Upon arrival, it was nice. The only nice person was the 1st lady who greeted us at the desk. She even asked if we needed assistance with our bags to our rooms. However, it all went down hill from there. i came all the way from FL driving and I've never expected this to be the worst trip ever. That night there was a storm and granted they weren't prepared for mother nature, but so much more could have been done. I understand that things have gotten chaotic, but there is no way by any means that the staff needed to unleash their frustration out at the guests. After all we're still paying customers. The power went out, there was no air condition in the middle of a heatwave. We had no running water. The kitchen was closed. It was absolutely horrible. I would have had a better night's rest sleeping in my car. The next day, still no power. They had their generator attached to certain equipment. We had one working elevator and my room was on the 10th floor out of 11. Still no running water. Can't flush the toilets. Can't shower. They offered one shower each for both men and women in the hotel down in the locker rooms. The water was ice cold. I had a baby with me and I didn't even dare let her bathe in that. My friend (also staying at the hotel) had to get her hair done in the back office in some warehouse looking section of the hotel since there was no power. Their whole attitude was that well it was nature's fault, nothing we can do about it so too bad. Well not too bad. Horrible Horrible customer service. They didn't even clean the rooms for the entire time I was there. There was still light (even if it was natural through the windows). There's a things called windex, lysol, n paper towels that don't require water to clean. They never made my bed or brought fresh towels and when I was ready for check out making sure I packed all my things, I found a pair of underwear behind the chair in the corner that was neither mine or my husbands. Beyond gross. Wonder if they ever clean? I would never stay at this hotel and wouldn't suggest to anyone to either. Very poor on their part. If i could have actually selected no stars I would have. I felt soooo sorry for the bride and groom. They apologized way more than the staff at Westin whom didn't even say sorry once....
Read moreI decided to treat my 7 year old to a fun weekend getaway during DC Kite Festival and chose this hotel for it’s proximity to the metro station and pool which my son requires if we stay anywhere. I had stayed here before and despite the nickel and diming of things like paid parking, extra for in room WIFI, I decided to choose this hotel because room service and food is excellent and convenient, and for the pool. But it wasn’t until we were trying to get to the pool that we were told it was closed 2 months earlier to make room for yet MORE Meeting and conference rooms. They already have the hotel with more than enough meeting rooms but apparently making more money for conferences is their priority versus families or those with children enjoying their stays. Most 4 star hotels offer a pool so this was disappointing and misleading on the booking web sites. We were given a different quality of room this time once they saw I had our 2 family dogs. It was not nearly as nice a room as the one I had a few months ago, the room seemed older, musty and the Ac didn’t work for hours until maintenance came to fix it that night. The bed had a huge brown stain on its sheets which housekeeping replaced but that is just unacceptable. No one on staff offered any sort of consolation or comp for anything for the issues of a dirty bed, non working A.C., etc. The room service was best part, really, excellent food. It’s expensive with a 22% gratuity automatically added plus $3 delivery fee and yet each service each time gives you a look if you don’t STILL don’t add even MORE on the tip line. For eggs and bacon and French toast with juice and coffee pot, it was $67! So be prepared. When adding $10 parking fee, $15 internet charges well it all adds up to seem like a lot for a simple room and no real amenities. Customer service was fine enough but I just feel it’s an average hotel with above average costs...better to become an event company than a hotel if hotels can’t cater to all types of guests who may come and want something other thAn a meeting room to hang out in. #dakinigoddessofmarrakech...
