I might be biased because I am a 5-year student/alumnus and a 3-year former employee. However, here is my most honest review:
Firstly, this place does not deserve five stars because the drinks are not made to the best quality that it can be made. As a former employee, I can confirm that it is possible to make quality drinks in the midst of campus lifetime, even if it takes two minutes longer. As for those complaining about TIME: please be considerate and come earlier if you know the traffic (i.e. if you know you have class in five minutes or something, don't expect a drink under five minutes) because this is NOT a corporate location and student workers change every semester due to graduation. Lines will always be long no matter what because this location is considered a HIGH VOLUME store. High volume hours: usually 10A-7P (super peak is 11A-3P)
Pros and Cons: PROs: ⢠Even if line is long, all baristas keep in mind that they are to follow standards in timely fashion and do their best to serve you even if the line goes out the door. ⢠Orderly staff: the staff are organized so that everyone has a part and nothing in the store is misplaced or empty. ⢠Friendly staff: They will give you the respect you deserve, but please give the respect that they deserve, in return. It isn't easy working in a high-vol store.
CONs: ⢠Waiting in line: it sucks because there can be one barista on the register because there is not enough staff. These things happen, but should not be frequent. ⢠Very crowded: no can do... It is a huge university after all. ⢠Restroom: NEXT TO STORE in the library basement and NOT in store.
P.S. major props to baristas Dara and Rachel for always a prompt and quality service :^)...
Read moreAs a former Starbucks supervisor, I found the situation to be handled unprofessionally. Admittedly, my order was a bit complicatedâI requested a Pink Drink made with coconut milk and sweet cream. I wasnât aware that I hadnât been properly charged for the sweet cream, so when I mentioned that the drink didnât taste right, a supervisor, who I wasnât even addressing, abruptly snapped at me, saying, âI put it in. If you want extra, you have to pay for it.â
There had already been an issue at the register, where I didnât receive my Wolfie Wallet discount. I understand that the system is new and potentially confusing, I was willing to pay the extra five dollars without the discount. However, the supervisorâs unnecessary attitude was disappointing. I empathize with the stress of working in a fast-paced environment, but I believe the response could have been more professional and respectful.
The barista who originally took my order did fix the drink, but she repeatedly mentioned that the woman who had spoken to me was their boss, and they couldnât say much in response. While I appreciate the effort to correct the issue, the overall attitude left a...
Read moreWas nearly late to class after I waited 25 MINUTES for a COOKIE. I genuinely would not have cared if the girl heating up all the food was doing so urgently since it was out of business, but she was moving way too slow for the amount of people that were waiting for orders. I literally saw her holding cheese with the tongs and slowly dragging it through the air towards the trash before finally grabbing it from the tongs with her hand and throwing it out. Are we serious⌠Not even in a careful way it felt like it was just to waste time. She was also throwing the food bags in the traysâWRONG letter trays at that. My cookie wasnât even warmed, yet it was all mushâand not in the good way because this is like my 8th time ordering a cookie here in the past month+. And since it was my first time seeing her then maybe she was new, and if she was then Iâm sorry but cmon bro. Someone ordered food that they didnât even have available anymore and she didnât even seem to care about the fact that the girl just wasted her money on that đ I understand hating your job especially as a...
