🌴🏖️ A Beach Retreat: Your Perfect Getaway on Casey Key! 🏖️🌴 Our recent stay at A Beach Retreat on Casey Key was nothing short of exceptional! This boutique beachfront motel offers the unique advantage of both Gulf and Intracoastal Waterway access, providing picturesque views and a serene atmosphere. Highlights of Our Stay: Charming Efficiency Suite: The well-appointed efficiency allowed us to prepare our own meals, adding convenience and a homely touch to our vacation. Prime Location: Just a short stroll to Pop’s Sunset Grill, Nokomis Beach, and a quick drive to Venice’s Main Street, we were perfectly situated to explore local attractions. Gracious Hosts: Owners JJ & Natalie were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring our comfort throughout our stay. Repeat Visitors: This was our second visit, and it certainly won't be our last! Exploring the Area: Casey Key: A tranquil barrier island renowned for its pristine beaches and laid-back ambiance, offering a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Venice Beach: Known as the "Shark Tooth Capital of the World," it's a haven for beachcombers seeking fossilized shark teeth, some dating back millions of years. (VISIT SARASOTA) Shark Tooth Hunting: The beaches around Venice, including Casey Key, are treasure troves for fossil enthusiasts. The fossilized shark teeth found here are estimated to be between 2 to 35 million years old, offering a unique glimpse into prehistoric marine life. (HERALD TRIBUNE) Final Thoughts: If you're seeking a relaxing retreat with the comforts of home and the beauty of Florida's Gulf Coast, A Beach Retreat on Casey Key is the place to be. We can't wait to return! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Very quiet after the sun goes down, especially considering it's right next to Nokomis public beach.Nokomis sunset drum circle twice a week at the public beach is very entertaining. Casey key is a dead end in both directions, so very little vehicle traffic, especially at night. No restaurants on this side of the bridge really helps with the quiet too. Pops and Pelican Alley, both great restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance just over the bridge. Walking over to the fishing park on the bay side early mornings and watching the boats go out, the bridge go up was a favorite activity. Rooms are small, cozy for two, but three or four would be very crowded (don't bring the kids). Very clean, well maintained, but showing it's age.

It was our second time staying and such a great experience overall. The staff are wonderful and truly work to provide an impeccable guest experience. The newly renovated unit where we stayed was was beautiful. My only complaint was that the only sitting options other than the bed were the rather uncomfortable kitchen table chairs. (Photos of the unit before the renovation appear to show a loveseat or similar.) Renovations were occurring in some of the other units but was only a minor inconvenience. I love that there was a broom and dustpan available to sweep up the sand we inevitably tracked in from the beach. It’s a perfect spot for amazing sunsets and there are two restaurants within walking distance.

Beautiful room and so close to the beach, less than a minute walk. The room was updated and very nice, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. Parking was limited but we always had a spot and it was never far. The pool was nice and clean but smaller than I pictured. 10 people and it felt crowded. We booked through the company via phone so we got to choose our room. If you book through Expedia you may save a little money but you won't be able to pick your room, just the type. Highly recommend beachside efficiency. Bay side was really close to the bridge with all the rambunctious teens you can read about in the other reviews. There is a street intersecting the Bayside and beachside portions but for the most part traffic was limited and everyone drove carefully and slowly with so many crossing the street. The only negative part that happened is that we had booked room 20 because it had a king bed and futon which I planned to use for the kiddos but when we arrived after hours they had assigned us room 21 which had one queen bed. I talked to the staff in the morning and unfortunately someone had switched our room and given it away. They did bring in a pull away bed but my kids wouldn't sleep on it because I couldn't put it next to the queen bed. I was disappointed as this was the reason I booked through the hotel to avoid this 😞 staff was very apologetic and tried their best to accommodate but unfortunately room 20 was only open our very last day and it wasn't worth switching. So something to be aware of if you need a specific room. However, staff is very easy going as far as how many can stay in a room and providing extra towels/bedding to accommodate. The beach was great, though there was a tiny bit of a drop when walking out into the water. Still fine for kids though. Lots and lots of shells but somehow never hurt our feet, even without shoes. Some neighbors did stay up late drinking and sitting outside at the tables but we always pack a sound machine and once I turned it on I didn't hear them at all. There weren't any chairs left behind by other guests but the hotel recommended Florida bike and beach rentals. Price was fair and they delivered to our door. They didn't set them up and I did have to pack them in and out each time but set up was easy and they were light weight and had handles for carrying. We tried to go to caspersen beach for shark teeth but the road had been washed away by the hurricane. We parked in south brohard park and you can walk down but we just stayed there. The waves were much rougher than nokomis but people found a ton of shark teeth! You can get the gear you see everyone using at shark frenzy to buy or rent. Definitely recommend though I am hesitate because I'd like to keep this as my little secret. Will...

We spent a few days here. 7/21-7/23/2024 here. We stayed in #16. This was a beachside studio unit. Direct beach access with added benefit of having a shower right at beach path. Short path to beach. Nokomis Beach was beautiful! This resort is right next to the public access parking. Grill and chairs on location. Unit inside was cozy with an oversized chair, table, 2 dining chairs. Kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, silverware. No spices or extras in kitchen. Freezer had 2 ice trays with was helpful. Stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and oven on site. Bed was a bit too firm for my liking but not bad. Water pressure in the shower is EXCELLENT! BEST EVER! Towels are provided and can swoop out for clean at office from 9-5pm each day. Clean facilities. No room service daily, which was okay for us. Paid laundry on site. One load cost 3.25 to wash and dry. No coin changer and no access to soap, bring with you. Pops restaurant will give you 10% off if you eat there. No smoking or animals allowed which is neutral for me. Docks to fish across small road. Parking could be better, as parking is limited and tight. Outdoor pool on site. We did not use it but looked really clean and nice. Small pool 6 ft depth max.

If you visit here must also go to siesta key beach 15 miles (30 minute drive).

I gave this a 5 star review however here are some suggestions for improvement: Unit #16 -blackout curtains would be helpful. The outside light makes it hard to sleep. -invest in new mattress -invest in new comforter- this one is musty -keys did not work in the door, needed...
