2023/7/14 I lowered the rate to 2 stars on the response to the template reply from the Hotel management since they DO NOT CARE: If you wouldn't go, somebody else will go, because of the solo hotel on the campus.

Another point is the value for money, I DO NOT believe this hotel is worth its price. Spend half of the price you can get other inns around with free breakfast. Come on, Garden Inn is an inn/motel, not a Hilton hotel. Overpriced. I got the same experience at Garden Inn San Jose, the Hilton Honors is a JOKE.

2023/7/XX I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook from July 1st to July 3rd, and I would like to share my experience. Unfortunately, I encountered several issues during my stay that affected my overall satisfaction with the hotel.

Firstly, as an Honors Member, I inquired about the welcome package but was informed that no package was available. I noticed that there were numerous packaged bottled water on the back of the reception desk, which left me wondering why the welcome package for Honors Members was not provided as expected. This inconsistency was disappointing and made me question the value of my membership.

Secondly, I requested a room on a higher floor but my request was declined. It would have been preferable to have a higher-floor room for a better view or a quieter environment. It's disappointing when a reasonable request cannot be accommodated, especially when the hotel has availability.

Furthermore, the room I was assigned was located close to the lobby, resulting in significant noise disturbances during the night. A quiet and peaceful environment is essential for a good night's sleep, and the noise disruption was a major inconvenience.

Another issue I encountered was the discovery of hair on a supposedly new hand towel. This lack of attention to cleanliness and hygiene is unacceptable, and it significantly affected my perception of the hotel's overall cleanliness standards.

Lastly, the microwave in the room was not properly balanced on its feet, which created an unstable and potentially hazardous situation. It is important for hotel amenities to be in proper working condition and safe for use.

Overall, these issues significantly impacted my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook. The lack of a welcome package, the denial of a higher-floor room request, the noise disturbances near my assigned room, the unclean hand towel, and the unstable microwave all contributed to a disappointing experience.

I believe it is crucial for the hotel management to address these concerns promptly to ensure a more satisfactory experience for future guests. Attention to detail, cleanliness, and the ability to accommodate reasonable requests are essential for providing a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

I hope that the Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements to enhance the overall...

This is our 2nd time as a mother daughter sup staying at this Hilton. Our first trip we had a kind bedroom, clean and cozy our bathroom was clean and beautifully set up. everything was in working order and stocked. Our second time was this past weekend for mother's Day. I and my 7 year old came to stay from Friday to Sunday. We had reserved a junior suite online which was very simple. I am a Hilton honors member so all of my check ins have been very simole, I.D and the c.c used to reserve online is what I'm asked for upon arrival and it's a simple transaction and off to the room. All within a five minute time frame, it's incredible. when I go to Atlantic City and stay in the casinos the check in is always much longer. I LOVE the fact that checking in has been a breeze every single time. ( Lauryn ) is who initially checked us in and she was also at the front desk throughout our entire stay helping with anything we needed. She was kind to I and my daughter as soon as we walked in the door. My daughter really enjoyed her kindness and wanted me to send her a big thank you in our review ❤️. Thank you Lauryn for helping make our stay so beautiful, it was such a memorable weekend for us. Thank you for everything you did for us during our stay. You're awesome ! The suite has two televisions, we could watch whether at the same time and or be far from one another during rest time. We both slept in the king bed and had plenty plenty of room. the room was clean and no issues no smells. the coffee machine worked the gym is nice but small... not much to work out with but it does the job for a short stay... the pool is great and it's clean each time we have stayed it's been quiet joyful and clean. My kiddo loves this pool so much. northern coast is the restaurant inside, we've had dinner and breakfast here, the first time we had dinner and it was not our favorite by any means..so we went out for dinner this time.. BUT, we did like northern coasts pancake and French toast so it made up for it. but order your 18$ worth of food, I paid 18$ for 4 slices of French toast and a little dollop of scramble eggs 😂 crazy but the time spent with my little one for our mother's day retreat was worth every penny I spent. We wIll always be returning to this hotel ❤️. maybe just bringing our own snacks 😂 for...

My wife made reservations about a month in advance for us to stay one night at the Hilton Garden Inn in Stony Brook New York. After a week or two we did not see a confirmation for the reservation come back to us. So my wife went back to the website and rebooked the room again for the same night. However, the price was $100 more. So we thought maybe the first reservation she made was in the spam filter. Sure enough we found it in spam and it was $100 less.

When we arrived at the hotel we showed them the reservation that we originally booked and the one we booked the second time thinking the first one was never received. We asked to use the first reservation which was $100 less. The management at the hotel said we could use either reservation. So we naturally chose the first one we made for $100 less. Then the management said we would also be charged for the second reservation because she said the hotel could not back the charge out.

We went with the first reservation at $100 less and since the Hotel refused to back the charge out on the second reservation we decided to dispute that charge with American Express.

Then, after our stay we found additional charges of 43.92 that was not included in the advertised price or in any disclaimers on the first reservation. We then found additional charges of 63.73 on the second reservation we made that they refused to back out. Again these charges were not included in any of the pricing shown or in any disclaimers. So we have been over charged a total of $436 for one night at the Hilton Garden Inn in Stony Brook New York.

Based on our experience at the Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook, we give them a 1 because we believe they intentionally ripped us off. They knew we were staying for one night. But charged us for two plus over $100 in additional charges that were not shown in their pricing or in any disclaimers. We are in dispute over these charges and fully expect American Express will refund the over charge. In the future we will no longer do business with Hilton Brand Hotels as we believe it is not the reputable company...

Lobby is nice, location is as well. As soon as we hit the elevator i noticed how dirty and beat up it was. Carpets in hallways were also dirty, like they haven’t vacuumed in a week. Rooms are beat up, especially the bathroom, had mold on the ceiling and large amounts of caulk around the base of the shower with mold. I booked when it showed breakfast was included and yet we were charged 36 dollars for breakfast, even after asking a lady working in the food area. I sent a message to Hilton as we are honors members, they don’t care and have zero customer service etiquette. I will stop booking with Hilton, as they just take your money and don’t care if their customers are happy. Look at all the negative reviews, they post the same nonsense about how sorry they are but in fact they provide no relief to the complaints. Book an Air bnb instead, I take care of my guests unlike this terrible establishment. This is the second time we have had a bad experience with Hilton as in Melbourne Florida we had bums walking through the lobby and using the pool area, I complained and nothing was done.

This is easily the worst Hilton I have ever stayed at, and by a distance! Front desk staff are mostly impolite. Rooms and corridors have a lot of stain and dirt marks. Bath vents didn't work but was told it's not fixable, so we had to get our own deodorant and kept the bathroom door open every time after use. Body lotion was placed in the shower instead of bath gel. Breakfast was not cheap ($16.99) but had very little choices. Sometimes had to wait for a table since the restaurant is very small. Room rates are super high (avg. over $300/night) for such a dated and badly managed facility. The only positive I can think of is its location right next to SBU. There is no other reason to stay here unless you had something to do with the university.

Best place to stay if you are visiting Stony Brook University. Situated just as you enter the campus. I had checked into the room on the 4th floor with a king bed. Rooms are very spacious and so is the bed. Big, king size and comfortable. Decent spread of breakfast (better than what probably other hotels offer). Not too many meal options for vegetarians/ vegans though. They have a car which takes you free of cost around the campus or to the dorms 😀. Thanks to Samuel 😊 Polite staff and helpful staff and services. Special mention of Sal, who was very helpful and once also drove me to the dorms since the others were busy.
