Royal Grill 37 — Restaurant in Toms River

As you first enter the restaurant, you are quick to find the counter and all available menu options either on a pamphlet or on the board. The menu is simmered down to the things that they are best at and are happy to make. Upon viewing the menu, I was greeted and made to feel as though I was an important dignitary or someone they have been waiting for. As I viewed the menu and then placed my order with the gentlemen at the counter, he made me feel as though I was just invited to his home for dinner. Very welcoming. As they prepared my meal, I witnessed them preparing food and cleaning. Something that makes me feel comfortable when entering a smaller restaurant because cleanliness is often times overlooked for speed of service and because some people are a bit lazy, but not here! After waiting maybe 5-10min tops for their best selling meal, the mix deluxe, I was offered the choice of white sauce and spicy sauce. I opted for both and he provided a very generous portion of both. I Dae the amount of sauce and then wondered if it was too much, but thus man knows his food! The amount of sauce turned out to be perfect and boy was it delicious. The chicken was cooked ideal, the seasoning just right and not overpowering. The rice was perfect, and a little bit of salad added that fresh, cool, crisp addition that made it satisfyingly enjoyable. I paired a cold beverage from his drink cooler with my meal. There were enough choices to easily fill the needs of a thirsty and hungry individual or family. As I ate, they continued to clean the tables, garbage area and chairs. This made a great first impression without them even knowing I was quietly grading them in my head like we all often do when going to a place for the first time. If your looking for something different and delicious, this is the place! I would say it's a similar food type to what you would expect from Indian/Egyptian/similar food stand yet provided in a friendly inviting manner with the option to sit down inside or outside under some shaded tables. There are many things that larger restaurants can take away and learn from how this place is run. I would be happy to bring my family, friends, and coworkers here for a meal that I can be satisfied with. Take a chance here! Try the food! Meet the people if possible, and enjoy something not as common. I bet you'll be as happy as I am for trying it! Cheers...

Calling yourself a Muslim and selling halal food, but making money through dishonest tactics? That’s not right.

I ordered a double cheeseburger by itself, and the guy at the counter tried to forcefully upsell me fries, saying “it’s the same price.” Let’s be real nowhere in the world is just a burger the same price as a full meal with fries and soda. Stop the nonsense.

He still charged me $14. Since he charged full price, I asked the guy to give the fries the person behind me.

And I wasn’t the only one. Another customer ordered a wrap and was also pressured to add fries and soda. She explained she only had $10 and couldn’t afford more. Instead of understanding, the guy kept pushing, saying “it’s the same price.” She was ready to walk out without food, and only then he agreed to give her the wrap alone for $10.

This kind of behavior is shady and unfair especially when you’re representing halal values. Halal isn’t just about food it’s about how you earn too. Good luck keep loosing your permanent...

Great food, great prices, very clean!!.. When my wife first suggested we eat here, I was leary of the idea, a new small restaurant , hole in the wall kind of place. After I entered I was pleasantly surprised at how clean this place was, floors , tables, cooking area that I could see was spotless.

I was also shocked by the incredibly cheap prices, I played it safe the first time around and ordered a cheese burger and fries for $6 ! It taste fantastic. My wife had a chicken gyro, I don't remember the price exactly, but I know it was cheap, she loved it, and she loves gyros, so for her to say this was her favorite is a big deal.

They seemed to have a wide variety of food choices, something for everyone, also the staff was very friendly.

I think we found our new favorite place to eat out, I have passed this place many times and am kicking myself for not trying it sooner, hopefully you won't make the same mistake. Stop in and try it...
