This use to be the best sushi I’ve ever had up until a few months ago. I would come here almost twice a month. Something has changed and it’s all bad!!!
I typically get the same rolls or rolls that all include the spicy tuna.
The heart attack app has always been a favorite.
A couple months ago, everything I ordered tasted like cat food and smelt like cat food. My husband gets the tempura rolls (not my thing) and I’d always try one piece. They were just uneatable! Way over fried. They remade them and they were ok. But still off. I was actually sick off a piece because it tasted so bland and like what I assume cat food taste like.
We couldn’t go back for a whole Nother month because we couldn’t get the bad taste out of our mouth of how awful everything tasted. When we had brought it up to the servers attention, they said that they were training some new staff and trying new sauces so we figured they were just learning and chucked it up to that.
We went back just recently, and the food has gotten even worse. My husband was not able to eat his rolls at all this time and they were cooked properly for a fried roll and I was able to eat mine, but it didn’t taste good and we aren’t the type to complain and have things remade or replaced or taken off the bill .
When he asked the server if changes were made, if maybe they got a new supplier just inquire like maybe this was just temporary and asked to speak to the manager. The server was extremely rude, said the manager was busy and that if he didn’t like it then don’t come back.
The floors have now been sticky for months. When ordering iced tea and they are making a fresh pot we are informed and asked if we wanted soda because it’s gonna take about 15 minutes we always kindly state we are willing to wait. On the most recent visits to this location when the server informs us that the it has to be made because it ran out, they don’t ever give an option to wait. They are always pushing a fountain drink like they are not trained to ask if customers are willing to wait for the ice tea. Then when it was done, they said it’s still hot and that they could bring us a soda. We had to suggest just filling the cup full of ice and pouring the hot tea over it. Even then, the service seemed reluctant to do that and went and talk to another server before bringing us the drinks that way.
This was one of our favorite places to go and used to have the best sushi in the High Desert and due to the way the server acted when asked for manager and told us if we didn’t like it. We didn’t have to come back even if this place was to correct the food issues, we would not...
Read moreMoving to Iowa, leaving my 90 year old Mom, a younger brother and sister in my beloved home state of California was hard enough.
Knowing I cannot visit my favorite Sushi bar Yoshi's broke my heart. See if you can guess where my first stop is when we visit California. No its not Mom's its YOSHI'S!
This first rate high quality fine sushi bar is beyond reproach. A huge menu to choose rolls from served several different ways. A kids menu and traditional American food is offered as well. Alcohol and non alcoholic beverages are available.
The service is great, however my absolute reason I go is the ALL YOU CAN EAT lunch and or dinner specials! I SWEAR ITS TRUE. Are ya sitting down the lunch special is under $20.00, the dinner is under $25.00! You can buy rolls 1 or 2 if that floats your boat. Depending on the ingredients they can cost from a merger $6.00 for a California Roll [it has no seafood in it] or upwards of $20.00 for an exotic poison "puffer" Blowfish.
Certain hours apply, I'd call ahead for specific times and days.
When I sit down I eat! My personal best, 8 to 10 rolls alone. These aren't itty bitty small hot dog size rolls. Oh no folks these are burrito round with about 8 serving pieces per. The spicy mayo and Eel sauces are fantastic drizzled on by the talented chef's however order them on the side for extraordinary tasty dipping experience!
Let's do some simple math so you'll see the advantage to Yoshi's. Yoshi's average roll costs $8.50 ea. I eat 8. 8 x $8.50 = $68.00! For $20.00 dollars? You can afford to tip the chef's again on the way out plus you servers without going broke
The Wasabi is a potent one adding that extra OMG when ya get over zealous! However the pickled Ginger cools and soothes your palate.
The only Yoshi Sushi Bar I've found is in the high desert town of Victorville CA right off the 15fwy use Google Maps for directions.
If you do stop in, my advice is to tip the Chef's BEFORE YOU SIT DOWN OR ORDERING. You will not be disappointed!
The only drawback is you cannot take home what you do not eat when dining on the All You Can Eat menu and no giving a bite to others at your table, i.e. no sharing.
Apparently in my absence some folks have let the Alligator eyes overload their Mockingbird tummies leaving unfinished roll potions, what a sin!
If this HAPPENS to you a Wanten Waste charge will be added for unfinished rolls or portions their of. Please read this when you enter.
Hmmmmm, Yoshi's I feel a road trip coming real soon!
Happy...
Read moreI am so disappointed and puzzled I do not know why this place is even in business as a sushi place I bet you the owner isn’t Japanese and even worse they have no clue how to prepare Japanese food to standard. I tried three different items from the menu they were all horrible almost tasted like left over sushi. The flavors of the sauces are so poor tasting and the ingredients they used in the roll. The service was slow I had to ask for wasabi and ginger twice and the third time I got it but it was late because the order came 10-15 mins before. I never got the appetizer I ordered. I’m puzzled why this place has 4.5 stars do high desert people not know any better about sushi or are these reviews made up? I’ve gone to many sushi restaurants all over the country all my life including other countries this tops the worst. There’s a lot of good sushi places down the hill and LA. In the high desert the best I found is samurai sushi. I’m so puzzled... this place felt like a fake Japanese place just like the food. I have a lot more to say about this place but I’m going to leave it...
