What a great addition to the village of Hunter, which up to now had little to offer (other than the mountain to skiers).
From the moment you step into Fellow Mountain Cafe, you feel welcome! The menu is varied - I had breakfast here earlier today with a friend. We both have 2nd homes here in the Catskill Mountains. The staff is very welcoming, there's plenty of street parking, the restaurant is warm with plenty of large tables and comfy chairs and benches, for small or large parties.
I had an amazing foccacia , which was too big for one person, so I got to take some home for a 2nd meal. My friend had a breakfast sandwich on sourdough toast, also a large portion.
There are lots of different coffee options - we had a latte and cold brew. Lots of chit chat in the cafe but the restaurant is spacious enough, that you can have a private conversation. I love also that there is a great outdoor porch if you prefer to sit outside.
Will definitely return! I wish Hunter Village would have more fun...

One of us ordered a bowl of tomato soup and when the runner brought it over, commented "$10 for this?". The runner seemed insulted and that set the tone for the rest of the experience. 2 of us ordered the Lockwood sandwich which was good. My other companion inquired with the staff on the lack of cheese listed in the menu description but not recognizable in the sandwich. They ignored us for a while and she went up again to inquire and was told that there absolutely was cheese on the sandwich. My sandwich also had no recognizable cheese, but I don't really like cheese so I didn't mind. Overall a convenient place to stop for a decent food selection. Don't understand the need to tip though, we performed all of the functions that you tip for. They just need to call our names to pick up our order instead of a food runner and we'd have...
