It was a good thing there was a kitchen in the room because apparently the hotel restaurant becomes overwhelmed and closes every day from 6:30 to at least 8:30. We contacted the manager to inquire why we could not even order an appetizer at 6:30 and were told we could leave to go to a restaurant or order food to be delivered, but that the kitchen was too small and the chef would become overwhelmed every day at about this time and close the kitchen. We looked at the dining room and noted that it was not full or even half full, to which the manager replied that would never have the capacity to fully seat the dining room. We asked if they saw it as a problem that they did not have the capacity to feed even the dining room much less any of the rooms in the hotel. The response was, "we deal with it by closing the kitchen every day." We asked if they had a plan to fix the issue, the answer was no, they never thought of that, but perhaps at the next meeting, they might bring it up. We stated that this was a big issue for families with children that the kitchen closed every day at dinner time and it would make us reconsider staying at their establishment again. The response from the manager on duty was "oh, well, you do that." That was not the only issue, we came back to our room after a day of skiing, and found that one bedroom had the sheets stripped off the bed and placed on the floor, but the bed had not been remade, and the rest of the room and kitchen had not been cleaned, it was as if the maid left midway through her task and never returned. We did not return to the room early, we arrived back after the slopes had closed for the day. When we complained, we were told it was marked down that we requested that the room not be cleaned. We said we requested no such thing and why would we make the request when there were no sheets on the bed, how do you explain that someone began to clean the room but did not finish? The management in this establishment is clearly lacking. I gave it two stars because there is a kitchen, that we used to cook for the children, otherwise it would...
Read moreThis was my third time staying here - second time post-Covid. I love the location but wish I could say the same about the lodging. In terms of cleanliness, the rooms were just ok. There was a shirt left in one of the closets so the housekeeping staff was not too thorough when the place was cleaned for new visitors. Also, the tissue boxes in each bathroom were almost empty (literally only a few left) and there were no replacements in the room - same with toilet paper. We stayed here over a weekend and went downstairs for breakfast only to discover that the restaurant didn't open until 4pm. 4pm!! Not sure who was behind this ridiculous decision but it was a very poor one - especially since there's a breakfast menu posted near the elevator. Even last year when things began to open up again (post-Covid), the restaurant was open for breakfast. Also, when in the restaurant/bar, you're unable to charge anything to the room. Everything has to be done with a credit card or Apple Pay. This was interesting considering you have to give a credit card for incidentals when checking in. I'm curious what those "incidentals" are considering there's no mini bar or additional things for purchase in the room. In the past, the staff was very welcoming. This time, it appeared they couldn't be bothered. They were cordial but any sort of person touch was missing. I hope these issues are resolved as lodging in the area can be somewhat limited. It's a great location and has great potential but, this year, it was very...
Read moreThe best feature of this hotel is the hotel staff - everyone was super friendly and helpful. They'd get five stars. The hotel is more of a mixed bag.
For starters, it's a timeshare, so the rooms are individually owned. Perhaps that's why the amenities might vary considerably. Even though I booked a "studio" the "kitchenette" only had a bar sink and a coffee maker. Nothing else. No fridge. How is that a studio? In a hotel with limited food offerings and no breakfast, that was a bit of a problem. The TV was tiny, tucked away in an old-fashioned TV console meant for old CRT TVs. The bathroom was basic. And the walls to the room next to me were thin - let's just say the neighbors had a very high libido and you could hear everything. On the upside, the room as well as the hotel were perfectly clean.
The pool and spa area are nice. But the hotel was full, so it got very busy and turned into a kids' playground. On top of that, they had an amplified live singer performing "old school country" for hours. It sounded like a broken record. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, this is not it. Instead of hiring a live performer, it would have been nice if the bar stayed open past 8PM on a holiday weekend.
Finally, pro tip: Bring a travel mug. Water from the vending machine is $4 - $5 per 20oz bottle. But there is a free soda stream machine next to it, which eneded up being the best amenity of the...
