Do not stay at this property, unless you want them banging at your door two hours, then 1hr 30mins and then 30mins before checkout asking you to leave your room so they can clean for the next guests!!!
Firstly, I cannot believe how RUDE the morning male receptionist is at reception. I called for the shuttle once we landed. He answered the phone with “yes?” I asked, is this the Five Towns Inn? He said “What do you want”. This is where it all went downhill. He said it’s 7am, check in isn’t until 3pm. I said, I know that, but your shuttle says 24 hours and we have just landed. He responded to say, well it is, but what are you gonna do when you get here? Just sit in our lounge?. I honestly could not believe this conversation. Finally, he said someone would collect us in 20mins, but I’d need to call in 15mins to remind him, otherwise they will forget to come. I called again and we would not find the collection point. He then said “can you not read the signs?”. I was then fuming at this point. I found the collection, which was at ARRIVALS. 1 hour and 40 mins later, we were collected.
When we arrived the same guy (male morning receptionist) was sitting on his computer, skipping through rap music and didn’t even acknowledge us until around 3mins later. It was strange, creepy and rude. It felt like we were in a nightmare.
We went into our rooms, they look nothing like the photos. Dirty, mould in the bathrooms, broken lamps, just awful.
Then to top it all off, 2 hours before check out we had a maid BANGING on our door asking when was we leaving. We explained we will leave at checkout time. 30mins later, another maid came along, banging on our door again saying “open up your door” we opened our door again and she said, we need to clean this room, so when are you leaving? Bare in mind this is 1 hour and 30mins before checkout. I told her, we will be leaving at checkout and she left. 30mins before checkout, the same first maid came banging on our door, this time she didn’t stop knocking until we answered (we were half dressed, getting ready) when we answered the door, she said the boss said you need to go, we need the room for the next people. Never in my life have I had a worse experience at a hotel. Avoid like...
Read moreDo yourself a favor and don’t stay here. I’ve never seen front desk staff be so RUDE in my life. The only reason we booked this garbage hotel was because it had an airport shuttle. I contacted the hotel before booking and they told me to call them when I land and they would send a shuttle. I called at 11:25 pm, he told me the shuttle was leaving the hotel at 11:30 and to give it 20 minutes. He told me where to wait and told me to keep an eye out for a big white shuttle that said Five Towns Inn. I waited 35 then called again. He told me it was at terminal 1 and to give it 4 more minutes. I waited 20 more and called a third time. At this point having waited an entire hour. When I tell you this man YELLED at me, I am not exaggerating. He said I was standing in the wrong place and that the shuttle just picked up other people. I told him that was not possible because I hadn’t moved in 30 minutes. He cut me off and said “listen to me” “let’s find out where you’re actually standing because you’re not where you think you are.” He was very rude and condescending despite me being polite and respectful. I assured him no shuttle that said five towns inn came by and he said “that’s the problem, we’re using a sister property’s shuttle” STILL YELLING AT ME despite their own mistake. I told him the first person I spoke to told me it would say that. He finally stopped being rude at this point, called the shuttle driver and told him to turn around and come get me. He then said sorry about that and hung up. Sorry about the mistake, not sorry for yelling at me and treating me poorly despite being at fault himself.
The rooms sucked, the bathtub leaked, breakfast was gross. The carpet looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since the hotel was built. I have nothing good to say about this place. You’re better off sleeping on some chairs at the airport. it’s not even that close to JFK. It takes about 30 min...
Read moreIn all honesty, I cannot rate the hotel itself, just the transportation from the airport. Actually I can’t rate the transportation as it never showed up. I called from JFK after we collected our luggage. We had flown from Bangkok in a 36 hour trip and were looking forward to a shower and a bed before we had to be back to the airport at 5 am. The first person I spoke to was very nice and told us where the shuttle would pick us up. We got to the spot and waited about 20 minutes before calling the hotel again. This call was awful. The man who answered was very rude to me. I explained that we were waiting in the pickup area, but the van had not arrived. He told me it takes 30 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. I said it had been over 30 minutes since the first call. I told him we were exhausted and needed to be back at the airport in a few hours. I also told him that the website for the hotel said it’s 10 minutes from the airport. He told me it was not his problem that we were tired. He also said we weren’t the only people needing transportation. I hung up and we waited another 20 minutes before calling back. He was even more rude telling me if I didn’t like waiting call an Uber. He said the the pick up service was free and the hotel didn’t owe me anything. We waited over an hour and finally gave up and stayed in the airport. I rarely post negative reviews because usually if something has gone wrong the person responsible is kind and empathetic and solutions can be found. I called to speak to the manager a week ago. She was very kind and said she felt badly for our experience. Since we had prepaid for a room we didn’t use she would see what she could do. Unfortunately I haven’t heard back from her.
