Demeter’s Tavern & Sports Bar — Restaurant in Town of Greenburgh

We first walked in with our service dog and the bartender asked for Piper’s paperwork. I was snarky about it because technically it is illegal to ask. But Piper is a legit service animal and the bartender was just looking out for her regulars who might have allergies. Anyway, that’s besides the point. The real point is this. THE FOOD IS SO GOOD. Please do yourself a favor and order something with their slow cooked roast beef (like 4 sandos on the menu have it). We ordered Buffalo Tenders, they were awesome. The ranch and blue cheese were both great. Probably not homemade but nevertheless delicious. My husband had the Reuben and it was perfect. I had the Roast beef with no onions and only sweet pepper. You should get the sweet AND hot peppers. Lastly I want to note that the place was very busy and the bartender and server were killing’ it. They were hustling and they didn’t miss a beat. I’ve been a bartender since 1999 and I know full well how taxing it can be but to perform under pressure with aplomb and alacrity is truly remarkable. Hats off to the women...

5 * all the way. Always have seen the sign for Demeters from the Bank Of America across the street and finally decided to give this a try. I looked it up and saw a menu that served all my go-to's and 4-5 star reviews on every platform that they exist on. Walked in and was treated with a smile from Trish and the other Bartender. Ordered food to go, Bartender made sure to document all of my special requests and even made sure to go through it again to make sure. The ambiance in the establishment is great, you will feel welcomed there - I ordered to go but many people came in to sit and were all greeted with "sit wherever you feel is comfortable", a welcoming, warm smile and a menu. I plan on coming back, and spreading the word just a bit (dont want it to be too crowded, lol) and having a sit - down meal in the future. The person who I believe is the owner also said, "Your Awesome", for you sir, I will say - no, this establishment is Awesome! See you soon!

Food - Wings (AWESOME), Fish and Chips (AWESOME), Sliders/Chicken Fingers/Tenders...

We arrived at 10p on Saturday night according to website the kitchen open until 11p, but waitress told us kitchen was closing in 5 minutes and asked for our order stating she needed to get it immediately cause they were closing. We come here for their pizza and atmosphere is nice too. Whenever we visit this area we stay at a nearby hotel and although we can eat anywhere look forward to the pizza and atmosphere at Demeter's. However this visit was really disappointing. We ordered a pizza with mushrooms, onions and peppers. Our pizza arrived and as we started eating it realized the peppers used were hot and I mean hot peppers, since we don't like that degree of heat we found ourselves trying to pick out the hot peppers. The waitress was apologetic it was not what we ordered however she explained kitchen was closed so we were essentially stuck with this pizza. The right thing to do was not charge us for the pizza or buy us a round of drinks something right?? We always looked forward to coming here but no more..bad...
