The issue with Liberty Square is simple: every anchor store has closed, and only one has been replaced (kinda). Hills died. It's replacement, Ames, died. IT'S replacement, Magic Mart, died and remains empty. Elder Beerman died and is empty. And Big Bear died and half of its old footprint is an Aldi, while the other half is occasionally a pop up seasonal store. Right now the most important tenant is a DMV branch, and the DMV sucks.
There are some free standing places within the general area that are okay, like Panera, but they're merely okay. All in all, not a fantastic...
