Carolina Lodge — Hotel in Walterboro

DO NOT STAY HERE! READ WHY BELOW!

I just posted pictures of the room so please check them out. You will not believe this disgusting, filthy place. My exhusband was working a week here and was placed at this dump by his job. It was close to Edisto Beach, so I went up there to see both. I was shocked when I arrived, which was after midnight, to see the condition of the room! I requested the following morning for another room and was told "No, there aren't any!", by the manager/owner! After going back and forth about them having a supposed "full house" on a Tuesday, and zero cars in front of any room except mine, I finally requested or urged strongly that she at least give the room a thorough cleaning. I pointed out the areas that were in desperate need of cleaning , most of which there is a picture of. I asked also that a shower curtain be hung so that all the water did not go out into floor while showering, and she said " if they have one! We are not a hotel chain. We are privately owned, and we don't have to go by chain standards!" I COULD NOT BELIEVE SHE ACTUALLY SAID THAT! HER ARROGANCE AND INHUMANE ATTITUDE MADE MY STOMACH TURN AND MY ANGER RISE! I then left. I stayed gone most of the day and after returning I was hoping the room was cleaned and in good order. But to my dismay and surprise... NO!!!! The room was supposedly cleaned but it looked as if it wasn't touched! Not one wipe on any surface top, the sink nor toilet had been cleaned, floors not swept or vacuumed, towels were picked up but not replaced and not one single thing I asked for was even attempted! AND STILL NO SHOWER CURTAIN! THE PICS THAT I TOOK WERE TAKEN AT THIS POINT! ....THIS IS THE ROOM AFTER THEY CLEANED IT!!!!TOTALY DISGUSTING!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE! IF I HAD TIME I WOULD POST THESE PICTURES EVERYDAY AND EVERYWHERE UNTIL THEY CHANGED OR CLOSED! THEY and guys, they have...

The sign advertised $27/night...so I went in to get a room. The guy at the counter said it was $37/night...honestly I didn't feel like going elsewhere I was so tired. Had I known what I was in store for...I would've gladly just walked out and gone someplace else before ever paying for this dump. With tax and all, it came to $47 and some change...pretty pricey for this place. The guy also told me there was wi-fi.

I checked in my room, first thing I did was sit on the couch. Within seconds, I had a tiny flea jump on my wrist. I thought it was strange...but just went and flushed it down the toilet and went back to the couch. I bet I had 12-15 fleas jump on my arms/neck/ankles within a 10 minute sitting on the thing...disgusting. Someone else's hairs were all over the couch...gross. There were burn marks, stains of all sorts all over the couch...shiny and slimy looking ones. Not just like drink spills. Tried to take a shower, the entire tub was completely full, nearly overflowing within like 5 minutes. The seals on the inside of the fridge door were ripped off, so the fridge didn't seal...my drink stayed lukewarm. I just used a towel and laid it out on the bed and slept on it...I didn't even want to touch anything in this nasty room.

I checked out and got back home...fleas were on my bag and clothes...one jumped on my girlfriend haha. It's gonna suck super bad if I get fleas in my house now...right on.

This place sucks so bad. I would've gone somewhere else, but I paid with my debit card and didn't have enough money to go get another place. Even if I were able to have received a refund, it wouldn't have been back on my card in time enough to go immediately and get another room elsewhere. I was stuck with this dump. Learn from my...

Where do I begin?.After driving to spend the weekend of July 4th with a family member , we were really dissapointed with the atmosphere. When we got back to the room from site seeing in charleston , i pulled back the top cover to the bed and the top sheet was messed up as if the bed wasnt even made up, the sheet was not only dirty with tiny hairs there were even tiny specks of something that appeared to be bugs. The tolit kepted stopping up and worst of all the next day around 8:30 a.m. as we were fixing to leave to go back to charleston , the permanent tenants were outside cussing and using language that no one really wants to hear the first thing in the morning. So, he was ask politely to calm down and the resident pooceeded to cuss us and threatend to put a bullet in us. I went to managent and tild him what was goung on and requested a refund for the other night paid. He only refunded part of the next night day even thought we hadnt been there a whole 24 hrs . My next step is too get in touch with the health department to make sure they investigate...
