After staying at bayside every season while living in fairbanks...it was super...uber clean restrooms, friendly owners...very helpful...close to the harbor, reasonable price loved going every year....til ownership changed...fell through and total cluster when we went on a prepaid trip....evidently the new owners bailed...so i understand the frustration for the old owners awesome people and staff btw...when they had to come back to take over the mess the prior owner had done...bathrooms went to hell...not clean as they used to be...so after booking online through the new owners...we get into park to find out the new situation....we ended up having to pay cash ...even though we had paid online..(refund did come) then had to pay additional amount...cash only...which we didnt carry that much extra on us...the old owners aka new owners had taken the atm...so no function there...no credit card machine ...the old owners had thier hands full...no reservation list to go by or contact reserved customers to tell them of the increase or hassle....nor the nastiness they had no time to clean up...and evidently they had new buyers on line just waiting for the transaction to finalize....bottom line....wish they hadnt sold..they had a great rep...great service clean bathrooms...but to add additional fee on top of an increase anyway from the bozo owners who bailed...not right....hoping to find a more recent review before we book for this season....dont want to pay for nasty bathroom/shower....nor double charging....old owners were awesome..ran a good park...always recommended them...til this past...
Read moreIt was awesome until I was returning to my camper from changing my laundry out and I see a guy walking right next to my camper on the phone and of course my dogs are losing their minds bc he was one foot from my camper window. Voicemail said “dogs have been barking all day can you please come take care of them”. I returned 2 hours ago at 4:30 and they were completely sielent when I arrived so I don’t exactly see how they’ve now been barking all day as of 6:30 when I spent 10 minutes changing laundry out. Now I feel so very extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome here and I’m stuck bc my laundry won’t be done for another couple of hours. If that wasn’t the case, I’d leave. I told the woman when I checked in yesterday I was doing a boat tour today. That was a grand total of six hours and my beagles will sometimes howl like they’re dying, especially if someone is close to the camper and not to worry they are fine. — the 15 minutes I do my laundry you’re walking around my campsite talking on the phone and I stupidly thought I could have my little window opened while I’m gone for that 15 minutes.sure they howled some during the day but they are definitely going to howl if you’re 1 foot from my window. And my communication with the woman when I checked in yesterday was completely pointless. wish I could go right now 🥲 bonus— don’t feel like I can leave them for 15 minutes to use the shower— so thanks for the amenities I’m not...
Read moreRarely do we stay in RV parks and never do I review anything but this is worth it. This was worth a two night stay after 1 night planned. VERY clean, only 2 rules (not 10 like other places and truck stops) for showers (#1-keep curtain inside shower and #2- keep door open when leaving). Landry room fully funtional and 3 units of each. Very, very tidy outfit John and family run here. Showers are good pressure and temp of water (and not excessive which would raise costs). Very clean and welcoming common areas without overload of sales and pushy "stuff". Washrooms always clean as a whistle (no hair in drains, clean morrirs, no toothpaste mints etc etc). Very nice staff (family run operation). The best views of the surrounding hills by far. Great grass for my pooch to watch and smell things go by. Good place for options for type of campsite to suit your needs. Picturesque. Eagle in area regularily. So majestic. We looked around at the other RV sites and they dont fit into our requirements. Nothing wrong with them, just not our cup of tea as we are off grid capable for at least 4 days easy and this place is our cup of tea. Great place to freshen up. Its beside the main drag but all the RV places are in this small town. Bit noisey but thats just the drivers in town, not a reflection of the campground or anything you do get the choice of. No problem for us. Truck with truck camper on, momma, dadda,...
