I've stayed here multiple times for business travel. It's not a bad place, but it's certainly not five stars. The rooms are spacious but are definitely showing their age. The TV is placed such that you can't really see it no matter where you sit. The "kitchen" area has a small microwave, sink, and surprise large mini fridge. The heater/air conditioner can be loud, depending on the room. Lighting is good. There are enough plugs and USB charging ports. I really like the desk area. WiFi is decent. I've never had a problem with it working. Breakfast is ok; the standard Marriott free hotel offerings. There is enough parking, but the lot is cramped and not particularly fun to navigate. Many of my stays here featured one or more things that were off: - This morning I was roused from sleep at 5:00 by the dumpster being emptied. The bathroom also smells vaguely of cigarettes unless I run the fan constantly. - Hot water has been inconsistent on this trip. Plenty in the evenings, but lukewarm water at best in the mornings. - On a previous trip, the hot water was completely out for two days straight. We got a letter from management each day explaining that there was a problem and that they were so sorry but that was it. - I showed up once and the room seemed in order except that the bathroom light was on and was dirty. Not sure whether someone forgot to clean it. The front desk gave me a different room without any problems. I stay here because I know what I am getting into. It's not as expensive as other hotels in the area, it's located close to the place I need to be for work, and breakfast is free and starts early.

I visited this location in August 2023 just for a night away. I’ve stayed at the Marriott Chain plenty times (Spring Hill & Courtyard mostly). The check in process was smooth. There is parking available in front of the hotel it usually fills up rather quickly don’t panic if you don’t find a spot. There is additional parking located at the lower levels. The room was clean and spacious however layout is really strange. There was a fridge and microwave in the room a coffee section. The tv was situation really weird in the room. I can’t even call it a closet but there was an open corner with some hangers, extra bedding, iron and ironing board. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I felt like the lighting in the room was also weird. The bathroom was really spacious. I've stayed at another Spring Hill and this room wasn't noisy like the other. This location also offers free continental breakfast. There were many items to choose from including bagels, English muffins, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, etc. There’s also a gym on the premises. There was a pool however it is closed until further notice. This location is about 30 minutes from NYC. You could even hop on the MetroNorth. I would definitely stay here again.

Overall it was an ok experience at SpringHill Suites. The room we had could sleep 6 with 2 beds and a pull out couch. There is a refrigerator and microwave along with a sink. The TV had Netflix and other streaming services installed. The breakfast was ok. There was eggs and a breakfast meat along with bagels, muffins, yogurt and juices. The housekeeping and front desk service is lacking. We called for the bedding for the pull out couch and it took almost 2 hours for someone to bring it up. We also had problems with the toilet being clogged. We were leaving for a few hours for a wake service and asked to have someone take care of it and it wasn't. We had to go back down and ask for a plunger so we could take care of it. The cell coverage is lacking too so you'll want to use the wifi, but the wifi is tiered and in my experience the free option isn't very good. An interesting fact about the hotel is that there is no 13th room on any floor.

The night before our stay, I received an email to check in early, which I had hoped would help things go more smoothly this time. I checked in early and we arrived shortly after 3, which is the regular hotel check in time. Upon arrival, I went to the desk to check in because the mobile key and check in information was not send to me through the Marriott Bonvoy app. The woman at the desk greeted me pleasantly and told us it would be about a 5 minute wait while she made sure the room was ready for us. Considering the fact that I had checked in early online, I thought this was a bit odd, but was able to wait. After several minutes, she called us up to the desk to give us keys and the basic hotel information. Immediately, we were disappointed and expressed that. We had requested a room on a higher floor due to the road noise from the Thruway behind the hotel. We were given a room on the second floor, which is below the lobby. When I inquired about a room on a higher floor, we were told that wouldn't be ready for several hours. When we entered our room- the room I had checked in early online AND waited for in the lobby, the room was NOT ready! I couldn't believe my eyes! The bed had a fitted sheet on it, but was not made. No linens were available in the room, no cleaning staff nearby. The pillows were stacked on the couch. We did check for cleanliness of the room and bathroom overall, which appeared acceptable. We attempted to return to the desk to inquire as to why the room was not ready and when it would be ready and found the elevator did not work. There was a small typed sign posted stating to call the front desk from the house phone to call the elevator. When we called, no one answered the phone. We took the stairs. Thoroughly annoyed and frustrated at this point, we returned to the front desk to inquire about our room and the elevator. The woman at the desk told us it would be a few hours until our bed would be made and offered to change our room. It didn't make sense to us to move to another room after we had been told several times this room would be ready and it appeared as though other rooms, particularly those on a higher floor, were not ready past check in time at 3pm. She was not able to address the elevator issue, nor explain why no one answered the phone. While we were out, we attempted to contact the hotel several times, to no no avail. The phone at the front desk...

