Been shopping here for few years, I've spent at least a couple thousand dollars in that time. Yesterday I went in to get some last minute Christmas gifts and was harassed by an elderly male employee. His thinly veiled offers for help were unending. It was pretty clear to me what he was doing, he thought I was a thief. He followed me throughout the store, pretending to be fixing cloths, or organizing things. Frequently approaching me asking me about specific items. Even went so far as to follow me to the register after I had picked out a couple hundred dollars worth of gifts. I did not see him interact with a single other customer, of which there were many. I'd turn my head to see him olding a shirt from a rack, glaring at me. I'd walk to go look at something and he would follow me and resume his charade of fixing racks.
I tried to kill him with kindness but his additue and all but blatant disrespectful approach to me as a customer has sat with me over the last 24 hours. Really killed my good mood yesterday and it's still bothering me. When I walked into a store I frequently buy from, the last thing I expected was to be treated like a criminal by one of the staff.
I'd like to see this man reprimanded or terminated. Or a written and face to face apology from him. I'll be reaching out to corprate after...
Read morePlease be cautious if you are a person of color coming to this store. We are visiting in from out of town and stopped in last week with no issue and bought a bunch of things, including a jacket. This week on our way home we stopped again to pick out a few more things.
We were followed In the store and a rep made a comment about the fact that I was wearing a LL Bean jacket. I expressed I had bought it last week and she walked away without saying anything. While her approach was friendly, her intent was very clear.
While we were never told anything specifically, the experience made us very uncomfortable and embarrassed us, so we decided to leave. It was clear we were not welcome.

Read moreVery disappointing service from LL Bean. I placed a hold on an item in the Lake George NY outlet. It was to be picked up by my relative the next day. I called after confirming the pick up would be happening to pay for the item over the phone and was told they do not take phone payments. I have made many many phone payments for many things in my life. LL Bean is a catalogue company so clearly they take payments over the phone and computer when ordering for the catalogue.
