Update: fixed the plumbing. I’m here right now. DO NOT STAY HERE! Try a different beachfront hotel. Why sell rooms if the septic tanks are full? How long do these tanks have to be full, until the toilet stops working? The refrigerator and microwave don’t work. Rug and shower needs cleaning. Beyond that the location is pristine and beautiful. If inconveniences with the amenities are something that don’t bother you then I would say it’s completely worth it just having to close proximity to the beach. We enjoy the sunset every night. I’m gonna attach pictures. They are “fully booked” and our toilet stopped working. I only urinated, so barely any paper is needed for that. Anyway, the plunger is not working to unclog the toilet. So I call front desk and speak to Susan who advises me that the septic tank is full and needs to be emptied out and that the former owner did not let them know. WHY sell rooms when there is an ongoing plumbing deficiency? In Susan’s defense though she isn’t maintenance/a manager, so there is not much she can do. However NO ONE is available to her. So I ask whether maintenance can come help and she said that no one is available and we have to wait until tomorrow. I ask when they will come to empty the septic tank. She doesn’t know. I ask when maintenance can come tomorrow and she doesn’t know. She agrees that this is a horrible experience. I ask when the front desk manager comes in—7am and they can get maintenance out. When does the general manager come in—10 am. I will update tomorrow, especially since it’s day 1 of 3.

Our visit to Casey Key Resorts was defined by its outstanding beachfront amenities, and this review focuses solely on those exterior features, not the standing rooms. The beachfront location, adorned with charming bungalows, stood out as a highlight of our trip. The private beach, equipped with chairs and umbrellas, offered a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere, making our days by the ocean truly memorable. The convenience of the van service, with hourly trips to and from the beach, enhanced the overall ease and enjoyment of our stay. This service allowed us to effortlessly spend our days soaking up the sun on the tranquil, uncrowded beach. The shuttle driver, John, was particularly accommodating, providing cold water, chairs at the beach, and friendly local insights that enriched our experience. The beach itself was pristine and inviting, offering a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The peaceful surroundings allowed for a serene and uninterrupted day by the water. The efficient and thoughtful setup of chairs and umbrellas ensured we had everything needed for a comfortable day. The combination of a beautiful beachfront location, excellent service, and the added convenience of the shuttle made our beach experience at Casey Key Resorts truly exceptional. This aspect of our visit was undoubtedly the most memorable and enjoyable, and it is a significant reason why we look forward to returning.

Alright - rare I'll post outside of the Florida Keys...but had occasion to head North/West to Venice for a quick 2 day escape. Randomly grabbed a room at Casey Key - Beachfront with my wife for first kiss anniversary (18th year). Room....tray ceiling complimented by a ceiling fan, modern bathroom, great shower (ahhh...water pressure), large screen TV preconfigured with all streaming options, microwave, fridge...and that was just the start. Location. Location. Location. This is NOT beach adjacent...this is ON THE BEACH. Grounds on your walk from your room to the beach are outstanding. Putting green, hammocks, private and communal lounge areas abound. Shout out to Steve, who works there, greeted me on the sand to set up a chaise, an umbrella, and a share a little recent history of beach reconditioning and health (which was welcome). Aside from some great shelling with the misses - another highlight was a 6:00am bike ride on the beach...which was awesome - 8 miles of continuous sand at high tide (note -fat tire eBike is a win). 100% recommend and will book again.

