Two stars because the service was decent however the food was a massive disappointment. I ordered their signature steak (rib eye@ $22) with a side salad. The salad had zero taste, there was no salad dressing nor was it offered! this was a sign that things were going sideways real quick, then the steak came out and i was absolutely correct, it was paper thin and overcooked and 0 flavor, I'm not one to send food back to the kitchen but i couldn't eat this piece of flavorless leather. The server quickly knew i wasnt happy and he offered to get me another one so i waited about 10 minutes and here he was with another rib eye, this time it was pretty much raw and had 0 flavor, it was like taking a bite or of a piece of meat right out of the fridge! I literally gagged! Needless to say i had to spit it out, the server immediately saw i wasn't going to eat it so he asked me if I would like something else, i ended up getting a fajita which was edible but again, if it weren't for the vegetables this dish had 0 flavor! Eating the chicken alone was absolutely flavorless so i had to ask for some salt. I had high hopes for this place but to be honest i will never eat here again!! There are to many other Mexican restaurants that can actually season their food for the same price! If you want good Mexican food i highly recommend Los Gallos in downtown Bedford!! The food is fantastic and their drinks are made right! My long island iced tea at Tulum was more ice than tea! I have second hand embarrassment for this Tulum, they need to learn how to season their food and if you're going to call your rib eye steak a signature dish then learn how to cook one! And for the love of God USE SOME SALT!!!

Read moreWe were excited after discovering that a new Mexican restaurant was opening nearby and ended up going there with some friends on a Friday. While we realize it is only a few months old and it has been challenging to find help, this place has a lot of room for improvement. Positives-Great atmosphere and location. Menu is different than standard Mexican fare. Chips and salsa were delicious. Food quality seems solid and the staff was very nice. Negatives-service was about the worst we've ever had. It was clear from the get go this girl was in over her head and struggled to do even basic things the entire night. 2 servers for the entire restaurant was definitely not enough but she needs some serious training.
The food was disappointing as well. It wasn't terrible, but there is a lot of things they need to consider adjusting. Steak Fajita's-the meat consisted of the thinnest, tiniest strips I've ever seen. So thin it was hard to differentiate from the onions and peppers. Why such tiny sized meat? Ingredients tasted good and the guacamole and refried beans were also tasty but the rice was bland. My wife had quesadillas with steak and said it was loaded with so many onions and peppers she didn't even know it had steak. To tops things off, for some reason they used cheese sauce so it was a mess. After a few minutes she simply gave up. Another person had the fish tacos which she said tasted good but she was disappointed with the portion size.
