Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights as a party of four, we were gone after staying the first night. Upon arrival, we walked in and were blasted with the odor of weed in the lobby and in the hallway. One of the rooms we refused to stay in due to it smelling like cigarette smoke, so they gave us a different room. After the first night, we woke up at 4:30am to bed bugs in the beds. While sitting on the bed the next morning, literally saw a cockroach crawl out of the alarm clock sitting on the nightstand. After looking at the alarm clock, you can clearly see they were nesting inside of it. We called them and they sent a maintenance guy to the room to “check” on it. When they arrived, they didn’t even knock. They just opened the door and saw us in the room and said who they were and what they were doing. They walked in the room about 5 feet, looked around and we told them what was going on, they simply said “ok” then they turned around and walked out. Such great service, right? On top of that, they had security guards posted at every entrance of the hotel 24/7 (no idea what that was about, but definitely sketchy). Rooms were very dirty. Bathrooms had crud and dirt in the corners of them and under the sink vanity. The rusty drain was pulled out of the bathtub and laying under the sink (we dared not touch it without having a full Hazmat suit on). The safety latch on the main door to lock the room was nearly unscrewed off (completely useless at best). After getting showered and dressed, we approached the front desk to speak to the manager and were told that the manager wouldn’t be in until 9:00am. At 9:00am, we went to the front desk to speak to the manager and were told they wouldn’t be in until 10:00am. We had places to be so we couldn’t wait, so we were given a number to call when the manager came in. We left that morning and were told we would get refunded for both rooms for both nights due to the bad experience. At 10:30am, we called the number given to us to speak to the manager and were told that the manager was not going to be in at all that day, what a joke management is there. But whatever, we still got refunded thanks to the front desk associate who was understanding of the situation. Oh, and on the way out, we saw one of the cleaning ladies “cleaning” the room with her phone in one hand and a broom/mop in the other. Explains one reason why cleanliness of the rooms are horrible. The only good thing that came of this was that they did refund us fully for both rooms for both nights we reserved for. We didn’t want to have to spend more somewhere else, but after that experience, it was well worth it. Ended up getting reservations that same day at Hampton Inn in Newburgh and had a much better experience than Red Roof Inn in Poughkeepsie could ever achieve in their lifetime.

This hotel was in pretty bad shape. We had mold in the bathroom on the first floor. The toilet was not fully attached to the ground. The room appeared okay at first glance, and thankfully the beds were very clean and surprisingly comfortable. But, there was a terrible odor in the hallway especially near the front desk. There is no longer a breakfast although there's a breakfast room. There were people loitering like they live there and I did not feel safe. There were also clothes outside of our window on the ground and a falling down fence behind us. I feel like we were price gouged because there was an event going on and hotel rooms were scarce. The front desk seem to be doing what they could but management of the hotel in general is very poor. We only stayed there because it was kind of a last minute emergency. Parking lot out front had a large not fully covered up hole in it and a small child could fall in there. I would not stay there again unless it is renovated completely. I would like to add that it was extremely loud as well, we could hear every little movement of the people upstairs.

This is my first review in a bit & as I do not like posting negative anything this must be posted. I travel, have a steady bed but not on the road. I work hard to procure a safe and clean environment for myself. I reserve rooms when needed & of course which should not be any companies standard... You get what you pay for!? Not at all. As I came into this property it seemed kept. Staff very quick and welcoming. I placed a few things in my room for when I came back for the night. I came "home" for the night turned on all the lights, tv, and before I got to shower. I found a tick on the wall. Ok they roam but sheesh. Np, after my shower I dried put my towel on the bed, did my hair & when I came back I had a friend walking across my bed. Upon further inspection I found a family of these wonderful things.... Cockroaches 🪳🪳🪳🪳. I am in the biz of resale and as in pics I had to leave behind a few things including my pants that were on the floor for shower. We need to request hidden inspections of all hotels! #notimpressed #spendgoodmoneyfornothing #redroofinn