I was shocked at the physical state of this Marriott. My husband and I came up to the area to stay the night for a quick anniversary getaway. We had no issues checking in other than a brief wait while the only person working the front desk was handling an issue for another guest.

At first appearance, the room appeared clean. However, the hallway leading up to our room smelled like someone microwaved fish. We only stopped in our room after check in to leave our bags before going right back out. We came back after an afternoon in Sleepy Hollow and that fish smell had still lingered. Thankfully our room was not impacted.

After quick change for dinner out in town, went back out without really taking stock of our surroundings. It wasn’t until we were “in for the night” that we started to really look around the room. There were burn marks in the carpet by the door and the couch. The marks were black and hardened into the fabric of the rug. There were white stains top cushions of the couch that were even more pronounced and alarming in the pictures I took to document the mess. The worst was the bathroom - the vent did not work and there was black mold embedded in the caulking these used to reseal the tub to the tile.

My husband and I looked at each other and agreed to check out only 5 hours after we checked in and power through the drive home. That’s how uncomfortable we were staying in that room in such a state. On our way out, we began to take notice of how rundown the common areas of the hotel were - the elevator banks and lobbies looked like that hadn’t had proper attention in months.

I understand that resources and manpower are still extremely limited, but I cannot believe Marriott would allow one of their locations to fall into such disrepair. When our friends and family asked how our overnight stay was for our anniversary, we made it a point to specify which Marriott location we felt forced to not use so that they wouldn’t fall into the same trap of booking a Marriott for it’s assumed...

We booked a room for a family trip, but had to work one day remotely from the hotel. We booked this hotel because of location, and it had a pool for our kids. During booking and upon check in it wasn't mentioned that the pool was closed.... and it has been closed for almost a YEAR!!! We checked in right after we finished a long trip to New York. Our room was just okay- slightly dirty with some remnants of hair in both the sink and the shower. The sink drained extremely slowly, so after washing your hands and face it needed a good amount of time before it was empty. We needed to stagger teeth brushing/hand washing among the 4 of us, so we didn't overflow the sink. The room looked dated, and not in great condition (the floorboards were becoming detached from the wall leaving a lot of sediment on the floor). It seemed like the room was missing furniture- there was a good amount of empty space. In addition, the lighting was poor. My wife unplugged and moved the floor lamp around the room when she needed to put on makeup and get dressed. In retrospect, we should've asked to switch rooms, but it was late on check in and we were all tired. Understandably, it was a hot week in NY, but the AC in the room could not keep up. It was running continuously, but never actually reached the set temperature. One of worst problems we had was with the WIFI- there was NONE in our room. We were told it would be fixed the next day, but it never was in our FOUR days there. We were told we could use the WIFI in the lobby, but clearly that wouldn't suffice. Breakfast was pretty good, good selection, and good food. On the last day, the AC in the breakfast room broke. It was set to 70 and the temperature was 80 (I have a picture if needed). We have stayed in this hotel previously years ago, and were impressed, which is why we chose to return. But I will not return again, and will warn both friends and family not to stay...
