When I used the fruit-infused ice water in the lobby to fill up my water bottle, the breakfast preparation staff member (gray-haired older Caucasian woman) made a passive aggressive comment under her breath as she walked by/away from me about how the ice water in the lobby âwasnât meant for that.â
I am paying your establishment for my stay and other aspects of hospitality involved. Doesnât that mean that I can drink the water in the lobby? Whether it is in a small cup or in a water bottle? And if not, isnât there a more professional way to address the matter? It was 6:00 AM. There was literally no other person in the area or waiting in line for the water in any manner. If someone was waiting, I would have stepped aside in order to avoid the formation of a line.
I chose the Comfort Inn in Allentown bc all of my other stays at other locations in Pennsylvania, Colorado, Wisconsin, and several other states have been very enjoyable while traveling. I have always used the refreshing ice water in the lobby to fill up my water bottle at the beginning of the day because it tastes far better than the water from the sinks in the hotel room. This is the first time ever that a staff member has taken it upon themselves to deliver a passive-aggressive verbal reprimand to me for doing so. That one interaction at the beginning of my stay really left a bad taste in my mouth as it made me question the staff motive for interacting with me in such a manner. Was it my race/ethnicity? Was it because she did not want to do her job and refill the water after I drank it? Was she just having a bad day and decided to take it out on a customer/guest? Only she knows.
Regardless, it will certainly lead me to hesitate before booking another stay there anytime in the future or recommending it to...
Read moreThis was probably the worst hotel Iâve ever stayed at in my entire life. The front desk is empty half of the time so you have to wait for somebody to show up to help you out. Before you know it, youâll have a line of 6 people formed and theyâll be all over the place trying to figure out where to put you. The choicehotels app doesnât make sense either because I got charged a few weeks ago when I booked this and then again when I checked in. Donât know why. I bought a bag of chips from the vending machine on the 3rd floor and the chips expired in 2021. The second you get onto the 3rd floor, the hallway straight up smells like old baby diapers and the rooms just smell musty and moldy. Also, my room had a door that connects to the next room over. In the room next to me, the person had a dog and the dog kept jumping on the door and barking. The barking scared my son and made him cry. Heâs 1. The more the dog jumped, the more my son cried, which caused the dog to bark even more. They also have a menu of false advertisement listing various beverages, drinks, and meals that are supposedly available. However, I stayed for 3 days and nothing was available any of the days. I couldnât even get water to use to make my sonâs bottle. The bottled water they store downstairs for breakfast is gone after 9am, nobody is selling any at the âbarâ, and the vending machines are sold out. They have a dispenser with lemon water, but my son is allergic to lemon so that didnât work either. Donât know why they have lemon water instead of regular water. Also, the complimentary breakfast looks and tastes disgusting. The eggs are stale and look like crap, the bacon is raw, and potatoes are undercooked. Also, my room didnât have soap. Truly...
Read moreSo the only reason I have this place as many stars as i did for each category is because I have stayed here numerous times with no incident and I am chalking it up to New uneducated lazy workers. I went to check in later last night, the girl asked me for my id and credit card for incidentals. I said sure here ya go, you just run it you don't charge it? She said no we charge a 100 incidental. I said since when I have stayed here a number of times and all they do is take my card number, put it in my file, and then if there is anything wrong with the room that card will be charged. She told me no since I booked thru a 3rd party. K cool. I call my 3rd party which is another bad review to write next, and after 2 hours of watching this girl go in and out smoking cigs, and arguing for someone to please help me figure something out, I said wait can you call the hotel to see if they accept cash deposits?? And what do you know they do. My question is why wasn't your girl trained to say, "yes I'm sorry it must be a while since youve last visited. If it helps any, we also take cash" instead of having me sit outside for that long only for me, the customer, to think of it???? I am sad to say I won't ever be back as long as I know she is working there. On a positive note, Brandon from housekeeping just made my whole morning. He seems legit, id keep him around! You may not know it Brandon but your words are powerful and you turned my whole day around just by being kind. Don't lose that. And thank...
