I found this hotel to be in very good condition, very clean. I am wondering if other people mixed up this Hilton Garden Inn with another location. ||One main reason we picked this hotel is for their parking. We have a truck towing a 5th wheel - 50 feet in length total - and need a parking lot where we can maneuver it in and out AND a parking space to fit it. This hotel absolutely has both. The parking lot in the front is maneuverable. It does test your skill a bit due to the concrete barriers throughout the parking lot. The back of the hotel is a banquet/wedding/conference center so the parking lot is HUGE and wide open. We did not opt to park behind the hotel, we parked along the side. It worked out very well. ||Google maps took us off an exit and we had to cut through town to get to this hotel. That is annoying in two ways. One: There are many stop lights and stop signs, slower roads and turns. This is a pain in the but with just driving a car, let alone towing a 30 foot 5th wheel. I recommend looking at the exit off the interstate that is closer. We did get back on the interstate this way - which made it so much easier. It is about 3 miles difference, but those are highway miles. I would MUCH rather drive a highway with a closer exit and on ramp than cut through town. This way it would definitely be easy off and easy on the interstate.||The room, hotel, parking area - everyplace was very clean. I could not see any kind of maintenance issue. The room was clean, fresh and nothing broken or falling apart. The ice machine worked very well too. It felt very good to stay here. The bed was comfortable and we had plenty of pillows. Air conditioner worked well. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked well. It's nice to have a nightlight in the bathroom too. ||We arrived at 5:00 and the two women that were at the desk were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They had very good customer service skills. They took the time to explain a bit about their hotel and how the breakfast worked. ||There are at least a couple restaurants within walking distance. We went to Burgers 2 Beer that is across the parking lot. We recommend it. The food was good, and they have many beer choices with a knowledgeable bartender. ||The breakfast was supposed to start at 6:00 am. That is the ONLY issue with this hotel. I have read in other reviews that the morning staff show up late so breakfast is late. Well, this happened during our stay also. I think maybe the hotel should fix this issue. We were up very early to get on the road. We were ready at 6:00. We checked twice to see if breakfast was ready and available and it was not. There were also no staff available to ask. At 6:25 am we went back down to the front desk and breakfast area. There still had no staff available. Instead of walking back to our room, we stood and waited. A staff member finally showed up to the desk at 6:30. We asked if breakfast was ready (food appeared to be out). He didn't answer. Instead he went to his computer, checked something on it, then said yes (I guess he had to see if we paid for breakfast in advance). As we sat eating breakfast, we noticed more staff coming in to the restaurant area. We started a half hour later to our drive due to this. ||Now about breakfast. It was very good. I recommend paying for it in advance. We paid $10 per person for the breakfast buffet. Paying the morning of the breakfast buffet would cost $17 per person. The breakfast buffet is very good. They had REAL scrambled eggs, very good fried potatoes and sausage links. The sausage links were good quality and delicious. The coffee was good. I did not see bread for toast, but they had muffins and danish. There was a bowl of oranges and apples (wrapped in plastic wrap). The offered juices and had milk in a pitcher for cereal, but we poured ourselves glass of milk to drink instead. This is a better quality breakfast than most hotel breakfasts - it was worth paying the extra money for breakfast. They also have a menu for cooked to order breakfasts. ||I would not hesitate staying here again if I was ever...
Read moreHilton Garden Inn is one of my favorite places to stop at when traveling. This hotel is conveniently located by interstate 480 and is 20 minutes from Cleveland. There is also a cracker barrel, and a few other restaraunt 2 minutes walking from the hotel on the same street. There is a Starbucks and a local town a few minutes by car, so the location is very good. The service here was excellent. The staff here are very friendly and the maid service was very good. I really liked the breakfast here and it would be worth it to get the breakfast passes. Here you can either order food with the waiter or come up to the self serve buffet. The buffet was standard hotel breakfast (eggs, sausages, etc.) but the food you can order was much better. I had the omelet and it was very good and I recommend it. I also tried the waffles and toast and they were very good. I also liked how on one day we came at 9:25 and breakfast closes at 9:30 and the waiter didn't close the kitchen and served us. I also liked how when I asked for no onion on the omelet, they were able to accommodate me. A+ for the breakfast in this hotel! Breakfast here is much better than other Hilton Garden Inns. ||There were also some things I think could have been better. The hotel interior looked like a hotel from the mid-2000s and hence, it looks older. There is a public restroom on the first floor and in the men's room, one of the stalls had a door that could barely close. The room itself was comfortable but the air conditioning unit was very loud and it was distracting to sleep at night. Since I traveled during the summer, if we turned off the AC it got hot quickly. I stayed in a standard, two queen bed unit and the bed closer to the bathroom was too close to the wall. This caused a small inconvenience any time I had to get out of bed. Overall, this is a very good hotel, however there are some things that...
Read moreStayed the night on our way back from traveling in New England area. Daughters live in area. Met at Blue Canyon (conveniently located next door) for dinner. Checked in digitally. Prefer rooms at end of hallway. We really needed a good nights rest. Selected room 501 from app. Walked directly to room with digital key ready. Door was locked, like the bolt was used or the door latch. Green light, handle moved but couldn't get in. Almost felt like room was occupied. Left husband in hallway. Went down to desk to resolve. Desk clerk didn't quite follow. Thought I was pretty clear. Kept mentioning about getting our luggage from room/locked in room???. Ultimately she moved us to a new room. Was hoping someone could just help us get into room 501.She felt otherwise. Although she was courteous. Nothing on 5th floor. Got room 422. Right next to elevator and an extremely noisy ice machine. Now the room. Definitely older property needing an update, specifically furniture (signs of abuse) and color pallette. Very dark. Maybe using some cool toned led light bulbs to brighten it up. Wall covering in bathroom and lighting fixtures looked as if someone spilled coffee or chocolate and it exploded everywhere. Went down side of sink area. Toilet needed cleaning on inner bowl. Mold and mildew visibly seen. Bedding was all good. Walls paper thin as you heard everything in adjacent room. On top of everything, must have been some type of tournament with families where adults gather and drink. Between 11pm and 1am, heard groups of people in hallway not using their inside voices returning to their rooms. Needless to say, not the...
