I stayed here for one night in early April 2025 as I explored the Capitol Reef area. The Motel Torrey is very convenient for Capitol Reef. You can be at the visitor center in about 15 minutes and to the park entrance in 10 or so. ||I love that this is a retro roadside motel without being run down. In fact, quite the opposite. I found it updated, clean, and comfy. I had a nice-sized room with a king bed. You get to park your car right in front of your room which makes hauling in luggage easy. You also don't check in at the office. A code for your room's lock is texted to you right before check-in time. ||The only downside of this place is that with it being old, the walls are not exactly sound-proof. If you are a light sleeper, then I would probably bring ear plugs. I could hear my neighbors' conversations but they seemed to go to bed early and I slept just fine.||There is an outstanding Mexican restaurant practically 500 feet away, so it makes your lunch or dinner plans easy. If I ever visit Capitol Reef again, you can bet I will be staying at the...
Read moreWhat a nice surprise! This is a small motel with approx 11 rooms. We booked it online the day we needed it and were promptly sent a code to unlock the door of our room. Our number didn’t work and when I texted the number that sent me our code, I was sent a phone number to call if I could not get into the room. I called the number and the person on the phone apologized and me that they had changed the locks yesterday and gave me a new code that immediately worked- whole incident took less than 5 minutes! Room was spotless and bed was super comfortable. We had a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee pot and tea pot. There was Also a little sign that said the coffee mugs were there for us to use and we could take one home as well!! They were cute with the hotel logo on them. Such a cute extra!! I’m weird about taking a bath in a hotel because I’m worried about how clean it is? Not here! Tub was spotless and I enjoyed a nice long soak after exploring the park! There are several places to eat that are very close. Great experience here!...
Read moreThe owner, Stewart and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Due to family emergency I have to check out many days earlier than planned and Stewart only charge me for the night I stayed. The room uses key combination which means I don't have to carry a key around which is great. The room was refurbished last year and looks great, clean and everything works. There are more than enough electrical outlets for all my gadgets. There's liquid soap and shampoo dispenser so don't have wasteful little plastic bottles. There's a kettle in the room to make tea and mini fridge also. It's by far the best room I have stayed in that's not a big fancy hotel. Definitely great deal. Update: I came back a year later and it's still a great place to stay and the owners and staff are very friendly. It's very quiet at night and if you step outside the room after midnight when the outside lights are turned off, you have a fantastic view of...
