We stopped in for a quick lunch and dessert.
My husband ordered half of a BLT sandwich and broccoli cheese soup. Although the soup was creamy , we both felt it lacked a broccoli flavor. All we could taste was the cheese.
My BLT was served on sourdough bread also. The bacon was chewy & the sliced tomatoe was juicy. My Waldorf salad was good for corporate offerings. It was served with very thin roasted chicken slices, I got 7 pieces. We were not overly impressed, but it's definitely worth stopping in if you're hungry and want a quick lunch. We both ordered a dessert I had the carmel apple pie with pecans. My thoughts: I asked the server to warm my apple pie - He did. It was a much better pie than most corporate offerings. We were both disappointed in the fact that our pie crust was very thin ( almost non-existent). In fact, other than the crimping, we could not taste our pie crust. My husband ordered the coconut cream pie. We both had a few bites of each ordered as I often prepared homemade pies, and we love pie and a butter crust đ . Grand Traverse has a delicious offering of pies while not homemade there certainly delicious and would recommend for those unaware of how a homemade pies taste, plus a homemade crust. The salad could use a few more slices of chicken for the price we paid! Do not feel comfortable recommending a salad that only offers 7 small thin slices of roasted chicken.
The broccoli soup should offer a few more broccoli crowns. Again, it was over cheesy - not a true broccoli cheese soup.
Desserts ( Pies) were worth the price, only lacking an...
Read moreI donât recommend anyone to eat here. Horrible customer service: I walked in for the first time after working 74 hours⊠the girl at the register stood up at the counter looked up in the air the rotated her eyes around acting if she didnât want to give me eye contact and greet me.So I stood there and said âhelloâ and she look at me and replied âyesâ I had to politely speak to her to get her to even make conversation she didnât want to speak nor greet. I then ask about the best sellers on the menu and she wasnât good on knowing the menus best sellers .So I ordered Dinner a drink and dessert and sat in the lobby to relax my day off. Noticing other African Americans came in minutes after me to get the exact same service . This is hurtful to me because I was raised to speak and use my manners Iâm 52 and I still use my manners being that I travel for a lot in many different States and Indianapolis is now another State that is very unfriendly and there restaurants and not hiring there employees to use there manners but they have different trained them how to use there registers and have the nerves to have a percentage on them form of payment when itâs time to swipe your debit/credit card . Which I chose not to leave her a tip nor will I go back in and hoping no one else that does go in get treated...
Read moreWe were passing thru and I did a double take passing this restaurant. I did a u-turn pulling our trailer (we are full time RV'rs) and found parking in their ample parking lot. Walked through the door and instantly started salivating. Huge display of fresh pies and baked goods. They sell regular full size pies as well as small ones which were perfect for us since we have a small refrigerator. We bought their limited time flavor of Caramel Apple Bacon Pie. Pie was amazing and it was still warm from the oven. They have a large variety of pies and baked goods, it's so hard to make a decision. They also have a variety of flavored coffees. I wish we weren't just passing through as I would have loved to try their breakfast and lunch offerings. As we dug into some of our pie, we watched as people passed us with their purchases and I was envy of everything I saw. The baked potatoes are massive with a large choice of toppings and the pot pies looked great. Well, everything looked great. I'll have to settle for my left over pie and a big cookie. Had I known about this place, I would have skipped breakfast or timed our travels...