This place is absolutely terrible. Let's start at the beginning. I tried to cancel the booking because I had a family emergency which I had to attend. They refused to cancel the booking because it was against their policy. I am understanding enough where I can accept this, but I was even willing to work with them in a reduced cost as a penalty........ they decided that it was not in their best interests. So I had someone cover for me, spoke to my family member and they were ok enough where I didn't have to be there right away and going the next day would be ok. So, because I had my family member being taken care of, I decided to go check in. When I got there, there was nobody at the desk for over 10 minutes. While I was waiting, I noticed there were other staff and a security guard there. I asked who they are and what they're doing there that I have to instead wait for someone to come to the desk. They went on to tell me that they don't work for the hotel. My next question was pertaining to their IDs and what they're for. They claimed they work separately from the hotel but that they're running a part of it. Long story short, they're housing illegal aliens "migrants" in that hotel and nowhere in the booking page does it warn you of it. I'm already pissed off enough with the fact that they didn't work with me in the cancelation and now I have to deal with "migrants" in the hotel. The way they did it was the first floor was blocked off with security for the "migrants" and the second floor was for paying customers. When the desk attendant finally arrived, she was helpful enough with changing my room to a king sized bed from a double queen. Which was nice and I was very appreciative for it. The walk to my room was an experience....... the hallway has dingy carpeting and creeking floors under it. The hallway stunk of shrimp and fish and then when I finally got to my room door, the hallway stunk of marijuana. The walk was long because I was given the room at the end of the hallway (room 201). Once I opened the room door, the room smelled fairly clean. In my first inspection of the room, it seemed fairly clean. Once I settled into the room is when I noticed all the details missed by the cleaning crew. The wood and tile floors were in need of moping. The rug that surrounds the bed looked like it hadn't been cleaned, ever! It had crusted things on it, almost like someone threw up on it and it had dried into the rug. The bed was hard and had springs sticking out which made it very hard to get comfortable enough to sleep. There was garbage in between the bed and the headrest. There was also garbage behind the refrigerator. The bathroom was fairly clean, but you can see it had a bunch of spots that needed a cleansing of sorts. I just avoided those spots. I was tired and stressed out enough with my family matter that I fell asleep through it all. When I woke, of course, I prepared for a shower. Turned on the shower and there was hot water for about 1 min. Which is insufficient time to have a proper shower. I hurried through my shower because the water felt like I took a dip in a frozen pond in the dead of winter. Got ready and went to check out. I told the guy at the desk about the lack of hot water in the room. He laughed about it so I got irritated and let him know that it's no laughing matter that people can't take a shower. He said that they were working on it and I let him know that it doesn't matter if they're working on it if I'm already checking out. Being so upset with my overall experience with this place, I didn't let him say anything else and just left. So, in conclusion, STAY AWAY FROM...

Cold cold cold! I stayed at the Red Roof Inn Plus in Poughkeepsie, NY on January 15th for 1 night. I arrived around 8:30pm and heard someone shout from a secret location "how can I help you" when I stated I would like to check in she slowly made her way out to the desk. She took my name and ID then typed in the computer for at least 10 minutes. I asked if she needed the reservation number she said no. She asked for my address again and typed some more, then asked what type of room I wanted. After 35 minutes she stated "I'll just give you room 210." She assured me it was the type of room I had booked. I had booked a Premium Room for $40 extra. The room was freezing and had only 2pillows! King size bed 2pillows! None of the Premium things were in the room! No water, snacks, upgraded coffee, and 2 pillows. I went back to the desk, the woman shouting at me again from her hidden location and on the phone with someone. I told her the room was not a Premium Room and certainly not what I had paid for. She asked what was missing. She handed me a box with a mini Kind bar, Granola bar, microwave popcorn, and OJ. I asked about the water and coffee. They were out of water and no coffee besides what was in the room. I was told I could speak with manager if I wasn't happy. Or they could process a refund which would take days. The worst part was the room was freezing and the water didn't reach body temp! Cold shower! The bathroom was freezing. The floor was like ice. I tried calling in the morning no but one ever answered! I have stayed here in the past but it was nothing like this! This was hands down the worst Hotel experience I've ever had! I could have dealt with the absolute lack of customer service and Premium amenities but the cold water and floors were terrible! As I said I attempted to report this at the property but no one would answer the phone and after 2 trips to the desk we gave up trying to...
