Very rarely do I write reviews on my experiences with restaurants but I thought this experience should be shared because it was extreme in many ways than one. First off I wish I could give less than one star rating because this restaurant and their staff don't even deserve the one I am forced to give. My husband (Dan) and I frequently eat out for Chinese food because it is something we thoroughly enjoy. So tonight, we decided to order a Pu Pu platter for 2 and an order of pork Lo Mein. First complaint is that the food was very mediocre. The lo mein had no flavor and the pork in it was a gross looking grey color. The beef teriyaki was very tough and burnt. Dan took a bite of his egg roll and the meat on the inside had gone bad, so it was very sour smelling and even worse tasting. Dan ended up just dumping his whole plate in the trash after that because he felt sick almost immediately after. I told him to pack the food back up and take it back to them and get a refund because we ended up spending $40 on food that we couldn't even eat. When he got the food back he was polite and told them the issues with the food and asked for our money back. The employee at the register decided to laugh at Dan and claimed "they serve hundreds people per day so there is nothing wrong with their food". The gentlemen proceeded to take our food (that we had in our house) and put it ON bags of other peoples food that were waiting to be picked up. (No I am not kidding, Dan saw this happen. He wishes he had thought to pull out his phone when this was happening). When he again asked for a refund due to the food, the manager, who's name is Mike, came out and also claimed that there was nothing wrong with the food. Dan told him the meat in the egg roll went bad and he took the one that my husband had already bitten into and stuck his finger in it and proceeded to pull the insides out onto the floor to "verify" that it had indeed gone bad. The manager told Dan that he has never seen him at the restaurant before so he wasn't sure if he was "trying to just get money out of them". After verifying that Dan wasn't trying to just weasel money out of the establishment, he (after touching the food we brought back) went into the register with dirty money, to give him the refund. We had never been to this place before and we were expecting professionalism and understanding. Sadly we were very wrong. This place and it's staff are deplorable at best. This is not somewhere I would...
Read moreThe biggest reason I really enjoy ordering food from this place is that it does not matter what time I call them, even at 5 minutes to closing time, they will go out of there way to make my order fresh, fairly portioned, hot and delicious! I really appreciate how they treat the customer with respect and as the priority. Unlike almost every other restaurant if you call to order even within one hour of closing you most definitely are given serious attitude or just told no completely, and some wont even answer the phone intentionally. But not Green Ginger, they always always take my order and do so pleasantly! More than once they have even stayed and waited for us late to get our food. That is customer service! I keep seeing reviews where people complain about the price or portion size, which I have never had any issues with- for one- because just like everything else in the world right now- prices have gone up, therefore cost of the goods and everything else they need to run their business has gone up-obviously meaning the prices must go up. That is the way it is. For two- You can't demand good quality food and service from someone and also expect them to do so for free. Come on people be realistic and fair. As for the service like I said in my opinion (especially as a third shift night owl) being able to order late and not be treated poorly because of it is huge for me. But even when I have gone here during the day to dine in or take out, they have always been patient, friendly and courteous. So what if sometimes they are not running around laughing and smiling. Everyone gets tired, has bad days, could be sick, having personal issues, or hey did you ever stop and think that maybe, just maybe, they are used to a different culture then ours so what we think or assume to be unhappy, unfriendly or whatever else is just not true or even opposite from our culture?!?!?! Being aware of this is huge!
We usually order all the typical things people get when they splurge on "american Chinese food" (because that's what we made it up to be) Chicken Wings, Chicken fingers, Boneless spare ribs, Teriyaki, Crab Rangoon, Dumplings, Pork fried rice, and lo-mien. It was all really good. Tasted fresh and not like old oil, even at the end of the night it is never old or stale tasting. We spent $94 plus tip for take out and I have nothing to complain about! Great job Green Ginger, thank you for always being willing to...
Read moreMy husband and I came to the Green Ginger for the first time this past Friday after years of wanting to try it! It was a phenomenal experience overall. The menu had so many different options that it was difficult to make a choice, so we will certainly be coming back to try what we couldn’t on Friday. The environment was relaxing, clean, and decorative.
We ended up having the Hot & Sour soup, Egg drop soup, Sesame Beef, Peyking Chicken special, Number 8 Sushi Roll, and Seaweed Salad. Everything was so delicious, the meat was tender & juicy, the soup seasoned perfectly, and the sushi & seaweed salad were some of the best I’ve had in a while. There wasn’t anything we were disappointed with & we are eager to come back.
Lastly, our waiter was great! He was patient with us, as we took forever to place our order due to the large menu. He made sure our wonton basket & drinks were filled. He warned us about the food being hot & to watch out for the step as we were leaving. He also gave us rice for our leftovers, so we could have enough for lunch the next day. Thank you James for the phenomenal experience, your waiter can certainly make or break an experience & James made ours! Looking forward to another Green Ginger...
