IHOP — Restaurant in New York

I placed an order for pickup because the restaurant was full and the outdoor seating was full, and the order was made very quickly and was ready to go before the estimated time. The food was hot, not warm, even as I walked 5 mins to the car and the cup of coffee provided was 16-20oz which is very generous. My recommendation is the Breakfast Sampler which you can customize to your liking. The management staff inside was very friendly when they did the handoff for my order and everyone was working hard to keep a 6 foot distance and wear face masks/shields. The restaurant entry way is on the smaller side so it’s easy for people to bunch up near the door and a security guard will be right inside the front door leading into the restaurant and he is very helpful as well with holding doors and keeping people spaced out. The food was carefully packaged in numerous plastic containers and in a sealed bag, and many condiments/syrups/butters/sugars/utensils were provided which was very nice. The pancakes were made especially well, because some places will make them too doughy/floury and these were an absolute delight to eat: perfectly balanced. The outdoor seating features very large tables with large plastic chairs to sit in underneath a massive tent. Depending where you might sit on a rainy/drizzly day you may feel some rain droplets, and don’t sit near where the garbage/disposal area is as there might be flies (even in cold weather). My girlfriend and I went here for breakfast on Wednesday March 13th arriving at about 9 am. We looked at the menu and I settled on the breakfast sampler. Truth be told, the breakfast sampler is my favorite, I've had it my way at other IHOPs with no problems: eggs over medium. My girlfriend ordered her breakfast eggs over hard. Imagine my dismay when my eggs came over easy. They ran all over the plate the moment I put my fork in them. I sent them back, explaining to the very nice waitress that they weren't what I ordered. My girlfriend Michelle and I returned to pleasant conversation. Moments later, one of the managers came to our table with has to be the worst customer service skills, or lack of, that I have honestly ever experienced. She began to berate me to her perceived fact that there were only eggs over easy or eggs over hard, there was no middle! When I attempt to explain what I usually get, even cooking myself professionally for patrons, this woman went on to scold me and said that "she's in the egg business"! Needless to say, this was absolutely the worst experience that I have ever had at a IHOP, let alone, any restaurant in my life. Me and my girlfriend, nor anyone that we know will ever patronize this location again. This woman was adversarial from jump. What ever happened to customer service? Check your food for hair. I visited this establishment and was eating my food with my family member when he found hair in his food. That completely grosses me out even though it was not in my food, thus, I lost my appetite as well.

The manager did comp us for his meal, but I also could not eat my meal and she claims she was not able to comp my meal, which they had to throw away because I was totally turned off and could not eat it. She then said the only solution was to call the cops after I asked what else can be done. Maybe the Department of health should be called because they weren’t cleaning the chairs, as evidenced by food particles from prior patrons were on the chairs; or perhaps because hair was found in the food??

This establishment receives a lot of business for many years and people should be warned to check their food for hair. I also had to ask them to clean the chairs prior to us sitting , because the chairs had Food on them. It seems like they were only were cleaning the tables. Other than that, the waitress was very attentive and courteous. If it was not for that experience with the hair And how the manager handled it, I would definitely come back here.
