I recently stayed in Cabin 307 at this awesome camp ground and overall it was a great time for sure. However, I have a few things I think should be addressed. The Cabin itself looked very clean and the outside area was awesome to say the least, but the floors inside were actually really dirty and made our socks and feet nearly black in only a few minutes of walking around. We ended up having to leave are crocs on inside the cabin because of this. Not a total deal breaker or anything, but for the money we paid for the cabin that is not good in my opinion and turned us off a bit. Also, in the cabin there are glass lights within the bunk beds, which seams very strange considering that is where the kids will be sleeping. They should not be glass in my opinion, if they break it will fall into the actual bed. Lastly the Wifi did not work in our cabin due to being too far away from the source I believe. Signal was very low.. Lastly the TV's required a channel scan every time you turned them on which takes several minutes before you can see any channels. That is really weird and was a pain the few times we wanted to watch, ended up not bothering after the second day. The other issue we had was riding bikes down to the shows at night before dark was fun, but the way home was pitch black and there were no street lights or anything and is a long ride. They do suggest bike lights, so that is fair, but we got caught off guard and think this should be noted on the show invites to remind people. We all assumed there would be street lights or something for the ride back... I'll chalk that up to being my fault, but a suggestion for upgrades in future perhaps. The last negative thing I have is actually an odd one. I prefer less rules as apposed to more, and I hate being pestered by staff about stupid stuff. However, with that being said... Suron electric dirt bikes ripping around the park with kids not wearing helmets is a bit much for even me. Those things do like 60mph and could kill someone for sure. Little kids are playing everywhere and those are too much for a camp ground I think we can all agree? Now the positives worth noting, all paved roads are awesome, very clean overall except floors... Staff was absolutely awesome everywhere we interacted. The facilities are very nice, especially the pickle ball courts area, dog park, pools, and roads... So many awesome bike paths to explore!! I would absolutely recommend this place, and will probably be back at some point, but I hope those few things will...
Read moreWe stayed at lake George RV with friends. Each of us are family of 5 with kids age 2-11. The original sites we were given was 137-138 which did not work out well when traveling as a group with young kids. We asked to switch the day we arrived but we were told they didn’t have anything else next to each other available for our stay. By day 3 we couldn’t take it anymore and again requested to switch sites. As inconvenient as it was to pack everything up, our new sites were perfect. ||We rented a golf cart which made travel around the large camp ground easier. ||Sites:|Most of the campsites are large and shaded. They do have sunny sites and campsites in a parking lot.||You do not get to pick your site which can be good or bad. We noticed a lot of very large RVs with multiple slide outs. They assign spots based on your camper size and location try to take your requests into consideration.||Bathrooms:|Many bathrooms and bathhouse throughout the campground. Typical campground bathrooms. Shower area is coed because each shower has a door.||Laundry:|cash only! They have a change machine. $3.00 for wash $0.25 for every 5min for dryer. Laundry facility is located ||Store:|Stocked with lots of items, RV, and grocery needs.||West side of park: |Where the main store is located, bingo pavilion, smaller outdoor pool, pickleball, & east arcade, and theater. The sites on this side are pull through and shaded. ||East side of park:|Camp cafe, zero entry outdoor pull with splash pad, outdoor hot tub, indoor pool, east arcade, theater, and playhouse. Dog park and ponds are closer to this side. Less campsites on this side. Sites are more sunny and back in. Parking lot camping also located on this side of the park.||Nightly entertainment at 8pm:|Monday & Thursdays during the summer they do Bingo which is a lot of fun. You have a chance of winning $20-$125 gift certificate to use at the campground.|They have various shows at the playhouse which are enjoyable.|Movies: each night at 8pm they 2 movies playing. One PG and one PG13. It would be nice if the movies played at a different time. Especially for younger children who get tired early. ||Our kids enjoyed the paddle boats. Playgrounds are basic. ||Cons:|Not many activities throughout the day for kids.|Wish they had things like mini golf, gold mining, jumping pillow, Or More arts and crafts...
Read moreHaving stayed at this park for the last 7 years I would have easily given it 5 stars without question. That is until this year. Don't get me wrong, this is a fantastic park and is one of the best I have ever stayed at. The facilities are very well maintained and the park is clean and beautiful. There is a brand new dog park which is none like I have ever seen before. They recently made improvements to the main pool area and have brand new paddle boats which are free to use daily. The sports courts have been totally updated to include pickle ball (super fun) and a new basketball court. From what i understand they will be completely replacing and updating the pool area at the playhouse end of the park. This all sounds great and believe me it is, but at what cost? We, the park patrons are footing the bill for all these improvement that have been coming fast and furious over the last few years. The site fees have risen dramatically, this year especially. I recently stayed there for 7 nights and my bill was $826. For the first time ever I paid extra for each child over the age of 12. I had two 14 y/o with me that cost $9 extra a day each! Apparently your rate only includes two people. Listen, I get it. Lake George is a popular destination and this is definitely the best park in the area so you pay a premium for that. Ultimately I wouldn't mind the price so much if one very basic, super important fundamental of camping, and every camper has dealt with this before.... WATER PRESSURE (or lack thereof). This was the first year at this park where I could not shower in my own unit, unless you like the feeling of soft butterfly kisses coming from your showerhead. It didn't matter the time of day and from what I can tell the park was only at about 70% occupancy. I have been there during the busiest of times on holiday weekends and it was never close to this bad. I thought maybe something was wrong with my rig but everyone I spoke to around the park had the same issue. Come on LGRVP!! I appreciate all the improvements you have made and will continue to make but if I can barely flush my toilet there is a...