I want to be fair when writing this review because we actually had a somewhat bad time at this resort. However, it wasn't all bad and after talking to the management, I truly believe they are trying to improve this resort location. Let's do Good, Fair and Bad on this review. The Good: I added pictures; the resort is fairly small and all the rooms are slightly different sizes. Our group had five rooms. The rooms were bright and inviting. They used a real beach feel to the decor of the rooms. The bathroom seemed newly renovated with a trendy shower (no bathtub), toilet, sink, plenty of space in drawers and a modern back lit mirror. Each room had a heater/ AC unit and a silent fan over the bed. The tv in our room was perhaps the largest I've ever had in a rented room. The tv programing consisted of streaming services and LG tv streaming. Of course each room had WiFi. The bed was comfortable and even though I have a nightmare back injury, I slept quite comfortably each night. We were also treated to a larger studio fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The resort was a short path away from the beach and ocean. The resort had beach umbrellas and plenty of lounge chairs right on the beach. Each room was assigned a small patio area with two chairs. Although the yard around the resort was small, it had nice clean astro turf and a small putting area. The Fair: The parking lot is really small and the road going along the resort is really narrow and busy. The resort assigned the two smallest rooms to the only couples in our group which didn't make sense. The room around our bed was very narrow and our door opened out into an outside corridor. One time I opened my door and almost hit another person from the resort. Also, just outside our door was the room with the ice machine. Every time someone used the ice machine day or night, I could hear it loud and clear in my room. The Bad: When we arrived at this resort it was already dark. Our friend fell on the steps from the parking lot leading to the patio and our rooms. All walkways were dark and unlit. Our friend dislocated his finger, hurt his back and his hip. There are automatic solar lights and lights on the resort walls, but none were working. One light was on the walkway 4ft away. I looked at the light and it was clear that it was mounted by a small screw into the metal railing but had been knocked off. The light on the other side, mounted on a wooden pole simply didn't work. I phoned the front desk and they sent a maintenance man out who indicated that one light needed batteries, the lights in our corridor simply didn't work and that he'd be back to fix it in the morning. Our corridor lights never were fixed and every night we had to struggle to get get in our room. The lights were fixed on the front walkway the next day. In our room we had issues: second day in, we had an ant infestation in our bathroom of very tiny ants. We simply took tissues and killed as many as we could. The toilet, when sat on, rocked forward and backwards a good quarter inch. The toilet seat was loose. When I went to get toilet paper I went to roll the paper forward and the whole paper holder fell forward. Whomever installed it used a screw instead of a bolt so any downward pressure will loosen it. In my pictures, please note the one of the corner of the bed. Because there is so little room and these corners of the bed blend in, you will probably be like us and crack your shin off them a few times a day. My son's room had a defective sink stopper which is built in to the sink itself. Because it was stuck closed, he could not use the sink. Maintenance came around, "fixed it", but it did the same thing the very next day. Next the AC unit was very loud. Because it was on a thermostat, it would be quiet when it wasn't on and when it did kick in it scared you awake. So I had to use just the fan at night. On our last night our friend had items stolen from the patio. I asked the desk to check the security cameras, but never heard back. The management did give us a small rebate for...

Beachfront location review from July 2023. Casey Key Beach is a beautiful beach! A month before our arrival I called to cancel due to a medical issue, but was informed they wouldn’t refund our money, so we went as planned. I called a few days before arrival to confirm, and mentioned we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. Moe returned my call and said he would make it special. There was a ballon, card, chocolates & popcorn on the bed when we entered. It was a thoughtful surprise. He also gifted us a free breakfast at the mainland location. It was very good! We stayed in the king suite/courtyard view unit. Upon entering we were hit with an overpowering smell of mold/mildew. We assumed the room hadn’t been used for a while and hoped it would disappear with the AC units running. Unfortunately it remained a strong odor the entire stay. The bedroom AC unit was a mess. There was a foam strip hanging out of the side, and bottom, and it ran so LOUD you had to raise your voice to hear once another. It would cycle down for 2 min at a low tone and then clunk very loudly back on and run at the same sound level for several minutes. It was a constant, abrupt wake up call throughout the night as we tried to sleep. We informed staff about it 3 times. Once by submitting a form on the 1st night, the next day it was face to face, and lastly by phone. After the 3rd attempt the maintenance guy came out & insisted nothing was wrong and left, so we were stuck with it like this the reminder of our stay. The bedroom window blinds leak light when the sun comes up, sleeping in was impossible. The cleanliness of our room was mediocre. It definitely needs a deep cleaning and has some maintenance issues. There were some old splatters on the walls near the trash cans, dirty baseboards and crooked art work. A couple of lightbulbs were burnt out and the wall switches were a guessing game as to which lights they were linked to. The room itself though was a cute space with a Beachy vibe. The king bed was semi lumpy and the sleeping pillows provided were flat. The TV remote felt gummy and would stick to your hand. (gag) I washed it with soap and water but it didn’t help. Bathroom- In case it matters to others, the bathroom doesn’t have a countertop and the rainshower shower head is weak. A suggestion would be to add an entry rug and some others throughout. The sand gets everywhere and is constantly on your feet. A flyer was displayed in a frame listing the 4th of July festivities. This would have been helpful if we were there for the 4th, but our stay was in mid July. According to the locals, this was the “off season”, yet there were many people staying in this area. Our particular stretch of beach behind the resort wasn’t as crowded as it was down about a 1/4 of a mile down but there were definitely people on both sides of us on the beach and in the surrounding properties. The road the resort sits on is lined with side by side accommodations. I was under the impression this was a private beach area and would be mostly secluded. It is not.

