Lazyboy is no longer the OLD fashion LAZYBOY that you could trust and rely on. I had a set that was almost 30 years old and is in fair condition but was remodeling my home and decided to have new furniture and was planning a significant family event at my home. Lazyboy is now owned and operated by LEDCO out of Dallas. Michelle Mauldin who apparently was supposed to be a manager had no clue what she was saying or promising.
LEDCO out of Dallas was originally delivering my NEW furniture at the end of March, but that didnât work for them, and then they suggested April 3, but called the day before April 3 to say their delivery day was full for them so theyâre going to now deliver it on April 12 they only deliver to Tyler on a Friday (meanwhile I gave all my furniture away April 2 because I thought it was coming that week).
April 11 the day before proposed delivery they called and stated they had lost my couch but they have the recliner⌠would I like the recliner while weâre waiting to find the couch I responded no! I asked them to replace the order for a new couch as soon as possible to be delivered and they told me they couldnât until they find the original one. So, Iâm to suffer⌠because of their error and lost and found??? I had an very important family event that I had ordered this furniture for, and because of their poor management and working ethics and dishonesty and the furniture never arriving the family event had to be moved at my additional expense. NO ONE CARES HERE!!!
April 19, they called and found a couch just like mine ONLY itâs in chocolate brown, not the beige as I ordered. Would Iâd like that with my beige recliner? Michelle stated it wouldnât look too bad ⌠they would go together, and by the way the couch is a manual recliner. Itâs not the power recliner which I ordered. I responded no!
April 26 they called late in the day and said they found my coach it is in Illinois, and I live in TEXAS they were having it shipped to them. They would get in touch with me next week. - - April 30 they called me apparently the couch arrived at the Dallas Warehouse in a million pieces. It is totally unsalvageable.
I asked how it was delivered to Dallas by horse and buggy? Are these people for real? THEY DID NOT AND DO NOT CARE!!! I asked what NOW??? I was to receive that order of furniture 6 to 8 weeks after it was placed which wouldâve been mid-March and here, I was at the end of April and no new furniture.
They said they would put a NEW order in right away and put it on the top of the list.
Michelle called back 10 min later apologizing and said we have a slight problem that fabric you choose is no longer available with that group of fabrics, it has been removed from the options. We are sorry to tell you this, but could you please go to the store in Tyler and pick out a new fabric choice.
I finally realized and I now know why this whole process has dragged on as long as it has. Godâs finally getting through to me and Iâm clearly hearing the message heâs delivering to me âDO NOT BUY ANYTHINGâ from Lazyboy NOW OR EVER!!! I was so mad after a silent moment or two, I responded, I donât know. Iâm going to have to pray and think about this and discuss it with my family.
They responded, âOK we will be looking forward to hearing from you and we must point out try and do it as soon as possible because this new set will take anywhere from 8 to 20 weeks for delivery!â
I went into the TYLER store the next afternoon and told the manager who was my sales agent to cancel the order now I'm done with incompetent, non caring LAZYBOY
There are a lot of great stores to shop for furniture from in Tyler, and much cheaper then LAZYBOY PLEASE check the reviews out before your shop. Remember, LAZYBOY is not the great quality furniture store it used to be, where you could get 30 years of quality service and product. I will never go back to them, that...
Read moreWhen a company thatâs been around a long time has a âthey need us more than we need themâ attitude itâs hard to shop there again and hard to miss them when theyâre gone. Sears, Macyâs, Toys R Us and other stores forgot that itâs 2020 and there is plenty of competition out there and they ultimately suffered.
My first, and probably last experience with La-Z-Boy Tyler started off okay. âWesâ are salesman was friendly and informative.
I had two minor issues during the selection phase (3 visit process). The first issue was when we finally took Wes up on the offer to take sample material home. I drove in from Flint to pick up samples, he then (not before) mentions itâs a $25 per material deposit (cash or check only), my deposit total was $50 but I only had $40 in cash and he sent me out to get the $10. Little frustrating but not the end of the world. The other slight issue was when it came time to discuss the delivery charge. I purchased my sectional during a time where âthe Memorial Day sale had been extendedâ but apparently not all of it. The interest rate special was extended, NOT the $80 delivery charge, how convenient.
The first main issue was AFTER I completed the paper work for purchase. My sectional, as it sat on the showroom floor was explained to me that it was one of five patterns you could have the coach made in. Those five patterns were not considered âspecial orderâ and that was shown/proven by no additional fee charged to have them made in any of the five materials. However, once I signed for the purchase the lady behind the counter told me that although no additional fee was charged itâs considered a âspecial orderâ and the sectional has no refunds or exchanges. Thatâs not what we were told the entire process.
The other problem was during the selection process the dates were 6-8 weeks for delivery. Once my credit card info was taken it was 8-10 weeks..... In 2020, 8-10 weeks is a long time to wait for something. Staff said we could call during the 8-10 weeks and they would check on the items for us. We did that three (3) times and every time weâd get attitude and every time the lady would start with âWELL ITâS ONLY BEEN 2 weeks, 4 weeks, etcâ. I know how long itâs been, you donât need to start the update with attitude while provided a service I was told was available.
So we are just over 10 weeks now as Iâm leaving this review. My sectional is being delivered today. I could have had it delivered yesterday but requested a morning time slot which they didnât have BUT they did have a morning time slot today, around 10:30 they tell me..... when my phone rang this morning at 8:53 I was thinking theyâd tell me they are on the way, Nope!! Female voice tells me they will be at my house between â2:30-3:30â which I reply, âSo not 10:30??â Her response with slight attitude, âNo, 2:30-3:30â......
So I wait for a sectional that I canât exchange (which Iâm not wanting to but you never know how something looks until itâs actually in the house) at a time that wasnât agreed to (both weeks for manufacturing & delivery time today). Next time Iâll probably be spending my...
Read moreWe had a great experience at the beginning. We dealt with Shera and explained that we had dogs and though we hadn't had any problems with our previous couch, we wanted similar material, i.e. a tough fabric. The couch we picked appeared to be perfect and it was in stock. We purchased the warranty by Guardian, not cheap, and it isn't worth the paper it is printed on. A week later we noticed damage on the left side of the couch. We don't know if one of the dogs did it or one of us snagged it on something. We called and Christine answered the phone. Shera was gone for the weekend. She promised to have her call when she.got back - didn't happen. By this time my wife had submitted a claim to Guardian, which had gotten no response. She tried calling Guardian and gave up after 40 minutes on hold.. When we finally got Shera on the phone after several attempts.to reach her, she also said a claim would have to be made and when we told her we couldn't get a response from Guardian, she said she would talk to her boss and call us back - didn't happen. Today we received an email from Guardian stating that normally the damage would be covered but because we didn't know how.it occurred they would NOT cover it. The email also stated.that claims, once rejected,, cannot be resubmitted. In other words, we aren't allowed to appeal their decision. We are out $170 for a worthless warranty program that, apparently, Lazboy uses to avoid responsibility while appearing to offer customers peace-of-mimd. A word of warning - La-Z-Boy doesn't back up their product. Purchase from them at your own risk and DO NOT buy...
