family event, and when we arrived they were not ready for us. Tables were filthy and not set up for us, and when we asked to rearrange the tables they refused. The server was the owner I presume and ignored us or rudely responded when we asked for things.
When we asked for a straw, her response was, "Well, you're going to have to wait." When we asked for wine glasses, they brought us dirty glasses, some of which had dead roaches in them, and she looked at us like we had 2 heads when we requested that the glasses be cleaned. The place is just filthy and the service was terrible. I've worked in the restaurant industry for years and I'll leave the owners with this advice: If you can't handle a party of 30 then maybe maybe don't book a...
Read moreWonderful experience here. It's very authentic and seems to be family-run. The woman who served us was incredibly nice and the food was delicious. The ambiance was not high-end, but everything was clean and fine. Prices were just slightly higher than average - dinner for 2 with no drinks was about $45. We sincerely appreciated that they packed us extra rice in our to-go bag, what a nice touch. I had the paneer makhani and I enjoyed it very much. They were generous portions and the chutney and tamarind sauce that came with the papadam were very flavorful. The naan was hot and buttery and garlicky, just as I like it! Lots of vegetarian options. I...