PRO’s- Casey Key beach is steps away from this resort through a short, private walking path. The beach is covered in shells but they don’t hurt your feet. Sunsets are beautiful!! Each unit has 2 chairs and an umbrella set up on the beach each day, but they do take them down in the early evening. (A few chairs were in need of repair or replacement) The small courtyard is covered with artificial turf which was nice and the landscaping was beautiful and relaxing. The outdoor shower and small golf area was an added plus. Overall we enjoyed our get away, but highly doubt we would return to this resort due to the overwhelming & concerning mold/mildew smell, the condition of the AC unit and it being ignored. This really was a major issue. The price of the unit vs the condition of this unit just doesn’t add up. In hindsight I wish I would’ve requested a different room. Maybe it would’ve been a better experience. If you’re looking for a secluded area, this is not it during July, but...

First and last time visiting. The good: Booking was easy, they were clear on instructions on how to check in and the place was clean. We weren't able to get an early check-in, which is understandable. The place we stayed in was quaint. Nothing fancy but comfortable, well-stocked and clean. The property was well-maintained and welcoming. The bad: There are a lot of rules and if you don't pay attention, I can see how this can become a very unpleasant and expensive experience. First, for such a small place, the charges for guests, parking and towels, chairs, etc is shocking and not something I want to have to think about when I am on vacation and trying to relax or visit with friends that live in the area at the place I am staying. It would be nice to see these built into the cost and "complimentary" instead of being listed out as something I have to keep track of and schedule ahead of time. However, that's clearly only my preference. The unfortunate part came when I had to change travel plans and leave one day early. We live a 5 hour flight away and had a family emergency come up. On top of changing flights, etc there was alot going on on my end to manage. They had no problem changing my dates and excepting my early departure, but I only later came to find out that the room is non-refundable. Instead of refunding the night we didn't stay (we were able to check out on time) I was told that I will receive a "credit to the resort". So I asked if they have any other properties in the US that I can visit, since I don't see myself returning to the area for a while, if ever, or if there is any other way I can spend the money and get something in return. I have yet to hear a response. I can understand if it's a large chain and I have the option to use my "credit" towards a night anywhere else, but that's not the case. If you stay here, I suggest you pay very close attention to the details, and there are a lot. It really takes away from the small town vibe of relaxing and enjoying your time when you have to make sure you're not being charged for multiple things that may not have been made clear at all. I was unable to find anything regarding the "resort credit" in any communication: on the website, in any email or text correspondence. Not even in the DOCUSIGN. The only thing I found was when I was searching and went back to the website and tried to book a room and that is the only time that I could find that it shows that the rooms were NON-REFUNDABLE. So be very aware if you book here that if your plans change, you will not be refunded for nights you are not able to stay. Also, there is no office, it's all virtual non-contact check in. Only communication is via email or text. Ultimately, it's very bad taste that they have yet to respond to my question regarding the options to use the credit. It comes across as well, they got my money so what do they care? Unfortunately, due to that, I would not recommend staying here and I will not refer any friends or family to stay either. There are plenty of other places to choose from in the area. Also, it was confusing when booking, due to the different properties and addresses, if you aren't familiar with the area, which I was not. If the owner wants to look up our reservation, as he has in previous reviews, it is listed under my husbands name. J.H. It seems like they've had some change in ownership and I really hope they figure it out, because it does seem to have some potential and I wish we didn't leave with such a bad taste...
