A True Hidden Gem That Redefines Hospitality! We booked our stay at The Escape Casey Key Resort and Marina the day before the 4th of July weekend—completely last minute—after rerouting a family trip originally headed to the Great Wolf Lodge in Naples for a scuba adventure my husband planned on the fly. And let me tell you, this spontaneous change of plans turned out to be the best decision we could’ve made!
For context, we’ve traveled in everything from a 5th wheel toy hauler to luxury resorts like the Ritz-Carlton, and we’ve sadly grown used to the steady decline in customer service over the years. So we weren’t expecting anything exceptional. But the moment we booked, Mark from the resort proved us wrong.
Mark actually called us the night before our check-in to let us know our room wasn’t occupied—and that we were welcome to check in as early as 9:00 AM the next morning when he arrived at the office. In today’s travel world, that kind of proactive and thoughtful service is almost unheard of. Naturally, we rearranged our morning to take full advantage, and that extra day added a whole new level of magic to our stay.
Upon arrival, Mark greeted us warmly, ensured we were settled in, and walked us through the many complimentary amenities available to guests. A beach wagon, umbrella, sand toys for our toddler, bikes, pool floats, beach chairs—all included. Not a single hidden fee or upsell. We kept expecting a catch, but there wasn’t one.
There were also kayaks, paddle boards, propane grills, and even a rec room stocked with books and board games—all available for guest use at no extra charge. The grounds were immaculate, and our room was essentially a full apartment—spotless and modern, as if it had been renovated just hours before we arrived.
We rode the bikes to a local restaurant for dinner, and used their private walkway to easily cross the street with our beach wagon to the gorgeous shoreline—maybe 60 feet away. Everything about this place felt like a breath of fresh air.
We're already sending family to stay there this coming weekend, and we absolutely plan to return ourselves, this time with even more loved ones in tow.
Thank you, Escape Casey Key, for reminding us what true hospitality is supposed to look like. This place is an...
Read moreJust returned from a 6 night stay here. Great small beach resort with fantastic people managing it. The care of the resort is seen in the meticulously maintained plantings and landscaping. We could see why this place has many return visitors. Reviews about Escape are for the most part very accurate. Highly recommend calling the office before booking online, to ensure the resort is not catering almost exclusively to a multi generational family reunion during your stay. Otherwise expect limited space at the 15 person pool and no space near beach access (a non-issue at a much larger resort). This family reunion during our stay, took the entire length of the Escape beach area (their tents and chairs obnoxiously unoccupied most of the day). Room 14 was nicely equipped, spacious, and had a view of the channel & marina area. Room 14 however is directly above the main maintenance storage room, marina laundry room, and marina bathroom and showers, which made this a loud room during our stay. Floor vibrated when washer and dryer going at same time, while the live-aboards in the slip directly across from the room singing in the showers, ensured an earlier than expected (cheery?) wake-up. We would definitely book again when returning to the area for a beach vacation, but in...
Read moreWe celebrated our wedding October 15th, 2022 after Covid forced us to postpone. We have been working with the Escape team since 2019 and could not be happier with their professionalism and attention to detail. Mark and Bob made our weekend perfect. We had the entire resort for our party for the weekend and our guests were impressed with the beautiful rooms and cleanliness that Tara and her team provide. Mark, the resort manager, helped us with any and every detail of the planning, from booking the exact room for each of my guests to placing gift bags and souvenirs in the rooms. Bob, customer service manager, made sure that everyone was happy and having fun. We can't say enough about how amazing Bob, Mark and Tara have been over the years we have been planning our wedding and every time we stay at the Escape. Their flexibility and kindness allowed us to have the most amazing time and made our wedding a total success. We could not be happier with our choice of resort and can't wait to go back! There is no bad room at the Escape, but if you want to sit and relax on your own balcony with a view of the inter-coastal, book room 14 (1/1) or 6 (2/2). For direct access to the pool, and perfect for families, book rooms 1, 2 or 3 (3/3) each. This resort is a gem and totally...
