This was a great location. The upstairs/downstairs rooms we had were a tad awkward. The double bed (kids) was downstairs with the fridge (Beer) and the door (security?) While the King bed and balcony were upstairs. (Grown-up time, have to now run down stairs for cold beer?). Being unfit, going upstairs for everything was not fun, and also, I felt the better bathroom was downstairs with the double bed and kids. However the rooms were very clean, no bed bugs! We left a disaster without putting a sign out for the maid while we were gone on the second day. She came anyway and left us fresh towels and made the beds, etc. I was surprised at the intrusion, but happy with the fresh towels, etc. We promised our kids (age 7&10) swimming. We tried the outdoor pool. We were instantly skeeved. (Compared to our own pool at home, which we keep immaculate). It was quite buggy and definitely needed a good cleaning, but compared to Lake water... It was bearable. I liked the hanging clock, so we'd know what time it was. We tried the indoor pool (also has clock) and the children there immediately informed us not to use the hot tub because someone peed in it. We tried later to find a bathroom near the pool but couldn't. I don't know if there even was one? Were we expected to walk all the way across the property to go back to our room for that? It left me thinking that the hot tub was the toilet for all of these people, and I couldn't bring myself to get into it. Despite that, I would definitely stay here again. The kids loved the playground. We could see the Six Flags fireworks on the 4th of July weekend from our balcony. I have to give only 4 stars, however, about the outdoor pool cleanliness and the lack of bathroom near both pools, or signage that would alert people to the closest bathroom. There was high traffic on this 4th of July weekend, with traffic jams right up to this hotel, and you will definitely be glad to pull in here to stay rather than be stuck in...
Read moreI called the front desk on 7/26 and requested rates for their 2 bedroom condo for 8-15 - 8/17. I was told that it was only available has a 3 night rental and was told that it was available for 8/14 -8/17.
I agreed to the 3 night rental and received my confirmation and also had my CC charged for 1 night in advance. We both had to reschedule that work week to accommodate coming up on Friday the 14th instead of Saturday the 15th.
We were looking forward to our stay.
I received a call today, 8/8; from a guy representing the front desk to inform me that “someone” had made an error and that the 2 bedroom Condo was not available for those days anymore. I asked him to explain how that could happen and he said “he had no idea”. When I told him that I had received a confirmation for the Condo for those 3 nights and that his system wouldn’t have sent it out if it wasn’t available... he couldn’t explain that either. I then told him that I felt we were getting pushed out of our reservation because the person that was renting through 8/14 wanted to stay longer and he said “ he didn’t think that was the case”.
He offered to give me a basic room that wasn’t going to accommodate our party and wasn’t even going to offer it at a reduced rate due to their callous mismanagement. He was very unprofessional in his manner and tone. He offered no apologies whatsoever. The call ended with a heated exchange of words and he indicated he was refunded my deposit.
When I called back to ask for the owners information he claimed that he was the owner and told me his name was non of my business. He then offered up his name as just “Mike”. The call ended again after another heated exchange.
I would recommend that anyone interested in staying at this Motel be diligent in making sure that their reservation is actually real and that it won’t be cancelled by some pompous idiot that either manages or owns this...
Read moreDisappointing Experience – Dishonest and Unprofessional Management||||I originally booked a 3-night stay at the Mohican Resort Motel in Lake George, NY with my husband. Unfortunately, due to unexpected car trouble, we had to have our vehicle towed back to New Jersey and were only able to stay for 2 nights. I promptly informed a staff member named Keenan, who assured me that if I contacted Booking.com, they would refund the unused third night.||||I reached out to Booking.com on three separate occasions, but each time I was told that they could not process the refund because no manager from the property was available to approve it. I eventually escalated the issue to a senior supervisor at Booking.com, who again attempted to contact the motel. This time, they spoke with a woman who was shockingly rude and unprofessional. She falsely claimed that I had received a complimentary room upgrade and a free late checkout.||||To clarify: the upgrade was offered only after we complained that our original room reeked of cigarette smoke. We were forced to stay in that room the first night, despite the odor, because it was late and we didn’t want to inconvenience anyone. The room upgrade was not a courtesy—it was damage control. As for the late checkout, we were charged $35 for it; it was not free as claimed.||||As an attorney, I find these deceptive and dishonest business practices unacceptable. I am deeply disappointed with how this situation was handled and the property’s complete lack of accountability. I intend to report this matter to the Better Business Bureau, the Consumer Protection Bureau, and the Attorney General’s office.||||I strongly urge others to avoid this...
