When is a Sleep Inn -not- a Sleep Inn? It's when the Sleep Inn you're speaking of is the one in Hurricane, W Va, just north (maybe NE?) of Charleston. My recollections of Sleep Inns are ones of slightly glorified truck stops. Not a place I'd stay if I was worried about cleanliness or service in general. I'd probably use a sleeping bag there that I wouldn't be worried about throwing away after the trip. THIS PLACE AIN'T THAT. Read the rest of the reviews. They are what led me/us to try this Sleep Inn, and they are accurate. Warm, welcoming, clean, modern are just some of the adjectives that come to mind. Over the years we've mostly stayed at Courtyards and Hampton Inns, which have since then become less capable of (or maybe less interested in) maintaining the cleanliness that attracted us in the first place. We also like having a warm breakfast before leaving without having to stop again once we've left. THIS place (a Sleep Inn of all places), however, has brought all of that back AND it comes coupled with a kind of hospitality that reminds me of staying with friends (or a few select relatives). The Sleep Inn Winfield is located 1/3 of the way between Michigan and Florida, which makes it a perfect place for us to stop every 6 months (once on the way up and once on the way down) and unless things change dramatically, we WILL. BIG thank you to Matthew and Tori who reaffirmed these impressions repeatedly in our initial inquiries and during our stay. We can't wait to stay there again and we urge you to try it for yourself if you find it to be anywhere near your travel route. PS Re the photos: (1) Free food delivery via Grubhub (2) Nightlight built into the wall in the private bathroom (3) Floorplan (stay on the opposite side of the hall than we did if Interstate traffic in the AM might disturb you - it's not THAT bad, but just in case). Hope this helps.

We found ourselves needing a place to stay on very short notice, so we could gather with our family for an unexpected funeral. We booked just a couple of days before arrival with special requests -- we have a little man with autism and asked for a more private space, away from a lot of outside traffic so he would at least get some rest. Upon arrival, they greeted us like true West Virginians (I know, as I am one) -- extremely accommodating and friendly. I guess someone made a note of our request and they interacted with our little man in a very sweet way. There was even a surprise to all of us, as they offered freshly made popcorn, which happens to be our little guys favorite. A room was provided to us on the top floor, at the back of the hotel, away from the elevator. It couldn't have been more perfect for him. If he has a good stay, it allows us all to have a good stay. Bonus: He could see the Home Depot from the hall window -- and that made his day, every day we were there. We will use this establishment each time we return home. The rooms were affordable, clean and the staff was incredibly kind and considerate to our needs. Thank you for listening to our requests and exceeding our expectations.

Sleep Inn and Mainstay Suites is a beautiful and brand new hotel. Making a wonderful addition to the Putnam County area. It contains rooms to accommodate people traveling on business or large families on vacation. It offers a hot breakfast from 6am-10am, every day of the week alongside hot coffee, tea, apple and orange juice. Pictured below you can see their is plenty of seating to enjoy a comfortable breakfast experience. Their is a large meeting room to hold any business or board meetings one may need. The exterior of the hotel offers outside seating and grills to have a family BBQ, and if so desired their is a gazebo to relax away from the sun.

Stayed here after a very stressful day driving the interstate under road construction and heavy traffic through the mountains. . I had made the reservations the night before with hotel staff which went smoothly and rate was very reasonable compared to another I had called first. The staff was very welcoming, check in quick and immediately I could understand why the reviews were all so positive. It was like entering somewhere that was designed to help you calm down and relax. My favorite part was the back patio. I got some takeout food nearby and my husband and I went to the patio to eat and unwind. It was very clean, quiet and with the pine trees that surrounded it, had feeling like being in nature; again, it helped settle me down! . Everything about the room was wonderful, no complaints. The next morning, I was again surprised at the food offerings at the breakfast bar. The hostess kept everything stocked and warm and was very friendly. They even had rice in a rice cooker with a big selection of toppings. One issue I did have was the TV in the common sitting /dining area was tuned into a station that was an opinion station (and not mine). It was playing the evening I got there also. I asked an employee in the morning if it could be changed to a regular neutral news station and she said it was fixed to that station, they could not change it and suggested I look at the cooking channel that was on another tv in that room. Other than that, I was really impressed with Sleep Inn and will rave about it to others when I talk...
