Lighting in the rooms, check in area, and breakfast area was outstanding. Everything in the room, such as commode, faucet, and air conditioner, worked great. With that said, there were a lot of small things that makes this rating more like a 3+ versus a 4+. There was no place to put your luggage except in the chairs or the floor. I asked for a luggage holder for at least one of our suitcases and using the desk was the suggestion as if we did not have other things as well as the hotel having things on it already. We never once in our four nights stay had replacement soap, lotion, or shampoo. Additionally, I had to go and get Kleenex because this was not taken care of either, and we were almost out of toilet paper when we checked out, glad I didn’t have to go that morning. The single ice machine went on the blink, and this created a problem for a couple of nights-this size hotel should have had at least two ice machines. We put our dirty towels outside the room, so that we would be sure and get additional clean towels. The nice room was spacious, but the curtain area was torn with the shades, and the two chairs should have been thrown away long ago as the cover on the arms of one of the chairs look like it had measles, it was so checkered up. The hair dryer did not work and had to be replaced, but it was never put back on the wall while we was there. My wife wanted to iron some clothes, but could not, since there was no iron in the room. All of these things led to many trips from the third floor, to the elevator, which was on an extreme end of the hall and down to the office to try and get this series of things resolved during our four night stay. Our friends did not even have a bar for hangers in the closet and had to change rooms. The breakfast was good, but exactly the same thing every morning, such as always having apples, but no bananas or always link sausage never sausage patties or bacon. We had to have our room re-keyed since we were locked out once. I believe TripAdvisor had a 3.6 rating and that would be close to being accurate but slightly higher than I would have given it. With very little effort, this...
Read moreI made my reservation 6 months in advance to ensure a 1-Bedroom Suite with a King Bed, with separate living area, and a door between; I called twice to confirm. Upon arrival, I was told it wasn't available, but (after some confusion at desk,) was told I could have a whirlpool suite. I did not want a whirlpool in my room, but it had the 2 rooms with a door between, which is what I DID want, so I accepted it. I was NOT offered any compensation for their mix up.
ROOM: --Room was not at all as pictured on their own website for a 1-Bedroom Suite with King Bed.
--Door into hallway would not close from outside, broken mechanism; had to slam it.
--Some furniture had an unknown sprayed substance on it. We were afraid to touch it. (Housekeeping said it was "from the bug man.")
--No carpeting in BR or in the separate "living area." Window coverings torn. Windows very dirty. HVAC leaked outside cold air; we used towels to try to block it.
--Coffee maker dirty.
--"Living area" was more like a storage room (bare floor, numerous empty tables, empty mini fridge & microwave cabinet, no TV, no pictures or mirror on walls. phone did not work.)
--Entire "suite" felt dirty. Hesitated to walk barefoot on floor.
LOBBY: Very sparsely furnished, cold, uninviting, no carpeting. (Not as pictured on their own website.)
ELEVATOR: All hand rails had been removed, leaving numerous brackets sticking out. The walls were very badly scraped & damaged. Only 1 of 2 elevators was working.
HALLWAY: The hallway carpet was dirty, had paint splotches & pieces of putty on it, and baseboards were removed.
The entire place is in a state of disrepair; it looks like renovations were started, then abandoned. But there was no mention on their website OR in the hotel apologizing about a remodel.
Based on above, I am...
Read moreMaybe I am old school…but a hotel should be concerned with appearances. Outside of the hotel looked good as did the breezeway entrance. The you are faced with the main doorway to the lobby. The doors looked hideous. Needed a fresh coat of paint. Desk clerk was courteous and directed me to my room. Which was at the furthest point from the main entrance down a dimly lit hallway. In front of most room doors were drops of paint on the carpet. Entering my room 128, there was paint on the carpet, construction dust in the door jam to the bathroom and along the walls. The bedding was stained. The desk roller chair needed to be replaced. The vinyl of the armrests was worn off to the fabric. The lamp base electrical outlets were so close to the table surface, I had to prop up with a packet of coffee in order to plug in my phone charger. The room phone did not work. Could not request a wake up call. Behind the corner chair was a pillow on the floor. In the shower one of the wall panels had 128L written in grease marker. There was a pool, but appeared to be under construction. Breakfast was sparse but adequate. Except for the muffins. I thought I would treat myself to a blueberry muffin. I opened the wrapping, removed the paper and took a bite without smelling it first. It tasted as if the oil had gone rancid.
I will say perhaps there was a major overhaul of the property in progress. That should have been conveyed by the desk clerk or sign: “Pardon our mess, we are remodeling “
Maybe I expect too much. I shouldn’t expect 5 star amenities for 1 star pricing. However most of the items above could have been addressed with proper attention to detail of the hotel staff and management.
I hope these issues will be taken seriously. Sincerely,...
