Welcome to La Quinta by Wyndham ✨ It’s giving bougie on a budget 😂 Cozy room, LED mirror that exposed my pores, and a fitness center that closes at 11 (but don’t worry, I do fitness… fit all these snacks in my mouth 🥤🍫). Honestly? Comfy, convenient, and wallet-friendly. #hotelreview #tylertx #traveltok #bougieonabudget #laquinta

Promised my grandbabies we would stay the weekend at all hotels with indoor pools in our area. This is #4. First thou , this trip was booked thru Priceline with the Express Deal offer.... I wasn't impressed and didn't save money by doing that plus I wouldn't have picked this hotel either. Since you don't know till you book it, I was stuck with it. Oh well we was going to visit here anyways eventually. THE REVIEW: There is some weird smell like other reviews say that I noticed at first. Its like a abandoned house or old barn smells kinda. Like stale old dirt or something. Not horrible but I did notice it. As far as it being "out dated" I don't think its that but more like the decorator didn't use what colors complimented each other. Like if you go with earth tones stay with your natural colors of the brown pallet and don't mix with contemporary grays. And the pictures chosen are kinda all over the place and don't exactly coordinate well. Maybe the color is to jive with the logo. I'm not sure. The rooms were fine. Clean , soft bedding and pillows, and enough fluffy towels and rags supplied in the bathroom. Has a fridge and microwave in storage area under TV. A desk and chair with good amount of plugs to charge devices. There was a coffee machine in the room with coffee or they have a station with breakfast. The bathroom was fine in size but the tub was rather small and the stopper didn't plug well and drained slowly. I had hot water every time so that wasn't a problem like others stated but I think it may be the time others showered when they had warm to cold. (Maybe hotel needs to up grade the hot water heating system or something but I had no problems) Breakfast offers the traditional continental breakfast plus hot items as well. My orange juice was fine and not watered-down as some reviews said. The pool was a little disappointing. Its small and signs states max of 10 guests in pool. I'm not sure but I think you cant even get in pool area if alot of guests already in there because my key card wouldn't work for pool at one point and it looked like several guests already in there. They did at least had pool towels on hand the entire trip where some hotels have not. The fitness center has your basic workout items including yoga mats. There is a water machine and towels also in there. They have on site guest laundry. They only have 1 washer and 1 dryer but it wasn't in use when I used it and the fact its on first floor with fitness center and pool was convient for me. Laundry is $2 (each-per load) They have snack and misc items avaliable at front but I didn't purchase anything. Looked like a good selection of stuff thou. All in all this isn't a bad place to stay. I use alot of the amenities that all the hotels offer and everything was up and running here with nothing out of order during our stay. (I suggest thou If you want a pool call ahead to make sure its not closed for maintenance so you aren't disappointed ) Some of the reviews I read....well all I have to say is this is East Texas. You aint gunna get a luxury resort style hotel around here for the price of what you paid for this one. Not sure what these people expected . I really don't agree with this location being a 3 star when others I thought was better are just rated a 2.5. In conclusion, not at all a bad place to stay for the price. You shouldn't be disappointed for what they offer vs the price. Have a good trip!

Horrible hotel to stay. King bedroom smells mold upon entering and the AC is dirty. I called in advance to inquire if I can extend my stay for few hours during my booking and receptionist explained to me there's gonna be charges which I understood. Upon checking in and decided to extend my stay for few hours because of personal travel issue. She told me I can't extend my stay because they were already fully booked the next day even I only asked for 4 hours not a whole day. When I looked up online I'm able to book and there's rooms available. Bad experience! Never again!. 5/2/2024 Update response to the owner: Why should I have to adjust?. In the first place if y’all staff does a good cleaning the room shouldn’t be smell like mold and that proves nobody even double check if the room is clean before letting the guest come in. I did my part as a guest to inquire in advance but the management sucks! Check reviews first before going in this hotel!

I came in on October 19th for my mother's funeral on Saturday. I love staying here when I come into Tyler. A great hotel in a great location. The service is normally good. Except the last few times I have come, I had to deal with I believe her name is Raven, she works the overnight shift. She is not friendly, she has lied on 3 separate occasions that I have caught her in. I didn't want to write about it but this last trip has done it for me. My first trip to this hotel months ago she lied said they where booked out to find out it was not true. I had my girlfriend to go outside book the hotel to come right back in 20 minutes later to have a room. She didn't see me until my girlfriend text me to come in after we pulled up in the system. I came back another month later at night again, I believe her name is Raven. I walked in and she did the same thing again telling me they where booked out after I had already told her I had a room reserved. Finally she found it and did not apologize. The most recent time happened on my third trip there on October 19-20th, I went down around 1:00am to let her know I was going to book for another night to stay on 10/21 and she said we do not have any availability for the weekend, we are all sold out. I went back to my room to reserve the extra day for the 21st with no problem at all. Came down the next day they had me in the system with my extra day reserved. I am not sure if this is a common thing with her or what. However, her professionalism and how she deals with customers needs training and need to be better. She works in the hospitality industry. If she does not understand what that means, she probably she not be working their. She has the same demeanor everytime I come and deal with her. Everyone else is great and goes above and beyond except her. I hope this is addressed before my next...

I wish I could give a rating of 0 stars! My husband called to place a reservation for myself, our young daughter, and our dog the evening we were supposed to stay. The "gentleman" working the front desk assured him that the reservation had been placed after taking down my name and my husband's credit card information. When we arrived at the hotel that night, August 28th, 2020 to be exact, the gentleman from the next shift informed me that they were all booked up and no reservation had been made for us. I verified again with my husband, who in turn hung up with me and called the front desk in front of me and spoke to the gentleman I was then speaking to, confirming I was at the right hotel, as there are 3 LaQuinta Inn hotels in the Tyler area. When the man I was speaking to called the other employee who told my husband the reservation was made, that employee said that as he was making the reservation the rooms all got booked simultaneously, and he forgot to call my husband and let him know. HE SAID HE FORGOT!!! He didn't give my husband a confirmation # and we didn't know we needed one because the man said we had a reservation! So there we were left with "Chris" to try to make it right. He called the other LaQuinta on S. Broadway and made sure they had a room available and gave me their address and phone #. We ended up having to pay more money to stay at the other hotel than it would've been at this one, not to mention the aggravation of having to be out and about so late at night, just a woman, a little girl, and a dog with nowhere to stay in an unfamiliar place! I expected much more from LaQuinta Inn and Suites. At least our room at the other hotel was nice and so was the lady at the front desk....I've been treated better at fast food restaurant...
