My stay at the Huddy House Bed and Breakfast in Toms River, NJ, was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was taken in by the charm and character of this beautifully restored property. The decor is elegant yet inviting, blending classic design with thoughtful, personal touches that immediately make you feel at home. Every room reflects a keen eye for detail, creating a warm and tranquil atmosphere that enhances the overall experience.
The sleeping quarters were remarkably comfortable—immaculately clean, tastefully furnished, and outfitted with plush linens and cozy bedding that made each night’s rest incredibly restful. It’s clear that the owners take great pride in offering a luxurious and peaceful retreat for their guests.
What truly sets the Huddy House apart, however, is the outstanding level of customer service. The hosts are warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring each guest feels welcome and well cared for. Their local knowledge and thoughtful recommendations added great value to my trip, guiding me toward some of the best experiences Toms River has to offer.
The location of the Huddy House is ideal—nestled in a charming neighborhood that’s just a short distance from many of the area’s top attractions. Whether you’re looking to explore the vibrant downtown, enjoy the nearby beaches, or visit historic landmarks, everything is conveniently accessible.
Overall, the Huddy House Bed and Breakfast is a gem in the heart of Toms River. Read moreLike the other reviews, the house and rooms are beautiful and the host was very welcoming. However, some things to note that are not in big print before booking. There are 4 rooms, but you share bathrooms. We didn't know that was even a thing. Our fault for missing that information. That being said, there's 2 bathrooms but only one with a shower. And because this "Bed and Breakfast" only serves breakfast down the street at 9am only, you'll want to plan to shower accordingly as everyone would be trying to get ready at the same time. Unfortunately while we were there the toilet in one bathroom didn't work and we needed to wait until that got fixed. Also the door in our room constantly stuck ... so hard that I had to wake my husband up to open it so I could use the bathroom and he even had an awful time trying to open it that he thought he would take the doorknob off. That also needed a call to get repaired. We went to visit my husband's children (older children) but we were not aware that after a certain hour we needed to be hyper focused on being extra quiet as to not disturb any other guests staying there so having them visit us there was very awkward and made for less fun. If we had known the bathrooms were shared, breakfast was a walk down the street away at only one time and the no guest/quiet rules we would have booked elsewhere. It was a beautiful place just wasn't what we had expected and we obviously didn't pay enough attention to the fine print. And lastly, I left my stuffed animal there, we called and asked if it could be mailed back to us but we never received it. VRBO for...
Read moreThis is the “new” sister property to the Mathis House, located down the street. The Huddy House is an old Victorian house with four bedrooms, each made up in a distinct manner.
I stayed in the second largest room, which was spacious and very comfortable. The bed provided a solid night of sleep.
A couple of notes: while the Huddy House bills itself as a B&B, the hot breakfast is served at the Mathis House. And while there are four bedrooms, there are only two bathrooms…one of which has a shower; the other has a tub. The bathrooms are shared; plan accordingly.
Overall, a very...
