Highlander Inn — Hotel in Warrensville Heights

Place needs new carpeting and to be remodeled repainted and cleaned really good. In the office when I arrived I thought maybe I made a mistake by going there. Staff checking me in wasn't rude nor pleasent just ehhhh but he was quick and efficient checking me in and getting the room. I walked in my initial thought was this place is random outdated and dirty pretty much disgusting.... But in my room in seemed cleaner. Not like I feel comfortable clean but it was do-able I was taken back by the mirror on the floor against the wall instead of hanging and it being in the spot where the desk should be been but wasn't. The chair tho however was in the corner and it was comfortable so. The second day I overslept and woke up right before 1 pm cause the housekeeping woke me up they charged me a late fee of 20$ which I found to be ridiculous considering I was staying over again and in the same room mind you but the housekeepers were friendly and helpful staff didn't get nosey or seem to be looking into my buisness. My boyfriend & I stayed here for a couple of days because our power was out. The guy at the desk was nice but unfortunately, this location needs a total overhaul. Especially, the carpet at the front desk. It smelled of urine. This hotel needs new carpet throughout, drapes & comforters. Our comforter had several cigarette burns in it. While running the water in the shower, I realized the tub wasn't cleaned because there was old soap still in it, that I almost slipped on. It looked pretty old, so I could tell it had been there a few days. One of our bedside lamps was missing a light bulb. We got a replacement bulb from the front desk & it still didn't work. Smh. Luckily, we brought our own disinfectant wipes & sanitized everything down completely & I mean everything! In conclusion, this location is just for an overnight stay, if nothing else is available. Where to start... Even though the staff was nice, this place is definitely awfull. It smells cigarettes all over the place, even though it's prohibited, there's a leak in the bathroom, water doesn't flow down the shower, there are cigarettes holes in the blankets, the place was dirty, you couldn't even lock the door of the bathroom or the main door

I expect some fake reviews there, because there is no way that our room is the only « bad » room in this motel, where the restaurant has closed years ago

Also, don't expect any continental breakfast, you'll have to buy one at the gas station if you want anything for breakfast
