Just to be clear, the four stars indicates the level of my satisfaction (not that this place deserve 4 stars in Michelin's or something). I've been here two weeks at a technical training seminar, and I'm aiming this at others who may attend the same school.
I really have little to complain about. The staff have been unfailingly awesome -- I'd give them 5 stars, for sure. The shuttle van that took us to and from the training sessions was always on time, and quick (despite construction traffic). The cleaning crew did a good job every day, the as did the breakfast crew and the hors d'oeuvre staff. The front desk staff were always friendly and professional.
The room is nice enough, and clean enough, and the bed is quite comfortable. The desk / table is slightly small for me, and the office chair arms don't fit under the table when it's at a good working height. The wi-fi is fast enough to stream YouTube without buffering delays, most of the time. (It lags noticeably on busy evenings.) At the desk / table, there are enough power outlets for two laptops, two tablets, a cellphone, a bluetooth earpiece, and an external monitor (bring an HDMI cable, and you can use the TV as another monitor). I would have liked wired Ethernet, if not in the room then in the business center at least; but alas.
The air conditioning can be not quite a match for the afternoon sun, but it's adequate for mornings, nights, and overcast days.
I found the breakfast buffet to be pretty good, with a surprisingly large variety of foods. The front desk always had free fresh cookies, but in afternoons and evenings, the coffee pot had a tendency to run dry (and stay that way for a while).
The indoor saltwater swimming pool is very pleasant (though slightly small for actually swimming). The gym is not "a closet with only 4 machines", as another reviewer said. I mean, yes, there are only 4 machines (two treadmills, an elliptical runner, and a multi-function weight-lifting apparatus); but it was way bigger than a closet, and felt like an appropriate size. I used a treadmill twice, and I never saw anyone else using the room, so I think there's no crowding problem.
There is a laundry room, coin-operated, with two washers and two dryers, which I thought was not enough (especially when one of washers was broken for a couple days). A dry cleaner picks up items, but I didn't use it.
All in all, a good mid-range / business hotel with an exemplary staff. I had a very good experience here, and I'd be happy to...
Read moreWe've stayed at this location before and always had excellent service... until Saturday. We checked in on Friday, 3/14. I wasn't feeling well and was afraid I wouldn't make it through the weekend without having to head home. I canceled the second night stay for Saturday and was told if we wanted to stay, to just let the front desk know in the morning. I called the front desk and told Michaela that we wanted to stay the second night. She told me that I would need to come down to the desk. When I asked if I needed to come down before noon, she told me I did not, but needed to be there by 1:30pm. This was at approximately 10:30am. I took medicine for my migraine and laid down, knowing I needed at least 2 hours to rest. At 11:55am, I received a call from the more senior rep at the desk telling me I HAD to come down before noon to extend the reservation. I went to the desk and explained the conversation with Michaela and was told that Michaela was new and didn't understand the process. I'm fine with that. Learning takes time. What I am not fine with was the way the senior female addressed me. She told me I HAD to come down before noon or housekeeping "would be beating on my door to clean the room." My question is, how is this accurate if you have late checkout? Could my delay coming down not be handled like a late checkout? The problem I had with the senior female was her attitude and the lacking of four simple words. The only time she said, "I'm sorry" was when she said she was sorry if I felt she was being disrespectful to me. She never apologized for the inconvenience she subjected me to when I cannot help but believe there could have been a less of a hassle of a workaround. The third and fourth words missing were, "Thank you." She never thanked me for coming down and handling something I thought I had addressed earlier on the phone. This was NOT a good experience. I wish I had recorded it for your reference. We've stayed at this location at least four times since the first of the year. We are quite familiar with many of the staff and have nothing but great things to say about them. The female I dealt with is the exception. I have no desire to ever work with her again. She definitely needs to work on her social and customer...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed at this hotel last weekend with our 6 month old daughter for three nights. We were nervous about what the hotel would be like because the $99/night rate for a 2 room suite almost sounded too good to be true. We could not have had a better experience! This is, hands down, one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed at in this price range.
First impressions were excellent. The landscaping is beautiful; lots of colorful flowers that appear to be well cared for. Complimentary freshly baked cookies are offered at the front desk upon check-in. My husband and I probably ate our weight in chocolate chip cookies (although they all taste good). We were offered a portable crib for our daughter (which was actually a pack-n'-play), but we had brought our own. The front lobby is large and open, but is decorated in a way that makes it feel warm and inviting.
Luckily, the first impressions were a good indicator of what was to come. Our room was extremely clean ... one of our friends commented that even the grout in the shower tile was sparkling white! The continental breakfast is one of the largest and well stocked that I've experienced at other hotels in this price range. Waffles, eggs, bacon, breakfast burritos, pastries, yogurt, grits, oatmeal (and toppings), cold cereal, frozen berries, fresh fruit, juice, milk, and coffee. All the staff were extremely friendly and personable.
Finally, I accidentally left behind a few items in a drawer, but didn't realize until after we had checked out and had arrived back home. I called the hotel and the staff was extremely helpful in getting the items mailed back to me in a timely manner.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again and will recommend it to all my friends traveling to the Atlanta area! It's an extra bonus that the hotel is located right off I-75 and is only about a 15-20 minute drive to get downtown. If I had to find one flaw, it would be that the windows did not seem thick enough to block most noise (it almost seemed like the windows were open), but this never ended up being an issue since the AC fan was running almost constantly and we packed a white...
