UPDATE: 5/4/25 More than a year later after the disaster of a dinner, me and my husband decided it was time to try Bob Evans again. It was very busy but we got seated immediately. Our waitress was great at filling our drinks and we never had to flag her down for anything. He ordered a roast beef sandwich with gravy and his only complaint was there was no carrots in it. I have ordered a lot of turkey sandwiches at Bob Evans and I can tell you that this was the best I had ever had. It was so good I am still thinking about it two days later lol. Our food was hot. We were both pleasantly surprised with our visit. I added two stars to the overall review and if it is good again the next time we go I will add another star.
A YEAR AGO REVIEW: Bob Evans has always been one of our favorite places to eat. Last night changed that. The place was not busy at all and we thought that was a good thing. It wasn't. It took forever to get our food and when we did it was terrible. I'm pretty sure that one of my chicken tenders was not cooked correctly. You only get three so I only ate two. I barely got 10 fries and most of those were not bigger than my pinkie finger. the only thing edible on my side was the coleslaw. My husband ordered the country fried steak. He ate one of them but left the other. He said it tasted funny. He liked the mashed potatoes and green beans. Our waitress apparently never wanted to come back because it was ages before we got refills on drinks and only then could we tell her she never gave us our rolls. I only realized much later that I also never got my honey mustard either. I decided I wanted a piece of apple pie to get rid of the taste of the food. Big mistake. I tried to cut into it with my fork and it was frozen. Ice cold. Apple slices stuck together. I couldn't believe it. This was the nail in the coffin. It will be years if we ever go back. It is sad that we would have gotten better food and service at...
Read moreI was hungry for a steak, I asked the waitress and she said they were very good. I ordered a steak medium well pink inside but not bloody. Also, two sides, bread and tea. No problem until the first bite and I could not chew it because it was fill of grisel, the waitress did not return. I cut around what I could over half of it was so tough you could not stick a fork in it. A fork would not pierce that tough meat. The waitress came with check and offered a new steak. I said OK.
Then the manager comes out and attacks me. She says "all the steak is all the same, was mine cooked wrong, "no it was cooked fine." "All the steak has grisel and they are all the same." I had my check for $21. And 20% tip (the waitress was nice and offered me a steak to take or something else to eat). I told the manager I would pay for steak and by the way I am customer and I would not be back. I told her I did not like being argued with and made to feel like I was stealing. Three people behind me told me she was very rude to me. I paid and left she came up to the register and then said I didn't have to pay.
I have her name if anyone...
Read moreAfter an extensive day of flea market, yard sales and thrift store, hunger was a knocking... Came back to this Bob Evans to actually dine-in. The hostess was quiet, but picked out a nice booth for us. Lacey, our server, was upbeat, fast and friendly. Took our drink orders: sweet tea and water w/lemon for me. This gave us time to make our selections. When the tea came, took a sip, then chugged!!! Really good! And Lacey was quick to refill... yeah! I ordered the steak tips 😋 with caramelized onions and mushrooms. The sides: loaded mash potatoes and green beans. Yum, yum 😋! Lacey brought A1 sauce, just in case. Put only a drop or two on plate to try with one tip, but the steak tips didn't need it. The little bit of sauce I used actually took away from the taste of the tips. Had to send my compliments to the chef!!! I cleaned my plate and there was no more room for a dessert! Maybe next time...
The restaurant was overall clean as well as the ladies room. However, note to self: when out in the heat most of the day, bring a sweater or light jacket because you can quickly...
