I stayed here recently on Saturday September 9 and checked out the next day. After checking in around 9pm I went to the assigned room. When I unlocked the door, I discovered it was already occupied. The people in the room—two adults male and female—were startled and I was shocked. I apologized and went straight back to the desk. Massive error number one.||||Returning to desk, the receptionist had gone somewhere else but I had no way of knowing that—there was no sign saying “back in x minutes.” I went around the corner to the door going to the back room and knocked. No reponse. So I waited 15 minutes for the receptionist to return. She apologized but I said an apology is not sufficient. I just intruded on another guest, which is completely unacceptable. I asked to speak to the manager. She told me she was the only one on duty that night. That is bad practice. Error number two.||||Next morning at check out I asked to be compensated for their fiasco. New receptionist offered 5% discount, which is an insult, and so I refuse, saying I’ll take it up with corporate when I get home. Error number three.||||A few days later I call customer service. I tell the rep I expected a full refund due to the seriousness of the incident. First he asked if I’m a member. I said, no and I have zero interest under the circumstances. I ask to be connected with a supervisor. He puts me on hold, comes back and asks me again if I want points, as if he hadn’t just asked me 3 minutes before. I now demand to talk to the supervisor. Puts me on hold again, this time for longer. Then he proceeds to tell me that my complaint “doesn’t qualify for monetary reimbursement.” We go round again about the points and being connected to a supervisor. On hold yet again. This time he says, supervisor said there was no reason to discuss this any further. I should take it up with the local hotel staff. Their customer “service” is atrocious and corporate abrogates all responsibility for their serious mistakes—disgraceful. Error number four.||||I call the hotel and speak to an assistant manager. This time she offers me a 10% discount. I say no way, I expect full reimbursement for putting me in the position of violating another guest’s privacy. I said that as a hotel, you have a fundamental responsibility to provide for the safety and privacy of all guests and you have failed miserably.||||She then tells me they have a video of me at the desk just after the incident. Says my body language was a problem and that I was drunk, which I was not. Now the hotel has falsely accused me of intoxication based on what I said to the receptionist. Massive error number five. Needless to say, this is not the end.||||So if you want to stay at a hotel where there is a possibility that your privacy could be violated, all parties shirk any real responsibility for that violation, and they are willing to slander you in the process, then this is the place for you.||||Stay far away from this hotel and the...
Read moreThis is a very convenient location if you are visiting the Middletown-Goshen area. The hotel itself is average. The free breakfast has a lot of options, (e.g., scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, pancakes, waffles, strawberries, clementines, sausage, french toast sticks, biscuits and gravy, La La yogurt, gogurt, muffins, bagels, sliced bread, pastries, coffee, tea, etc.) but mainly sweet stuff, I wish there were more savory options. Overall this is an average hotel. It's good for the price. For 3-days/2-nights, for four people in a room, it was a little over $550. However, if I visit this area ever again, I would either rent a home or stay in a better hotel. The hotel/rooms are clean. Housekeeping only occurs at request on the weekends, so keep that in mind. I and other guest had problems with their keys and I had to get new keys. When I requested extra pillows and blankets, (2 pillows, three blankets, I was only given 1 blanket and 1 pillow, because "that's all we can do"). I had to always go downstairs to request things, (e.g., towels, toilet paper) because the telephone in my room was not working. This was also the first hotel I have been to that didn't have robes in the bathroom/closet. The staff is nice enough. However, other reviews are true; families live in the hotel, specifically the staff and their children live there. Their kids are running around constantly, which isn't safe for them or the guests. You can't focus on supervising children while also managing a hotel; there literally is a buzzer to press if you need assistance, because the staffs' time is divided. Also, I could hear them during the day and at night, fortunately I had ear plugs, but generally I am a light sleeper. The walls are very thin. Thank goodness I was on the 3rd out of 4th floor, if I heard the kids running on top of me, (i.e., they were on the 3rd floor too) I would never have slept. The pool was nice, but the pool is also rented out for swim lessons, which I thought was strange. The pool has a lot of chlorine as other reviewers wrote. The Sleeps Inn app for meditation/white noise isn't free; you need to sign up for a subscriptions, which was disappointing, because that's the marketing behind the name. Again, I probably would choose a different hotel and pay more for it (i.e., it makes sense why this is one of the cheaper hotel chains...
Read moreWell it started out great we got a military discount so we got a nice room with two queen size beds and a fireplace, refrigerator, microwave, swimming pool in the hotel which is exactly what we were looking for. We got to our room around 5 p.m. Check-in was it three. The room was still not clean, beds were not made. Called down to the front desk was immediately put on hold. I waited 5 minutes and my husband ended up going downstairs, by the time they answered he was standng in front of them. We had paid for a suite which apparently is no different than any other room except that it has a fireplace. This room was exactly the same without the fireplace. Back downstairs my husband went. Apparently there were no more fireplace rooms available and since we got the military discount they could give us no money back until we spoke to the manager the next day. It is now 6 and I have two young kids who are waiting to get into the pool and have not had dinner. Needless to say our evening did not go as planned I will say the pool was nice the water was comfortable very slippery outside of the pool where the tile was wet. There was one pool towel left in the towel rack. What's clean the beds are comfortable the pillows were awesome. The shower was okay the hot water was plenty. I will say however the tub would not drain on its own I ended up having to use the lid of the conditioner bottle under the drain to let the water out while we showered. My husband spoke with a manager this morning and he did give us a $25 refund for our trouble which I suppose is fair and as an adult so I can accept that but us two little kids who wanted nothing more had to have an extra hour in the pool$25 doesn't mean much to them. I know it's a new hotel they just need to get their...
